Commander of Zero Station
Given Name: Vargas Theodore Brennan
Alias: Pathogen, Mysterious Man, One of those Brennan twins.
Furcadia Alt: Vargas Brennan
Species: Homosuperior
Gender: Male
Age: 29

Mutation:
Viral Synthesis - Vargas is able to synthesize any Airborne, Contact, or Waterborne illness and spread it into a person(s) or environment(s).

Having stored a latent strain of the illness in his own body, his cells are able to replicate them into an active illness and spread it through his breath, saliva, and pores.

Vargas, thus far, has only suffered from the Common Cold, Chickenpox and Strep Throat.

Though, having dealt with Chickenpox at such a young age, he is unable to replicate it.

Only in one case thus far has Vargas been able to synthesize a new illness, one he calls 'Rage'. It is named thus because the most common symptom is an uncontrollable rage that causes the victim to enact violence upon others. Rage targets the Limbic system in the brain, which causes a temporary and immense shift in emotion.

The emotion is calculated by rolling 1d20;
1 = Happiness
2 = Worry
3 = Terror
4 = Grief
5 = Loathing
6 = Serenity
7 = Distraction
8 = Vigilance
9-19 = Rage
20 = Berserk

Secondary Mutation:
Super-immune! - As with the nature of his mutation, Vargas' immune system is extraordinarily strong. This renders him immune to his own illnesses and heavily weakens any new ones that he may encounter.

Spicy Food Resistance - During his time spent in South America, Vargas' diet consisted of many different spicy Latino dishes. And everyone knows that being able to handle Latino cuisine on a daily basis is just otherworldly. Superhuman, I tell you!

Physical Description: Standing at 5'9", he is an athletic man, though no brute. With shoulder-length, straight, black hair normally flowing over his face. His skin is a deep olive, and his eyes black to match his hair. His nose is straight with little arc, being one of the most notable of his facial features besides his fierce resting face. His clothes are clean and dark, though one article is clear as day. A plain black bandanna covers everything between his collar bone and his nose.

Personality: Cold, often unresponsive to those he doesn't wish to bother with. To friends, however, he will treasure at a distance.

History: Vargas was born a fraternal twin to Lynn Brennan as well as sibling to many other Brennans. The two grew up close, their common fire for Soccer uniting them to be the most fearsome tag-team on the playground for years! As he reached adolescence, his powers surfaced about the same time as Lynn's. It's a twin thing. It was around this time that Vargas began to throw his dreams of being a Pro-Soccer player out the window. Noticing his sister's talent with helping sick animals, he secretly admired the talent. Especially since all of his pets seemed to need her help or die of illnesses he unknowingly afflicted them with. So, this drove him to want to go to college to learn how to make any medicine to heal anything! In short, a Pharmacist.

All through high school, he was an asset to the Soccer team until he'd broken his ankle mid-way through the season of his senior year. With this injury, recruiters wouldn't look at him twice. Which meant no free-ride scholarship to become a Pharmacist. With sub-par grades, his goals and ambitions were as good as gone. Crushed, he was absolutely outraged when he'd learned that his parents were putting all of their money towards his already successful twin's dreams. After graduation, Vargas ran away from home without a word. All he kept was the money he'd saved from a summer job, a few clothes, and toiletries. All in a briefcase. From here, he walked and hitchhiked his way to wherever he could find work. For two whole years.

Vargas was now a beaten young man. Working as a farm hand on a New Mexico cattle ranch, his work was as honest as it was difficult. Very. Until one fateful day. Two loaded convoys stormed up to the ranch. Mean poured out of the vehicles with guns pointed at every man and woman in sight. The elderly were shot in the backs of their heads. Everyone else was blindfolded and bound and loaded into the vehicles. After an hour's drive, everyone's noses were running. Every single person in the vehicle had caught the fastest-acting common cold in the history of the illness. But that didn't stop them. Still panicked, a few hours later, everyone had sore throats. They had to switch drivers twice, or so Vargas assumed by the various opening and slamming of the driver's side door.

When they reached their destination, they were pulled out of the truck, lined up, and had their blindfolds removed. Sold to a drug runner by the name of Pablo Escobar. Pablo was quick to discover that Vargas had talent, to Vargas' dismay. Strategically, Vargas was forced to deliver drugs to rivals and rival consumers alike, being transported all the way to Columbia to do so. The minor sicknesses only slowed their rivals down so much. Pablo, seeking a more permanent and damaging solution, pressed Vargas to develop a new illness. Unable to do so, his punishment was starvation. For days on end, Vargas was only given a glass of water to survive on. Every once in a while, they'd give him dry lettuce. Otherwise, he became so delirious and starved that he began eating the bugs in his cell.

Eventually, his delirium and enhanced emotional state created a nightmare called 'Rage'. A virus so potent that it would swell the victim's Limbic system, causing uncontrollable and blinding emotional shifts. With Pablo please, Vargas was well-fed and sent back out to work. Beaten. Broken. With his opponents crippled with maddening rage, they began getting caught for battery and murder charges that they couldn't help but commit, blinded by pure rage. Pablo became a king in the drug industry, spreading his wealth to the poor and into the community to purify his image to the public. At the height of his wealth, Pablo's employees weren't empty pockets either.

Vargas spent his share, small in part for his status as a slave, on better clothes and martial arts training. Valuable tools for his future. And his escape. It was a cold December day in 1993 when Vargas was one room away from Pablo in a middle-class neighborhood. Tasked with counting their profits from a successful drop, something felt wrong. Sure enough, Members of the Search Bloc surrounded the building. Vargas slammed the briefcase shut and was quickly armed with a handgun. Looking out the nearest window, he saw the numbers were great. Running to the other end of the building, the numbers were just as great. Things weren't looking good.

All held at gunpoint, Vargas put his skills to good use. The Search Bloc would immediately become infected with Rage, distracted by other drug runners attempting to escape. They were vigilantly giving chase. Before Pablo could express gratitude for his deeds, Pablo came to a gut-wrenching realization. He was alone in a room with a man he'd tortured and forced to commit crimes on his behalf for his own benefit. And that man had a gun. Without hesitation, Vargas shot Pablo right in the ear, clear through the head. Fleeing with the cash, Vargas spent nearly half of it in order to cross the border.

Only one thought lingering in his mind. One thought at how all of this hellish life had begun. How none of his dreams came true, and whom all of his pain was credited to.

Doctor.
Lynn.
Brennan.

Possible Future: I'd like him to learn how to synthesize more sicknesses. Maybe fictional, maybe real. Maybe both. I'm open to suggestions. Otherwise, he plans on having his revenge on Lynn and generally being an ass.

Faction: None yet. Those who share his goals will earn his allegiance. Temporary or otherwise.

Extra:
*Vargas speaks both Fluent English as well as Fluent Spanish.

Weaknesses
Mortality - Vargas is susceptible to Knives, Bullets, the Elements, and anything that could kill a mortal man.

Animals - Vargas holds a special place in his heart for animals and cannot bring himself to harm one purposefully. Even if he's attacked by one. He sympathizes with them in that they have been experimented on to create new vaccines and cures, and the horrors they've endured for humanity.

I didn't miss that you took Lynn's description and edited it to fit him! xD That is a nice touch. I don't have much to say since we have already talked about this character a lot before :) So this is me giving you my approval.
