THE TREATY OF LIEMON This Treaty signifies that the following regions have come into the compliance with the laws of the Liemon Council, and will form the joint alliance known as the Allied Association of Regions. Islands of The Glorious Freedom The United Lands Barrayar ACA Ecnavian Federation Jesuitopolis Fraca Theramore Intergalactic Federacy Tychrome Bermuda Triangle The Vintagionian Empire The laws laid down by the Liemon Council and all of its subranches will be bided by, and if a regions does not bide by them, the said region will be put on probation. Further breaches of the law of the Treaty will result in expulsion. The Treaty, however, states that even after you have been expulsed, you may join, but with limited rights. The regions of the AAOR will be expected to vote on the resolutions suggested by the Liemon Council, and if the said regions do not vote, they will be not able to vote on the next resolution. This is the only “punishment” for not voting. The resolutions passed by the Council will represent the decisions of all the region who have signed the Treaty. Insulting any members of the AAOR, be them region or nation, will be taken as offense to all the member regions and nations of the AAOR. Insulting or challenging the Liemon Council government or the AAOR Heads of States will result in probation of the said region or nation. For insults or challenges coming from one nation, that nation will be held accountable and held in contempt of the Treaty, which will result in temporary abolishment of proposals suggested by that nation, if severe enough. For weaker insults, the nation will merely be put on Type 1 Probation. Type 1 Probation- Mild type of probation. The nation is not held for anything except one insult. Type 2 Probation- Moderate form of probation. The nation is held accountable for insults exceeding 2 figures. Type 3 Probation- The nation has insulted an entire region, or challenged the Liemon Council or the AAOR. The nation will be held on extreme probation in which the nation will not be able to vote on further resolution until a trial is passed. This probation will not be used in only very extreme cases. The AAOR will also be able to recruit new regions into the Treaty, but they will be expected, as any other region, to follow the rules of the Treaty. The regions of the AAOR now sign here: Islands of The Glorious Freedom The United Lands Barrayar ACA Ecnavian Federation Jesuitopolis Fraca Theramore Intergalactic Federacy Tychrome Bermuda Triangle The Vintagionian Empire |

I support the alliance. And if we join, we can help enact clear definitions. Lets not just throw a opportunity at a regional friendship out the window like that! |

@Clever Thanks! I wasn't aware of all that mess beforehand, but that does make it more difficult to accept the alliance with a clear conscience. I think that we should keep an open mind and continue checking in with the Council and continue a healthy relationship. We should wait until we have a formalized government and then encourage the Council to iron out their treaty terms. In conclusion, it is the opinion of The Most Serene Republic of Jeuropia that we vote 'Nay' to this treaty in its current state; further, we encourage our Head of State to maintain a healthy relationship with the Liemon Council and Ambassador Coconut Horse until such time that we are capable to agree to a treaty and is in harmony with the goals and public opinion (to be determined) in the region of Barrayar. i know a simple yes or no would have sufficed and this isn't the RPs but i really wanted to be formal and shit |

I think we should take a similar approach that Jeuro is suggesting. We should keep an open mind and observe but stay out of the treaty for now. |

Then how about we agree to have an embassy with them, but don't join at this time? |

Right now we aren't in the AAOR, so it wouldn't be right to vote. |

I have already acted on what I took to be the consensus decision of the region: that we are not joining the AAOR, but that we will allow embassies with them. Unless anyone believes a full vote by the region would go differently and cares enough to call for a formal poll on either of those issues, I think we're done here. There is no need to belabor the point. |
