Chapter 1: Song of Departures Lorenia is a place of fantasy and wonder, where magic, swords, and mythical creatures exist hand in hand. A place where no one would think destruction or madness could exist. But this is not true. This world has seen its fair share of conflict. Darkness, like magic and martial arts, manifests in many forms, amplifying the emotions and the desires of the ones it chooses. It may be wielded as a force for justice, peace, and protection. But, it is also capable of being used as a weapon of death, destruction and chaos. Many years ago, when Lorenia's first forms of civilization came to exist, there were three cities imbued with powerful magic, the floating cities. Mespita, the city of knowledge and the past. Gepurta, the city of combat and the present. Skypeta, the city of observation, connections, and the future. But these cities were fated to never last forever. Skypeta was never recognized as a city, as it sometimes disappeared for years before becing visible once again. Gepurta was the second to disappear after falling under attack, it's magic source destroyed, the city eventually fading into shadow. Mespita was the last to fade, but also served as the home for many people who would come to be known as the things of heroes and legends. It was during the second generation of heroes that Mespita was destroyed by the current generation of Pullurex Kings. This brings us to our next story, the heroes of the world. Mespita existed over Lysar Continent, which these heroes came to be known as their origin in stories. When the Pullurex Kings came to power, their most powerful ruler, Addonexus, took over rule of Mespita. In order to bring down the dark king, a first generation of heroes came together in a struggle against him. The first generation came to be composed of many of the strongest people of the time, originating from the magical families of the Tohomiko, Hikaru, and Horigoshi, as well as those from the families belonging to the summoner guardians and the dark emperors. These people fought their hardest and eventually felled the Pullurex ruler. Unfortunately, these heroes met a tragic fate during the course of the second generation's journey. The second generation was composed of the descendants of the first generation of heroes. The Hikaru and Tohomiko descendant Sakura, The Horigoshi brother's Settan and Terence, Artix of the summoner guardians, Sorioku of the dark emperors, as well as a few new members Saffron Robinson and Aimee Memoria Soleil. These young heroes were faced against the descendant of Addonexus, Celeron, and his growing empire. Celeron's overtaking resulted in the deaths of many first generation heroes and resulted in the fall of Mespita onto Lysar Continent. The second generation, through much hardship, was able to fell Celeron's rule. Their story however, did not end there. As the days went on the heroes separated and began traveling across the world in search of training and becoming stronger in their particular focuses. When they all reunited, their new and greatest task was to protect the world from the new evil arising from an island emanating a dark energy that ruined the continents it swept over. With much journeying and combat, the second generation managed to destroy the island and restore the world to its former state, also resulting in the restoration of the three floating cities. It was there that the second generation's story ended. But the stories and the hardships of Lorenia were not over. With a new threat growing, a new generation is now forming to combat it. It is now the advent of newer technology, with magic starting to become a dying art, now becoming the stuff of legend. The story of the third and final generation of Lorenian heroes begins now with the descendant of the Tohomiko, Hikaru, and Horigoshi lines, Saivour Tohomiko Horigoshi. † Saivor Saivor opened his eyes slowly as he awoke from his sleep, the sunlight in his eyes. He raised a hand to block the rays, smiling as he felt the warmth of the blanket, complemented by the warming rays of the sun. He moved the blanket off of him as he sat up, revealing his black T-shirt and the tattoo on his right arm of three intersecting swords. As he turned his head his dragon tail hair moved like a rope hanging from a ledge. He listened with his ears to the sounds from outside the room. There was the hustle and bustle of people, the sound of children playing, and the echoing wheels of carts. Saivor sighed softly as he looked down at the light blue blanket. Saivor: "I guess he's still not back. It's about two years now since he left. What could have happened?" Saivor got up from the bed, showing his black cargo pants as his feet touched the floor. He went over to his clothing drawer, opening the top shelf and pulling out a long flowing black headband. After a series of wrapping and tying he moved his hand away, the headband sitting snugly over his forehead with his hair over it. In the back the headband wrapped around the base of the dragon tail and for the first fourth before flowing freely down. He also reached in and put on a pair of gloves, the one on his left being black, reinforced on the back, and fingerless. The other was reinforced at the palm and shared the same appearance. Saivor put on his black shoes before moving to the nearby closet, opening it and taking out a dark grey vest with a black interior, putting it on. With that he pulled out a series of weaponry, six push daggers that fit into the customized pockets on his pants, two long daggers that fit in as well, and a bangle with seven arrowheads on it, slipping it onto his left wrist. Finally, he pulled out and aged looking katana. The sword had tassels attached that were black and white, as well as an arcane looking rune dangling from the end as well. Saivor sighed again as he strapped it to his back. Saivor: "Dad, where could you have gone?" ???: "Saivor, breakfast is ready!" Saivor: "Alright Mom, I'm heading down!" Saivor responded to the call with a calm raise voice. With that he headed down the stairs to the area below. His home was fairly simple, although definitely discernible as a higher rank than a common person's home. The entire inside of the house's walls was etched with faintly glowing magical runes of different colors, scratched lightly into the wood. As for the steps, they were made of stone. Saivor reached the bottom of the steps, looking through the large room. A fresh smell of fruits permeated the air. Saivor closed his eyes and breathed in the scent, smiling. It was his mother's cooking after all. He rounded the stairs and went into the area underneath, where his room was placed directly above. It was a small table for five at the maximum, and on the table was fresh pancakes filled with blueberries, strawberries, chocolate, and other sorts, with different kinds of syrups to go with it. Saivor: "Wow Mom, you went overboard today!" A woman emerged from the kitchen nearby, her dark brown with red highlited hair falling to just above her waist in waves. Her amber brown eyes closed as she gave a warm smile. She was wearing an apron for her work in the kitchen, but underneath you could see a floral pattern dress with frills at the bottom of the skirt. Age was kind to her features, as no wrinkles had yet to form on her face. Sakura: "I got up early and felt in an extremely good mood! Plus, the fruits in the garden were all ripe, so there was no point in letting them go to waste!" Sakura smiled cheerfully at her son, who gave a soft smile back as he nodded and sat down. Sakura: "So, what are you thinking of doing today?" Saivor: "Well, I was thinking of possibly training today. Even with Dad away I want to try and keep to the schedule we had before." Sakura: "Oh, would you like my help? I'm sure I could at least help with your magic and summoning spells." Saivor: "Hehe, that's alright Mom. I should probably learn this part on my own anyway. If I get too much help it'll be no benefit to me right?" Sakura smiled warmly as Saivor finished his sentence. Sakura: "You've really grown up Saivor." Saivor: "Haw Mom, you say that all the time." Sakura: "It's true though..." Sakura smiled as she turned to face the light of the sun that was shining through the window. Sakura: "I still remember when you were very young and your Dad had to keep an eye on you so you wouldn't run into something. To think that you really have come so far from then...Oh! I'm sorry, I'm getting nostalgic." Saivor smiled as he turned and put an arm on the top of his chair. Saivor: "Heh, Mom, you spoil me too much. It's gonna go to my head you know." Saivor pointed to his left temple as he said so. Sakura smiled and nodded. |
