Given Name: Ebony Carver Alias: Spark Furcadia Alt: Ebony Carver Species: Mutant Gender: Female Age: 26 Mutation: Electrokinesis
Weaknesses
Secondary Mutation: (Optional. You may have up to 2, and both must relate to the primary mutation.) Physical Description: Standing at 5'4" normal height, Ebony's hair normally is a sleek black that falls to her rear. Golden eyes are gentle and shy, and her skin a soft tan. Generally seen in any comfortable clothing. However, she has another form to her... one of pure energy. Her hair goes completely negative of its normal color, pure white, and her eyes shift from gold to silver. Personality: Generally quiet and shut off from the world mentally, only a few can truly get the woman to open up. But, once she deems others trustworthy, she's loyal to no end. History: A young girl, gifted with beautiful black hair and golden eyes, had found herself living in less than desirable conditions. But, she was happy. She had a family, friends, everything a young lady could ever ask for. When her family earned enough money to move into a new home, she was ecstatic. Though only fifteen, she was more than willing to help her family moving in. But, the day of the move, a sudden thunderstorm rolled in. In the rush to get what furniture into the house that they could, Ebony was carrying in a metal desk when a large bolt of lightning struck. Throwing Ebony in one direction, and the desk in another, the girl was knocked unconscious. She remained that way for months on end, even having to go on life support due to the length of time she was out. The day her family decided it was time to pull the plug was a fateful one for her, though. They didn't want to stay in the room to watch Ebony die, so they requested the doctors do so after they left. However, miraculously, even with the life support off, Ebony's body still continued to tick. She was awake within a few minutes after the plug was pulled, but barely knew where she was. Before her family doctor could call her parents to tell them the news, another doctor came into the room, requesting to take her case. This was where Ebony's life changed forever. The man who took her case on called himself Doctor Kurt Kato. Over the years, Ebony was subjected to many experiments. Kato knew she was not a normal child, for many who had been struck as such had not survived, especially after having been unconscious for so long. Ebony became nothing more than a tool for Kato, especially after another of his mutant 'experiments' had escaped before he could gain full control of her. It was during this time Ebony's abilities over lightning kicked into high gear, forcing Kato to put a limiter on her. Little Ebony, though, was turning into the perfect minion for him. Sent out to try to capture the escaped mutant, her first mission, she was ordered not to use her powers. But basically having been turned into a mutant robot and having certain skills 'downloaded' to her, martial arts and a basic understanding of how to kidnap was used to get the targey she was sent after. Not the escaped mutant, but someone she considered a friend. Her friend kidnapped, it was easy to sway the main target to come along quietly. However, the mission of this was not quite successful, and the base that was being used ended up crumbling after yet another friend of the escapee came to the rescue. Kato wasn't pleased with Ebony's failure, and set her out to try again, this time with no backup except her powers. But, he had a more devious plan in store. Her target was again the man she'd kidnapped before, but as the man was talking to her, Kato was spouting orders over an earpiece in Ebony's ear. Finally getting irritated with Kato's voice in her ear, she yanked the earpiece out and attempted to zap it with her powers. Kato knew she would try this, and had a device implanted in her head that turned her charge around to attack her instead. This was one of her weaknesses. Ever should she be hit with her own lightning, it was highly likely to either knock her out or possibly even kill her. Luckily, it just knocked her out. But, instead of letting Kato get his hands on Ebony again, the mutant she'd been sent after took her to a safe house for medical attention and protection. She was able to snap out of Kato's control over the time staying with him and his team, and though rather apologetic, she finally found a new way to think for herself. But, Kato's voice still rang in her mind. She was able to ignore it for a while, but the words would increase in volume, bringing the poor woman back into a world of insanity. One day, the voices broke her into a full-blown panic attack, resulting in her full power being released. Her friends were able to calm her down, but only after she had zapped her own head to make the voices stop. Kato knew she would attempt this as well, but would go silent to give the illusion that she had been successful. However, her friends were quick to discover a device implanted in her head, thanks to the abilities of the doctor in the house. They were on the way to have the device safely removed when Kato rather abruptly stopped them. Ebony became a captive again, as well as the doctor friend. While captive, Ebony tried hard to act the part of the robot Kato had created. But she just wasn't anymore, and her plans to try to run with the doctor resulted in a worse situation for the both of them. Collared and under Kato's control again, she was forced to do his bidding once more. The good doctor wasn't in much better standing. Taken out to the streets, Ebony was set to cause havoc, but ordered to not actually harm any humans. The fight wasn't long, the friends she had made quickly realizing she herself wasn't in control of her powers. They were able to free Ebony and the doctor, but not without injury to a good few on both sides. An anti-mutant group that had supposed to be working with Kato grabbed Ebony up in the confusion of a machine causing interference with the mutants powers, and once that machine was taken down, they made their statement before hitting her with another ray that would weaken her further. The gathering crowd grew scared, and went after Ebony in her weakened state, only to find the woman to be pulled out of the line of fire by another lightning based mutant. Honor among mutants. And others of the mutants were attempting to quell the fear in the crowd. But by this point, Ebony was quite unconscious. Waking up not long later, and in quite a bit of pain, within a large mansion, she found herself laying on a sofa. Glancing around, she saw her hero unconscious on the floor, but remembering vaguely that he'd absorbed her lightning from the fight, she had an idea. It was painful, but she reached down to where he lay, letting a small pulse of her own electricity flow into him. It revitalized him, though he was still quite exhausted. Regardless, he took her down to the infirmary to have her injuries assessed. Cracked ribs, a hairline fracture on her wrist, and a slight crack in the bone just under her right eye, the medic did what he could with his own abilities to fix her. She was stable now, but still rather terrified and requested her hero stay with her. Possible Future: We'll let Fate decide... Faction: Currently hiding out at Xavier's... not sure where she'll go, but she's highly likely to follow her hero, otherwise known as Cedric Morrison... >> Extra: Uber clingy to a certain male... Obviously you've already had some play with Ebony during events, so of course I know you can handle this character. I approve, too. |
