HELLO EVERYONE, Young & Old: May I be honoured to introduce to you the very first forum made for "Be The Minority". In case you haven't heard of us, let me tell you who we are and what we stand for. A lot has gone around and life just keeps getting better and we are all holding strong for the very best of things yet to come. It is thanks to a number of helpful hands, open hearts and loving souls that we are who are today. We are not just a group of acquaintances who gather for the sake of conversation, rather we are a family who gather here to seek refuge for the prosperity for all, no matter who the person is, and we love them no matter what. Listed below are a few questions some people have asked me, and here are my answers to the best of my knowledge - if you have more, I invite for you to post them in the "Reply" section below, and I will answer them as soon as I can. Thank you So, who are we ("Be The Minority"), anyway? "Be The Minority" is an anti-discrimination/anti-bullying movement in the cosplay community, where we believe in strong faith that cosplay is for everyone. No matter what gender, sexual orientation, race, age, ethnicity or genetic background they may have, we treat everyone fairly as much as they wish to be treated amongst themselves. I stand up just as anyone else might to represent the majority of voices left neglected to allow them to be heard and acknowledged to, not thrown down and left to demonstrate more bitterness. What conventions have I been to? I have been to a number of conventions in my life; some bigger than other's, but in all, about six different ones in total. Anime Detour (Bloomington, MN, U.S.A.): 2008, 2009, 2010, 2013 AniMinneapolis (Minneapolis, MN, U.S.A.): 2012, 2014 Convergence (Minneapolis, MN, U.S.A.): 2009, 2011 FargoCon (Fargo, ND, U.S.A.): 2006 Festival of Nations (Saint Paul, MN, U.S.A.): 2005, 2006, 2007 ComiCon (San Diego, CA, U.S.A.): 2003, 2004Why represent the minority? The best way I can explain it is to subject it through my past. I feel that from my experiences in my much bullied childhood that I should participate in an organization such as this to help prevent it from happening to anyone and everyone out there. Pre-adolescent individuals are constantly being harassed on a day to day basis, and some resort to self-inflicting injuries that linger for a lifetime. Such trauma is stressful enough to know that proper morals should be accounted for, and as such, we are responsible for the outcome of the few as much as the many. Maybe, if we can make the world a more peaceful place to live in, life won't need as much conflict and we can enjoy the company without much doubt and chaos to wreck it for us in the end. Where is "Be The Minority" based in? My friends, @Toriachan and @KawaiiRiott first began this community sometime last year in their home state of Tennessee in the United States of America. I met @Toriachan at Anime Detour of Minneapolis, MN, U.S.A. in 2012 after a photoshoot at the convention;s rave and we began discussing plans to make this group a big thing not too long before the winter of 2013.
