Given Name: Avery Marks Alias: Augury Furcadia Alt: Augury Species: Homo Superior (technically) Gender: Was male, technically now has no gender, though he still uses male syntax. Age: 40 Mutation: Augury basically died to become what he is now. He 'absorbed' the nearby metal he was mining, and became mostly synthetic. His physiology is thus more titanium alloy and steel than it is organic compounds. As such, he has fewer physical weaknesses than a pure organic human would. He is stronger, faster, and better in almost every way. His mind is a machine, and he has lost almost all emotion. However, his appearance is monstrous, and he doesn't bother with an image inducer, though he could easily build one. His body manufactures nanites (nano-machines) to help him repair and rebuild himself, as well as gather information from organics. He has more senses than a human would, viewing the world with more than just his eyes, but this sensor array is not infallible. While he could see a heat signature from someone who is invisible, he would be blind to someone with a natural or technological cloak that masked their presence. For instance, he could see Mrs. Fantastic, but not Nightcrawler. Important knowledge, a backup power generator unit, and his nanite core are stored in his head, so his head is the hardest part to destroy. Excess knowledge is stored in his chest, within what he calls his 'core.' This is because his chest also houses his central power core, which is powered by an unknown (and powerful) core battery, which creates the strange glowing blue fluid that powers the rest of his components. The blue energy in him also created a shield around him, but this sucks up energy, and is not permanent. The shield can be punched through, also, it simply aids him in battle. The nanites: He has to refresh these with fresh material (whether organic or inorganic) at least one per year- more, if he is damaged. They repair any part of him within a week unless he is heavily damaged, or his head is removed (as then he can only use the nanites to try and convert other matter into a new body if the old one is thus destroyed). The nanites break down materials and create more nanites, storing the data of whatever the material was. If the material is organic, memories are stored as data, and become part of his consciousness (unless the memory core is destroyed, in which case he loses all previous knowledge, and must begin again with just his base and uploaded 'important' knowledge). To use the nanites, he can dig his 'claws' in and push them in through openings in his fingers, or he can spray the nanites on through his mouth. The blue energy: It self-replicates, so he doesn't require a charger. However, if he uses too much power, he does require recharge time. And no, even I have no idea what it is- probably the same type of energy as the Tesseract, simply less potent. Weaknesses: Strong magnetic fields. He can be damaged by bullets- it just takes more than it would for a human. If he loses his head, and his body is destroyed, he's rendered completely useless until he can convert enough material to make a new one. If a limb is destroyed, he must convert material to replace it. His sensors are limited to this universe, so anyone passing by in the astral plane or through another dimension are outside his purview (ie Doctor Strange or Nightcrawler). He can be damaged by extreme heat as well, like a laser beam, though it might take a small amount of time to get through his shielding. Naturally, he can be easily cut by adamantium or vibranium. It would, however, take four shots of a blade, even of this strength, to penetrate his shielding, since it shields him from kinetic force. High explosives penetrate the shielding in one or two strikes, depending on strength, since they have a great deal of kinetic force. He can drain his energy if he uses his hand-blasters too much, and this could make him weak for an hour or more, depending on how badly he drained himself. Since what emotions he does have are muted, he will probably never have a real friend. Only allies and enemies. Secondary Mutation: In the palm of his hands is a small energy generator, which can concentrate his blue energy into short blasts. these are not unlimited, as it drains his power to use them too much. Physical Description: A thing so strange, one could not classify it as human. It had a human's shape, but its flesh was nothing of the sort. Instead of muscle, its flesh was a combination of lithe black musculature and gunmetal synthetic structure with bright blue tube structures lining some of its muscle features, making it look more machine than man. Hardened metallic structures looked to be protecting its center, armoring its forearms, or and reinforcing its jaw. Its face is more gray than black, so its fine 'human' features are evident, and its black hair is neatly trimmed. It has hard sharpened finger-ends, rather than nails. Its eyes were black pits with bright blue cybernetic occuli within. Its expression is stoic. It dresses tactically, and seems to have once been male. Height: 6'2" Weight: 320lbs (mostly metal weight). Personality: Mostly stoic, but he loves to poke fun at organics. History: Twenty-nine years ago, Avery was a normal kid. He was raised in a broken home, but didn't really care. He knew he was loved. Or, at least, he thought he was. His mother was killed by his father that year, and he was sent to work in a foundry. Each day, he was surrounded by tons of liquid hot metals- steel, titanium, gold. If it was forged into weapons or technology, it was smelted in this foundry, deep in the heart of a third-world country he barely remembers. Years passed, and he grew strong, hands calloused, and emotions darkened. He swore to escape his slavery. But he underestimated the guards. He was shot, and he fell against the controls of one of the larger foundry machines. Fresh steel clamored down onto him, knocking him into a pit of scrap metal. Assuming him dead from the force of the impact, the guards left his corpse to be recycled with the rest of the scraps. However, the bullet lodged in his gut activated his X-gene, and the metal scraps surrounding him melded into his flesh. Down, down, he went, into the pile of scraps. This spelled the beginning of the end for the foundry. No one could have predicted the man who fell to become a monster, absorbing everything and everyone who stood in his path when he clawed his way out of the scrap pile. Human and machine alike were converted, and Avery became Augury. He lost who he was. And now, he looks for a new purpose. Possible Future: I prefer to play this one out. xD Faction: Magneto. Extra: (Augury pretty much means 'harbinger,' and Ruby will understand why this will forever amuse me). Reference pic: ![]() Also- last character, I swear. I just want ONE bad guy! xD Blight is half-played by Valk now anyways. xD Edited by Phenomenon, Aug 13 2015, 10:59 AM.
