Hey everyone! Rain here to help you get on your way to creating the most beautiful character profile of your dreams... okay maybe not too pretty. I'm still learning code like a lot of people. Regardless here are the following items that would be good things to have in your character profile in some way or another.
A general code has been laid out, but it is by no means the old way you can create your profile. I've seen some very code-pretty pages before on other sites so go at it with creativity! Feel free to share your own codes for profiles as well if you are ambitious enough.
Descriptions of what each thing is follows the code part of the profile. If anything doesn't make sense ask staff or see if any members who have been through the process before can help you out.
- Code:
-
[b]Name:[/b] (Full name, nicknames, or titles you might have)
[b]Gender:[/b] (Pretty self explanatory)
[b]Age:[/b] (including a date of birth might be recommended so you can track your characters age. Any age is accepted, but a common age to find yourself whisked into Bewilderness is between 18-25)
[b]Race:[/b] (Anything and everything is acceptable here. Though be it known if you choose a not-human race you will be expected to explain your race's strengths, weaknesses, drawbacks, goals, general culture, habits, etc further down in your profile.)
[b]Land of Origin:[/b] (You can come from anywhere, any cannon... well almost. No sparkly vampires... so the world of imagination, books, and movies is your sandbox. Of course, no blatant ripping. There will be no named characters from anything copyrighted allowed, but influences are welcomed. Just put us in the loop of where you came from.)
[b]Treetops Abode:[/b] (Optional. You can request an abode in the Treetops Village at any point. Click [url=http://w11.zetaboards.com/Betwixt_Hedgegroves/topic/9111137/1/#new]HERE[/url] to see how the process works.)
[b]Physical Appearance:[/b] (Even though a picture is worth thousands of words, yatta yatta, a written telling of your character is always more interesting. Basic things like face structure, hair and eye color, etc are a given, but also consider things like deforms/scars, perfection, regularity, mutations, etc.)
[b]Personality[/b] (This is your chance to really tell everyone who your character is. Their likes, dislikes, quirks, anger issues, psychological issues, personal issues, outward behavior, inner monologues, etc. This is your chance to make your character shine, so let us all in, won't you?)
[b]History:[/b] (This is almost the most important part of your application. The past leading up the the point where you were whisked away into Bewilderness is a critical aspect of your character. This is THE MOMENT that will stick with them for the rest of their lives, sway their opinions, how they make friends, and interact with others. What made your character so desperate growing up they had to be swept into another world? Remember, you can have your origin be from any plant, world, universe, time period, and more. Have fun with it.)
[b]Personal Inventory/Equipment:[/b] (Character's personal belongings that do not have any sort of ability or weapon possibility. Overall it is trusted nothing crazy is put in here, but if this trust is broken this gets placed in the staff only edit area. Personal non-changing items will remain in personal edit area.) _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
[b][i]((This area, as honor-system as we are here on Betwixt Hedgegroves, will still be separate from your can-edit aspect of your completed profile. This way the powers, abilities, and knowledge-areas your character has are both separate from the bulk profile, and are still staff kept and organized to keep from. This portion can be labeled, coded, and/or structured however you deem fit and necessary.
Powers and abilities here at Bewilderness do not need to have originated from your character while they were living their regular life. Most characters will be affected by their trip though the hedgegroves and come out in Bewilderness with powers. Because of this most characters will be weaker and inexperienced to start. That is not to say you must be weak-starting, but it is strongly encouraged/))[/i][/b]
[b]Season-Bound:[/b] (Have you chosen a Court and a Faerie Queen to support? This is not a light decision to make and should be made with a clear head and sound heart. New characters will be Neutral unless permission is otherwise granted.)
[b]Path:[/b] (Everyone chooses a path to follow in Bewilderness, be it magical, physical, or intellectual. This path begins broad then becomes more narrow the further into your apprenticeship you get.)
[b]Dedication:[/b] (The specific goals your character has. Equivalent to earning a degree or certificate - a Dedication often relates to the Path chosen and helps to organize the many talents of Bewilderness into more manageable groups.)
[b]Knowledge:[/b] (Anything that would be something learned and retained goes here. Organization is up to you.)
[b]Magic Spells:[/b] (Here is where all your magic based abilities can be listed. How it's organized and structured is up to you.)
[b]Racial Abilities:[/b] (Same as above, organized how you will)
[b]Training:[/b] (Same as above, organized how you will)
