random Paper Fallout thing I started writing tonight that could be the prologue if you think this isn't horribly dumb -so, if you read the above, you'll sort of get... well, the gist of what I'm proposing -basically, it'll be a separate and potentially in an alternate universe of the current Paper Fallout world if we decide to make it so -it'll take place fifty years before the three Vaults with the original Paper Fallout guys open, and maybe before any of the major factions (NMR, Sons of Bowser, Shy Brotherhood, etc) either show up in the main Paper Fallout wasteland or are even formed in the case of like maybe the NMR or Sons of Bowser. As for the Shy Brotherhood and Enclave, I always thought they were similar to Fallout's. Shy Brotherhood formed like right after the Great War, and the Enclave's just always been around. -everybody (the two or three NWers that maybe join) will come from the same Vault and have the same goal: get parts to fix the Vault and find a location suitable for making into a civilization (if we decide to somehow have it fit in with the actual Paper Fallout story, I have some ideas for this.) -one of the big things that made Paper Fallout such a bitch is we have to write for a whole bunch of characters, them being grouped up already solves this and is actually important in this one -it taking place only fifty years after the bombs dropped hugely changes how the wasteland is. The locations are largely the same, but most of the civilizations are not yet formed and/or are tiny. Various locations have been looted less, but the presence of raiders and hazardous wildlife is way more amplified. Radiation is also increased. -the story would be the vault dwellers exploring this much, MUCH more violent and hazard wasteland in hopes of saving their Vault (aka Fallout 1) while also finding a suitable place to form a new society and rebuild (Fallout 4's settlement building angle). -beyond fixing both the Vault and forming and building the settlement, I have some vague ideas for... those that would oppose the settlement. -players have been somewhat prepared and trained for this eventuality like most Vault dwellers of Vault 9. Thus, they start out with one SPECIAL perk and two/one skill perks. -The Vault offers some supplies and equipment (to be determined by us) to take out into the wastes. The Vault Dwellers can only take a limited number of things each. Starting items range from okay to good, as the wasteland is a very dangerous place. -Also, their Vault Jumpsuits are lightly armored. Not as good as the armored suits in 3/NV, but better than just a normal Vault Jumpsuit. -This "better start" is because the wasteland is meant to be a much harder place to survive in this time around, and also it's somewhat to make up for the fact that this would be basically a complete restart sort of kind of. Pros to doing this: -Would be able to reuse the locations of the wasteland we already built, but tweak them quite a bit. -I kind of think it'd be interesting. Especially if we find a way to somehow tie it into the original Paper Fallout story in the chances of continuing it too eventually. -It's a fresh way to "restart" Paper Fallout. -Everybody would start off as a group. -To start this, we would not have to go back and read what we wrote like a year ago to be able to start it. -This could be a much smaller scale story with no gigantic faction war between like four or five factions/more focused story because it's one group rather than like five people scattered across the wastes. -Could reuse a lot of the items we already had for the original Paper Fallout. Cons to doing this: -Starting a new Paper Fallout -Won't be the same characters from before -I do not even want to consider how we would cleanly and perfectly tie both Paper Fallouts together without being an inconsistent mess. Specifically the them having to find and build a new civilization. Granted, we could simply add it into the original Paper Fallout map and act like it was there the entire time. Or, perhaps just have the civilization have disbanded at some point before another fifty years pass. -No or little NMR, SoB, Brotherhood and Enclave. No huge faction war. But let's be honest, with the rate of how the original Paper Fallout was progressing, it would have taken years for such a war to happen. -This was going to be a con for the original Paper Fallout too if we did actually restart that, but November 10th I'm literally dead for at least three weeks or more depending on the size and funness of Fallout 4 Edited by Atticus, Oct 10 2015, 06:18 PM.

IMPORTANT NOTE, we must keep the ideas for these relatively brief. No overdoing it like last time. It would be better if we came up with at least a bit of it on the spot/as we write them exploring these areas. MAP LOCATIONS

Additional idea to potentially keep the story somewhat structured: -A senior and more knowledgeable/experienced Vault Dweller will be assigned to go along with your group as your group's leader. Sort of like how they did with Nintendo Trails. He would not control where the group went (things are decided on a democratic basis), but would offer advice, and perhaps weigh in on more important decisions. He knows just as little about the wasteland as everyone else, but is more capable of a leader than most of the others in the group. -Given how crazy or strange some Vault Dwellers have proven to be, it makes sense for the Overseer to wish to send someone they know that is reasonable to guide/lead them, rather than just dumping a couple of random Vault Dwellers out and saying "done" -He can and will most likely eventually die. Or, we could kill him off for story reasons if we so choose. -Otherwise, the group may have absolutely no idea where to go next. -Maybe make it a pickable thing/thing that can be voted on? Like there's several potential leaders, but they all have a different trait that makes them useful in a specific way. Someone who can scout, someone who can repair things good, a doctor, etc. -the region that Koopolis is in had a really bad raider problem until the SOB purged them, right? We could have that part of the map be one big raider hive. -Kindling can be infested with a massive hoard of ghouls, and some of the older wastelanders can be camped outside also, young/somewhat old Lean who's being kept alive by the Crystal Star he's hiding with him. -Glitz's End is going to be basically what it was before, but the raiders there are MUCH, much more violent towards outsiders.
