I've been giving this some thought and experimenting with my little feathercoin rig. I will most likely use a multiple pool strategy. There are a number of reasons why I think this is a good idea, the main one being if one or two of the pools go down for example, the miner will continue on mining without interruption on the third and maybe fourth pool. Also it seems payouts are a little better as you mine multiple blocks, you get more of the swarm working on confirms for all of your work. This strategy also spreads out the work throughout the net and helps keep hash rates in balance. I'm going to use one address for all the mining between all of the pools and payout from that address also to keep tracking as easy and straightforward as possible. There was some thought on using two different addresses, one for mining and one for payout but I decided against it as it would create a larger and more complicated paper trail. I should also have the block explorer link pinned to the announcement page when I get the miner running. |
