Given Name: Terrance Shoals Alias: Terry Furcadia Alt: Terry Shoals Species: Homosuperior Gender: Male Age: 17 Mutation: Adoptive Muscle Memory: Basically Terrance is able to see someone do something physical, like fighting, dancing, parkour (just for examples) and be able to copy the moves how they were done. It's a pretty straight forward power, relying on his physical strength and other aspects (stamina, agility). He has gained an exceptional sense of balance. He could watch someone bench 500 pounds, but it doesn't mean that he can. His strength is that of an average human. Terry can't copy a move that is the result of a mutation, like dislocating joints to get through tight spaces or anything like that. His body might be able to mimic moves, but unless he practices them regularly he will not be used to doing those specific things and can't keep doing it for very long. Secondary Mutation: Body Language Analysis: Terrance is especially keen at reading body language. He can detect subtle changes in stance, vocals, and expressions. This makes him good at predicting moves and dodging. He's able to use these observations to tell (at least 80% of the time) when a person is lying. while he can predict what someone may do based on their body language, he wont always be able to respond fast enough. He doesn't have heightened reflexes or anything of the sort, even though he might be able to react faster than a normal person might be able to. It isn't the same thing. He also has to have seen how the person moves previously before he can accurately predict what they might be about to do. EDIT In addition to the previous (which is really something that anyone could do, so does it really count as a mutation?), I have discussed with Ruby the idea of introducing Terry's secondary mutation. Body Supremacy. For details and information, please read this. Physical Description: Terrance is about 6'1" on a good day, weighs about 210 pounds. He has blue-gray eyes and messy black hair that looks almost blue in the light usually hidden under a hat with some random sports logo on it. His skin is a healthy apricot/peach tone and remains mostly blemish-free. Like everyone else he does have a few scars but nothing major or something that defines who he is or how he lives. His scars don't tell a story, they're just there because he's been careless. He dresses comfortably in colors that contrast yet go well together. Personality: Terry is an outgoing, outspoken lad whose ideas are bigger than he is. Often he can be seen smiling and staring off into the sky as though exploring fond memories. When he's not daydreaming he's most often trying to help anyone who needs it. He's the type of person who loves to listen to other people talk and will be a shoulder to cry on. He's an understanding and friendly soul, trusting to an extent, and is generally cheerful. Terry always looks on the bright side of life even in the worst of times and is always up for some kind of adventure. History: There really isn't all that much to tell about Terry's history. He was an orphan and, like most orphans, was placed into an orphanage after his parents died in a horrific car crash. Luckily he was with a babysitter at the time, but because he had no other family he was given to the care of the state. His mutation was apparent from about the time he was just a year old. Or, maybe it wasn't! See, he learned how to walk at a very young age (even if he wasn't very good at it, being a baby and all). He was talking just a little after his first birthday, albeit in broken sentences and mostly mumbles. By the time he was adopted he could walk, run, talk, and was learning more every day. His adoptive parents were the Shoals. He gained what he had always wanted. A family. They had thought that they couldn't conceive a child so they resorted to adoption, and lavished all the love on him that they would have given to their own child if they'd had one. He was happy, thankful, and grateful for the family that had taken him in and vowed to do everything he could to make them proud of him. And he did! When he was enrolled in school he did the best he could. Over the years he excelled in his classes, especially in P.E., and had lots of friends. A year or two after he was adopted, his parents managed to conceive a child, a little girl that they named Paige. He was very happy to have a sister. He began learning how to fight in order to protect her from bullies, retaining the information. His body just knew what to do, copying moves he'd seen in movies and on television. He was especially interested in wrestling, and by the time that high school rolled around he was on several sports teams. Baseball, soccer, the wrestling team, track. Terrance was quite popular, but always made time for his sister, sometimes even skipping practices just to hang out with her. Even after she developed her own amazing mutation, he never shunned her and was even more interested in having her around. Mainly to impress his friends while at the same time helping her to hone her abilities. They relocated to Bayville during his junior year in high school, and he was enrolled at the local school there. He hasn't joined any teams yet, but he probably will. Either way, he's looking forward to the new town. Possible Future: He's got a love for design and creating. He hopes to either become an architect or a builder when he's off into the world on his own. Faction: Neutral Extra: EDIT After an unfortunate accident robbed him of his leg, he is no longer a lifeguard at the local swimming pool. He is in the process of finding a part time job for weekends. Terry sounds like someone Doug will get along with swimmingly! I see no problem with the mutation and I like that you have "just because he can, doesn't mean he will have the body strength to do it" as one of his limitations. Very nice foresight. I approve
