Given Name: Karina Sabrina Engel
Alias: Permafrost
Furcadia Alt: Karina Engel
Species: Homosuperior
Gender: Female
Age: 27
DOB: December 6th

Mutation:
•Frost Manipulation:
⁃Freeze water, create, shape and manipulate ice. Creations form naturally such as snow, hail, icicles, ice spikes, glaciers, pack ice, and frost.
•This is achieved by reducing the kinetic energy of atoms and thus making the atmosphere colder, for various effects and combinations, such as weapons or shields. Her favorite type of weapon to create is an ice bow and arrow. For the string of the bow, since she is unable to make a usable string with ice, she keeps actual bow strings (and plenty of them) at all times on her person.
⁃However, she can only form these conjurations if she is in actual physical contact with any source of water or ice.
⁃Salt water is more difficult for her to manipulate, and these conjurations are usually more brittle than fresh water constructs. Also, her constructs are very weak to any thermal based abilities.
∙Crystallization of the Constructs she creates:
- The constructs created from ice can be turned into crystal with a bit of concentration. These constructs are sturdier than her ice constructs, but are also heavier.
- Seeing as these constructs are based off of the ice ones, the same weaknesses apply except with thermal based abilities. These constructs are able to hold their forms better against thermal attacks, giving her better protection when she is facing any temperatures outside her normal threshold.

Secondary Mutation:
•Physical mutation: Due to the ability to manipulate ice, Karina's skin and hair have irreversibly been altered to match her new frozen abilities.
⁃Her skin has turned a snowy white color, while her hair has changed to an icy blue.
⁃Her body also is much colder than normal, its top temperature reaching at most fifty degrees Fahrenheit.
⁃If in a moist environment, her body naturally will freeze any water that touches her.
•If injured, her body tends to ice over the site swiftly which allows her blood, which is usually around twenty degrees Fahrenheit colder than her normal body temperature, to heal the wound slightly faster than the average human's ability.
⁃Depending on the injury, healing can take between a couple of days to two weeks at tops. Injuries such as flesh wounds would be the lesser of time, where as breaks would be greater.
•However, if she is exposed to higher temperatures, her body becomes so weak that she is unable to move.
⁃Temperatures above eighty degrees Fahrenheit can be lethal to her.
⁃Eating or drinking anything warm or salty can also make her very ill… I'll let the imagination take the wheel for what kind of ill…

Physical Description: Her skin is a snowy white color, fitting of her frozen abilities, her hair an outstanding ice blue. Piercing ice blue eyes seem to stare at her target with deep intent. Small sparkling speckles her cheekbones like freckles, frozen droplets of water glistening in the light.

Personality: Cold to the world, this young woman seems not to care much for the human races views of those different from themselves. If she had it her way, they'd all be frozen in a giant block of ice.

History: Karina started out as a normal girl, a messy tangle of auburn hair and deeply tanned skin. She was quiet most of the time, but not shy. She grew up on a farm deep outside of Alexander, New York and seemed to have fun helping out around the farm. It wasn't until her sixteenth birthday that Karina noticed something odd started to change in her body. Being in the dead of winter, staying inside the house with her family became harder as the girl felt like the temperature was constantly rising; even going near the fireplace would make her feel as if she was having a heat stroke. The only relief she felt was when she was either outside in the snow or in her room with the window open and a blanket at the base of the door to keep the heat out of her room.

She spent that entire winter trying her hardest not to stay in the main portion of the house for longer than necessary, though her parents wondered why she was becoming so reluctant to help out. As Spring came about, Karina found herself getting ill quite often. The season warming the land would make those moments of feeling faint come more often, which worried her parents. Not knowing what to think, they took her to a doctor. When that yielded no results, the family was rather baffled. Never had they witnessed anything like this in their family, and yet here it was happening to their own daughter. Karina seemed to get better as the spring progress, but unbeknownst to her family, she had come to realize another of her abilities. After taking a very cold shower one morning, she realized the water that was left on her body was completely frozen. For her this felt wonderful, the cool prickles of the ice cooling her down immensely.

Spring turned to Summer, and the problems started all over again. She tried again the trick with the water, having slowly been teaching herself a little here and there with it. It helped, but would only last for a few hours at a time before she'd have to find the nearest water source again. This got rather irritating for her, of course, but it was also around this time that her body started showing the physical signs of change. Her skin had started to grey, as did those auburn locks. Her parents were the first to comment on this, wondering what in the world was going on. Afraid their daughter might have some horribly contagious disease, they took her to another hospital for treatment. Though a relief not to be in the heat of the summer any longer, Karina clearly did not wish to be anywhere near doctors. The blood they drew seemed thicker than normal, and when the results of the blood test came back, the doctors were rather puzzled. Were there ice crystals floating around in her blood?! They seemed to convince her parents that she indeed was sick and needed to be kept for observation. However, Karina had other plans. She knew she was not sick, and when no one was looking, she attempted her escape from the hospital. Nurses and doctors tried to stop her, but Karina had had enough. Armed with only the cup of water provided in her hospital room, she used that water to freeze any who blocked her path out to the floor by their shoes. Didn't want to use up all that she had at hand. Despite the heat from outside, and the rather ill feeling within, she got herself as far away from her hometown as possible, traveling at night when the air was cooler and finding as cool of shelter as she could during the day. By this point, her skin and hair had changed completely, small crystals of ice decorating her upper cheeks like freckles from her attempts to keep herself cool.

Fall rolled around, and Karina found herself deep in the heart of New York City. Unable to find any form of work, the girl wasn't completely surprised. Her appearance alone was enough to be turned away for many jobs. Even as an ice-cream vendor, with her ability to freeze things, she was still turned down.

Despite this, she kept trying before finally giving up and taking on a street performer's career. Though she could only perform comfortably between late fall and early spring, many seemed to like the snowy-skinned ice woman's sculpting abilities. But after a confrontation with a disgruntled police officer and being kicked out of Time Square for making a rather cute ice tiara for a little girl that was crying, she ventured elsewhere to find someplace she might fight in. For now, she wanders, hiding out during the days of Summer and traveling at night, or as long as her feet can carry her in the colder seasons.

Possible Future: I'm not really sure where I want her going, per-say, but more letting her develop on her own… Though, I will say her distaste for those humans that hate mutants will be immense… she no likie those humans. So yeah, just gonna see what happens.

Faction: She'll probably be leaning more toward the Brotherhood, but at first will be neutral. She'll probably run into some of the X-men and wonder why they are so keen on protecting those whom have looked down upon their kind for so long.

Extra: If she sees a little kid crying, whether human or mutant, she is going to try her hardest to make the kid smile, as proven by that small section of her history. Kids crying tears at her frozen heart! Also, her favorite food is ice cream, and her favorite drink is frozen juice. Yes… anything frozen, she loves.

Alright, I am really liking this so far! I love that she looks the part of an ice lady as part of her mutation. I think she is beautiful, but I could see how others might find her unnerving!

EDIT: You fixed everything I had an issue with, so I will go ahead and give you my approval!

I like how developed her background is and am fascinated at the different takes people have on ice powers (Some can feel heat, some can't, some are weak to it, others indifferent, etc.). No matter how many popsicles end up applying, I feel that so far each one is individual to themselves.

The archery angle is a nice touch, and with her age I can see her having a fairly nice grasp of how to wield her weapon.

*Pours some drinks and flips Karina upside-down to shake some ice cubes outta her.*

Having re-read this app, it is now very clean and precise. I'm cool with it.
