When the sitting, standing or sleeping posture differs from the natural spinal curve then your muscles are stretched and when it crosses the limit you experience discomfort. Seeking medical advice on correct posture habits and back pain therapy is advisable especially if the pain is obstructing your daily functions and even mild activities seem to trigger your recurrent pain. Most doctors advise rest and restrain the patients from doing strenuous activities for some days but if the pain is due to an underlying medical condition then hospitalization and detailed tests are done to rule out major diseases of greater concern. For treating back pain external application of some medicated oils can be applied or for smaller pains of lesser magnitude topical ointments are also used which are available in most drug stores. There are various fields of medicine like modern medicine, siddha Ayurveda and there are even findings that endorse the utility of each of these fields for various diseases and one can choose the type of therapy that suits the person. Sometimes mild stretching exercises and yogic techniques like relaxation and practicing certain poses with advice from a yoga therapist might be sufficient to help you with your back pain. Sometimes calming your mind and relaxing are just enough to ease your back pain as stress and tension are also reasons for which back pain occurs. Back pain due to an internal injury needs surgical invention and home remedies may not be of much help in such cases. |
