Given Name: Tangaroa Braxton Fletcher Alias: Phenomenon or Nom (Also goes by 'Roa) Furcadia Alt: Phenomenon Species: Homo-Sapiens Superior Gender: Male Age: 19 Mutation: Physical. Lizard appearance and attributes. Shoots poison barbs from his tail, and venom from under his tongue. Tail quills regenerate quickly (within ten minutes of being lost). Venomous bite. Feels vibrations, rather than relying on sight. Views the world in infrared thanks to heat sensitivity with his tongue and special sensors on his face and skull(much like a rattlesnake), but his eyes don’t work at all. This means his range with ‘sight’ is very limited, and he can’t see details in anything. Uses a very low rumbling noise to discern what something is comprised of (how hard it is determines how much sound is bounced back. It’s a form of low-level sonar, and is only useful in determining if something is solid enough to hold his weight.) ‘Hibernation’: This is a deeper sleep than humans have. It concentrates solely on healing and regeneration. If he loses a limb, he will often hibernate to help get it back. It will decrease regeneration time by a week if un-interrupted. However, he is very hard to rouse from his hibernating sleep, making him vulnerable. Weaknesses: Mortal creature. Physically blind. Sluggish in the cold. Vulnerable when shedding (Blind. Slowed. Lowered senses.): Sheds once per year, and this lasts up to three days. Vulnerable for 24 hours after shedding (Soft skinned. Somewhat slowed. Foggy senses.) Over-sensitive sense of smell and hearing. ‘Cold’ related powers such as ‘freeze’ or ‘ice’ cause extra damage. Back spike-quills regenerate slowly. They can take up to a month to come back if he doesn’t ‘hibernate.’ Vulnerable when hibernating. Secondary Mutation: Hardened skin/scales/plates (Skin is as hard as thick waxed leather. Scales (On back, forearms, and shins) are as hard as impact-resistant plastic. Plates (chest and throat) are as hard as 16 gauge steel). Healing factor (above human, but not nearly Wolverine’s level. He can regenerate limbs in a year or so, major wounds in a month, minor in a few hours. Extremely minor wounds heal in minutes.). Physical Description: Height: 6’0” Weight: 175lbs Mostly, he resembles an anthropomorphic iguana. His skin is mottled and tough, though immensely smooth and cold to the touch, like most lizards. Also like lizards, he is cold-blooded. His skin is a slightly yellow tint of a muted green, with darker, blue-ish stripes and spiral markings. The stripes thicken along the tail, and fade to an orange-brown color towards the tip. There are also areas of yellow-green around the heat-sensitive openings along his skull, and on his face, chin, and underbelly. His plates are a slightly more yellow color than this. These plates are along the inner-most part of his throat, and on his chest and belly. Red-brown spike-quill protrusions sprout from his head in a Mohawk, then follow the line of his spine down to his mid-back. They stop here, until the base of his tail, and then follow the tail bones all the way down to the tip, becoming thinner as they go. The thin quills on the last foot and a half of his tail are barbed and hollow, harboring poison. His hands and feet are clawed. His legs are digitigrade, and his feet are somewhat prehensile. Much like a lizard, as they’re mostly made for climbing. His tail is a full two feet longer than he is tall, helping with balance and quick direction changes. It can be used as a whip to an extent, as the end is harder than the fleshy base, and harbors few nerves. His eyes are golden slits that fade to green near the outsides. The eyes have no whites. Personality: Wary, but somewhat friendly. Extremely proud of what he is, regardless of his appearance. History: He was born to a Maori mother on the outskirts of a town in New Zealand. His father was English, but died before he was born from a bad heart, so he was raised by his mother. Because he was born blind, his mother chose to keep him apart from most people. Aside from a few close friends, Tangaroa was not often exposed to people. He grew up, learning how to overcome his physical blindness. His survival on the outskirts depended on it. So he often went into the forest with his mother and/or her friends to hunt or forage for food and supplies. They survived rather well until Tangaroa was nine. A deadly virus swept through the town’s slums (including his), and his mother and most of her friends became ill. He did his best to help, but he was quite bad at hunting on his own. So he made do with what he could forage. Despite his best attempts, and thanks to poor medical care in the area, nearly the entire population in the slums was wiped out. Including his mother. One of her friends, a Maori man named Ropata Muri, took him in. But it wasn’t long until Tangaroa began showing symptoms of the virus. It had most likely finally affected him due to malnutrition. He hung on through the illness, and began feeling much better a month later. But Ropata began to notice something was off. For some reason, all of Tangaroa’s hair fell out. And his senses began getting more adept. However, nothing more happened to him yet. This was only the beginning. When Tangaroa was ten, he was practically able to care for himself. Ropata continued to observe subtle changes in Tangaroa’s skin color. And one day, Tangaroa began feeling ill again. Only this time, it was immensely painful. His form changed and shifted into that of a lizard. Ropata said the forest must have willed it, and gave him clothing befitting his new form. However, Ropata knew that the phenomenon would not go unnoticed by the community. He went into the forest with Tangaroa. Seven years later, Ropata was bitten by a serpent in the forest. He died. Tangaroa buried him. But he didn’t like to be alone. So he began to search for others like him. Stealth had to be practiced. He was very nearly shot many times, trying to find another mutant. Soon, he knew he had to leave his homeland. So he hopped on a boat, hidden in the cargo, and left for America. His quest to find others like him has now brought him here. Possible Future: No idea. I really prefer for the character to evolve through RP. As for his powers- maybe his healing gets better as he evolves. Maybe the skin and scales get harder. Maybe his venom evolves. I don't really know. Faction: Neutral until someone chooses him (I find this to be more interesting. rather than Nom choosing a side, he will be loyal to whoever takes him in). Extra: His job will be determined on who picks him up as a team-mate. |

I've played with Nom before, and saw no issues with your playstyle there. Also your mutation fits well within our standards. I hope you have a great time here in Bayville! |
