Given Name: Paige “Amanda” Shoals
Alias: Paige, Pey
Furcadia Alt: Paige Shoals
Species: Homo Superior
Gender: F
Age: 13

Mutation:
Weight/Density Manipulation -
Paige can manipulate weight and density by manifesting two 3'x3' semi-transparent panels that are linked to her hands (one per hand). She can increase or decrease the weight and density of the panels through concentration. Because they are linked to her-—one to each hand--she can direct them by moving her hands accordingly. [ Meaning that if she can't move the corresponding hand, she can't move that panel. ]

The scale of increase and decrease are as follows:
[-2400lbs || -1200lbs || -600lbs || -300lbs || -150lbs ||0|| 150lbs || 300lbs || 600lbs || 1200lbs || 2400lbs ]
(The negative amounts indicate how much the panels can lift)

+ By Default, the panels start off weightless.
+ The more she increases or decreases the weight or density, the more she has to concentrate and the more strain on her body. (At ±1200lbs, she has to put every ounce of her concentration in, and can't move around, At ±2400lbs, she passes out)
+ Increasing and Decreasing while in battle takes 1 post each, and she must go in stages (can't go from 0 to 1200 in one post.).
+ She can only make and use two panels at a time. The panels are semi-transparent, but solid. Looking through them is like looking through slightly foggy glass.
+ Regardless of how dense/heavy they get, they are breakable (the lighter they are the less durable they are). When they shatter, she has to use a post to bring them back.
+ Damage or pressure to her panels, she feels in her hands and arms. When the panels shatter, her hands fill with pain then go numb for a post.

Secondary Mutation: She can change her own density to float/weigh much more than she should, but only when not using her panels. She follows the same rules as her panels, and can only weigh as much as one would be able to. This can make her difficult to carry or move, or enable her to float. When floating she's more of a wayward balloon than say, a plane. Her panels are a much better travel option because she can motion them around with her hands.

Physical Description:
Having not fully left puberty, she's still fairly small. Reaching at about 4'1”, she's far from imposing. Her soft, thick black hair is pulled back into a large, poof behind her head. Often she wears colorful headbands, ribbons or scarves to mask what she believes is a large forehead. Her skin is a golden brown, her eyes some deep, muddled green.

In terms of fashion, she's content to wear whatever novelty t-shirt of the week she finds, and a pair of jeans. In terms of accessories she's often wearing colorful bracelets (candy or otherwise), and colorful fabrics in the form of scarves and headbands.

Personality:
Though she does her best to be friendly, she has a habit of being rather blunt. Her heart is on her sleeve, so to speak, since she still has a way to go when it comes to managing her emotions. Even so, she is a thrill-seeker, eager to make friends, and generally caring if someone doesn't give her reason to think otherwise.

At her core she is a bit of a show-off when given the chance. She's also pretty impressionable, but it's hard to convince her of that fact. Given the way she grew up and how her family is, she is actually a bit spoiled, and her powers sometimes make her hard to deal with.

History:
Paige doesn't have much of a tortured past. She grew up like most kids should; being a silly little goofball. And that she was, even before her powers began surfacing.

She lived with both her parents and her older brother in a small town miles away from Bayville. There wasn't much out there, but her family gave her a good life regardless. Her older brother was especially protective of her. In her early days, Paige never had to deal with much bullying because he was never very far away from her.

Right around the time that she had established herself in the local middle school, her father got a new job offer in Bayville. Despite her protests, it was decided that they would pack up and start new.

But Paige was insistent that she didn't want to go.

And on moving day, she refused to leave.

Tensions were high, and she was slowing things down, so they tried everything possible. They tried talking to her, they tried bribing her, and—desperate—they finally tried carrying her to the car.

But they couldn't lift her.

She was literally too heavy.

And that was how she first discovered her powers. It made her panic, so eventually her family was able to convince her that they could find a doctor in Bayville that could figure out what happened. But by the time they reached the city (after using up 3x as much gas as normal and tearing through 2 tires), Paige was back to “normal”.

Afterwards, her parents refused to talk about it, and urged her and her brother not to talk about it either.

And so, the child left her strange new powers alone and didn't use them at all because she was an obedient child that had no curiosity whatsoever.

No, not really. She took to using and developing her powers in secret—or rather, away from her parent's eyes. Her brother often helped her test them out. Usually by convincing her to do stuff for him or to help him impress his older friends. Sometimes she'd hide and use her panels to make it look like he could lift heavy things. Or make them think that he could fly, among other things.

In the two years they've been in Bayville, Paige hasn't seen someone besides herself use any powers. But rather than thinking that she's some sort of freak, she is convinced that all the weird stuff she can do is just some weird part of puberty. That and she insists her brother's power is “being a super dork”.

Possible Future:
Depends, I guess. She is growing to like her powers, and doesn't really see the need to keep them a secret. It could end up getting her in trouble, but she's in that naïve stage of life where she's convinced she can handle anything happens.

Faction: Neutral … cuz... she's a chilrenz.

Extra:
Looking at her, it's easy to think she's just a normal kid. A lot of her hobbies are related to whatever is popular at the time.

She loves jumprope, and she loves animals.

“But I'm different/That doesn't count” is usually how she justifies a lot of her actions.

I think the weight limitations are reasonable, since she may be able to lift some furniture or other humans, but not a car etc.

Just a couple questions to make everything more clear to me: when she is flying can she carry others with her? If so is it limited to one passenger or what?
And is she able to lift the weight of her own panels? Or are the weights listed more like weights the panels themselves are able to lift? I am a bit confused at that hah.

I think this is interesting so once this is cleared up I think this will be a neat new addition!

Since the panels are only 3'x3' in size, at max she'd only be able to fit maybe 2 adults on a panel [If they don't mind hugging each other for dear life and actively trying not to fall off, lol]. 1 person could sit or stand on a panel just fine. Either way, the combined weight of anyone on the panel has to be much less than what her panel can lift in order for them both to be... well, lifted more than an inch off the ground... xD

She can lift as much as her panels are able to, but only in the sense of tying an airballoon to something. Not really pick up and chuck stuff. Plus she'd be holding on to whatever she lifts with her own little-girl strength. So yeah while she could eventually lift a fat cement block off the ground, she'd be straining to keep hold of it (and the moment she let go she'd probably go flying up into the air, lol).

Sorry for the confusion, hopefully this clear some things up. XD; I'm not the greatest at explaining things.

I bet this character is really good at making jam. Just think of all the household applications! The details line up to me. I approve.
