The dining hall was busy with faculty, staff, and students eating breakfast before their next class of the day. The aroma of pancakes, eggs, and more importantly, bacon, caked the air drawing more and more victims to the delicious morsels of food. The sound of sneakers squeaking on the tiled floor was quickly heard as the clock was about to strike 11:00am, signaling the end of breakfast, and the start of lunch--when the bacon, eggs and pancakes would leave the floor and fries, cheeseburgers, and hot dogs would appear in its place. Black converse soon were seen following the squeaking, adorned by a shaggy haired boy with thick rimmed black glasses, he would be damned if he missed breakfast...again. As he was shuffling into the dining area, he saw the dining staff worker picking up the oven mitts to take away his bacon and his eyes flashed orange...ripples of energy passed from his body into the air of the dining hall and all the faculty, staff, and students eating froze, the clock on the wall's hands were frozen directly on 11:00am, suspended in the air, and a smile beamed from Colby's face. Sliding over to the bacon, he reached over the counter and grabbed a plate and some bacon, one pancake and some eggs. He was not missing breakfast. |

Mac took a sip of her pumpkin hot coffee, which had cream only due to the intense sugary taste the pumpkin syrup gave her coffee as she walked from the parking lot into the student center. She was taking her time, as it wasn't quite 11:00am yet and she already had breakfast. Right now, all she wanted was a greasy cheeseburger with french fries. Grasping the cold handle of the door, she readjusted her bag on her shoulder and moved inside. The sound of her heels clicking on the tile made her smile, it was one of her favorite sounds, it made her feel powerful. As she moved down the steps into the dining area, she paused. What she saw was something she had only ever seen in movies and TV; everyone was frozen. She knew it wasn't some performance art piece because there was a paper airplane suspended in mid air, thrown by one of the people frozen. She arched a fine black brow and took a sip of her coffee before she moved through the frozen tundra of people. She wasn't scared, she knew what this meant. She had studied things like this before, the only difference was, most of the supernatural beings she met, or knew about, were already dead and on the cold slab in her office. Moving to where the food was, she saw the cause of what was occurring, a young man currently grabbing some bacon. She stood there for a moment before she cleared her throat. "You stop time for bacon? Out of all the things you could pause time for, you chose bacon?" |

Colby was just taking a bite of one of the strips of bacon when he heard someone clear their throat, and a girl's voice. He jumped, which caused time to start moving again, and everyone continued on with their business without knowing he had done anything. He swallowed, after choking a bit on his bite and laughed nervously, "Ha, um, yeah....want a piece?" He pushed his plate outward toward her. "Also, if you could, um, you know, not tell anyone about this, that would be great..." He said with a half smile, his eyes pleading her. |
