This is the office of your friendly local admins. Here, you can: -bring up technical matters which an admin should see to -point out a thread which has gotten out of hand in some manner -appeal admin/mod decisions (the decision will be reviewed by an uninvolved mod/admin)* You can also PM Keita or me if it is more appropriate for something to be brought up in private. For things which have their own dedicated threads (e.g. citizenship, application for a political party, etc.), please continue to do that in the appropriate thread! This is for issues which don't have a specific place to go. Any questions? You know where to find us. ![]() *Unless we can't find one, in which case we will play it by ear and do our best. I cannot change my political party to the BPP. When can I? |

I would assume it has not been added to the selection list yet. Hold with them to sort it out. |

Whoops. As Quinn said, that's because we haven't added it to the selection list -- but that is an easy thing to forget, so it's good that you pointed it out. I will take care of that now.

I hope you're aware that you have unwittingly allowed every mod you create to view the posters IP addresses. This needs to be fixed immediately. Whilst I can practice a code of ethics, I cannot be sure that other people have this scruples. It is unacceptable and irresponsible of whichever admin has inadequately created a permission set that allows the bearer of that permission set to have access to the only piece of information that is required to start hacking into peoples computers and networks. You have jeopardized the security of everyones computer that uses this forum. |

Actually, it seems to come with the permissions of "mod". I remember having the same ability to view IP's when I was a Police Officer over at Westphalia. So I think it's a ZB thing rather than anything we did in the setup. But I will look into it and see if there's some setting I can use to change it. |

When you create a mod there is a check box which clearly says allow to view members IP Addresses. |

Since Keita is on it, I will only add that the last time I visited the Westphalia forum, I still had the ability to view people's IP addresses, in spite of having been neither an admin nor a citizen there for months. I don't think Mike even realized. *shakes head* At least we're giving you quicker service.

Thanks, but don't expect me to be praising the admin team for meeting the minimum standards of competence. Or at least, that's what I think Quinn would say. |

Seen as we're completely above board here and we cannot post PG13+ content. Can I please see your data protection policy? |

Ah. These are not part of the regular permission sets for Super Moderators. The option is only selectable for forum moderators. I've adjusted your permissions, Quinn, and will now also do so for all the others. |

Mmm...well, I'm not a professional host, so I believe that question is best taken up with Zetaboards, I believe? Do you feel I should submit your question to ZB as a support ticket? |

The onus of responsibility falls upon the administrator of the service to ensure that the data that the administrator has access to is kept safe at all times. I.e Not making IP addresses publicly or semi publicly available. |

Well, as of yesterday, and as far as I know, only Zdenka, Andro and I can see IP addresses. |

I have a question, I am a citizen of this Region, yet another Region (The Respected Realms[tRr] ( Region - Forum ) asked me to act as Ambassador for that region to discuss the possibility of Embassy between the two regions, now I wonder as I am a Citizen should I also apply for Diplomatic status ? |

When Coconut Horse first arrived, he filed for ambassadorship representing the Liemon Council. It has the same permissions as citizenship, but you will appear black. Unfortunately, only the admin can change your status. And they aren't active. |

Mmm...I can give you citizen permissions along with the Ambassadorial mask. This will of course be provisional until we have formalised a policy on whether Ambassadors should also be allowed to be citizens. |
