Dream

Given Name: Aurora Deathridge
Alias: Dream
Furcadia Alt: Aurora Deathridge
Species: Mutant
Gender: Female
Age: 16

All mutations and sub-mutations fall under "general brainy powers."
Mutation: Illusionist
*Can project and see through illusions (currently working on dissolving illusions, for herself and others)
*Can imitate voices and handwriting through illusions
*Can control and manipulate dreams (with varying efficiency and power) with a combination of illusionist powers and her telepathy

Secondary Mutation: Mild Telepathy
*Sensing Emotions and getting vague impressions of Thoughts

*Detecting Lies (because her telepathy is weak, this isn’t a reliable power and sometimes doesn’t work at all)
—————*Chances of Lie Detection based on a 1d100 dice roll:
*1-20 = Doesn’t detect the lie whatsoever
*21-40 = Has a slightly uneasy feeling, like something’s wrong
*41-60 = Feels like the person isn’t telling the truth, but won’t question them
*61-80 = Almost definitely knows the person is lying and might question them
*81-100 = Definitely knows the person is lying and will likely question them

*Can Project Thoughts & Feelings
-----*Chances of Projection Success on a 1d100 dice roll:
*1-20 = Target doesn't feel anything at all
*21-40 = Target feels a slight tickle or tingle in the head
*41-60 = Target feels slight discomfort and weak feeling or notion that is trying to be cast
*61-80 = Target feels a moderate emotion or notion, receives thoughts with moderate clarity
*81-100 = Target feels projected emotion almost completely, and projected thoughts stay on the target's mind until hours or even days afterwards.

Physical Description: A very short, thin, pale girl with bright auburn hair and green eyes. (Generally think of her as looking like Alexandra Breckenridge.)

Personality: Kind, polite and caring. She's a sweetheart inside and in, but often avoids social interactions.

History:
Aurora Deathridge, preferring to go by her chosen name “Dream,” was born to a wealthy, old, and well-known family from the British Isles. She was never quite what her parents wanted her to be, though she did try. From a young age (eighteen months) she was “off,” as described by psychologists and physicians alike. She would easily see through lies told to her by salesmen, TV characters, and her own parents. She’d also perfectly reflect their voices, although her inborn stutter never did go away when she did so. As she grew older her parents began to notice odd happenings surrounding their daughter. There would often be people and animals playing with the girl in her room, even though they knew she was alone, and they had no pets. She also seemed to have an uncanny ability to tell what people were feeling, and even seemed to know what they were thinking sometimes.

Though her parents refused to accept it, it was quite clear what their daughter was, and as she began piecing it together, she became more intent on bettering her powers. Through research, she learned that she was what would commonly be known as a “psychic,” though, despite the stereotype, at most she’d be able to tell what someone was feeling or guess at what they were thinking. She could, however, detect lies, and learned she was also able to control and manipulate dreams. She was born with an almost superhuman memory, and thus could copy any voice she heard, or forge any writing she saw. Another power she had was the ability to cast illusions, and thus see through them when others tried to do so to her. Mostly just a talent, though her genes probably enhanced it, she was also always a good student and a fast learner—superfast, in fact.

Dream was a young teen, in the second stretch of being thirteen, when she was taken hostage by a desperate family her own had wronged. Because her parents saw her as a disappointment, they did nothing to get her back, and though the leader of the family had few qualms about hurting her and giving her a large scar running from the corner of her left eye to the base of her chin, he couldn’t bring himself to kill her and let her go, though not after giving her a few more wounds that would later develop into scars she’d desperately hide.

She was sixteen when she decided to leave home and travel to America and study there, taking a boat to New York to further enjoy the journey.

Possible Future: She'd like to learn how to better control her powers, and how to manage the pain they cause her.

Faction: She could go either way.

Extra: Weaknesses -
*Terrible Stutter
*Very vulnerable to full Telepathy
*Suffers from Migraines
*Passes out a lot due to her headaches
*Bad Liar
*Can’t Dream
*Very easily confused due to mental overload
*Has a few phobias
*Not very confident

Sorry it's taken me a while to respond to this. It usually takes me a while to think over powers like these. I am a bit wary about telepathy-spectrum stuff, and I just want to make sure everything is nice and fair :)

That said, though, I think this is really thought out, and I am glad that someone is choosing to go with the illusion type power. It could be really fun- though also it is really easy to be overpowered. Though you have explained the strength of her power through dice roll, please remember to ask permission from a player, and ultimately they will be the ones deciding how strong they would like it to affect their character. (of course, many of our players will let you use a dice roll, so it is no big deal! I just think it would me more courteous :) )

I will approve, unless another mod has some qualms that I didn't catch.

I believe I am on the same page as Ruby here. You do seem to have a good grasp on this, and I believe the dice roll (plus consent from the other players) seems fair enough. So, I say
