I think A and B of Trei's idea would work well with the skill tree system me and Ken were discussing |

I don't like B. I really don't like B. In fact you could easily say I hate it. |

character A or B example is what I'm going for, primarily. Things were just too damn complicated before so I'm wanting to not have to look at five topics of information to know whether or not I can kick someone in the face. |

The only difference between A and C is numbers vs words though. System A Skill levels go from Beginner, Adept, Expert, Master, Genius. System C Skill levels go from 1-5 The only difference here is that some people have an aversion to numbers and turn away the minute they see them. Which is why I understand system A to be preferable and certainly wouldn't mind it. It's B I really can't stand because then instead of saying, "I have more speed so I dodge you shit." People start saying "I'm a Captain, I overpower your kidou, beat you at arm wrestling, dodge all your shit, crush you with my reiatsu and win every single game of Ludo. |

yeah, I would prefer someone's bag of tricks to be their strength, not where they are assigned. |

That does seem to favor trickster, jack of all trades or mage archetypes. What about someone wanting to like Kenpachi who's a raging beast? Or Komamura who is also fairly straightforward. Or the speedster. |

Please no real solid stats, those sorts of things are really beh. Rough guidelines and stuff yeah, but not "Character A has x therefore Character B can suck it" |

My thoughts exactly, Akira. Masteries were about as far as I was willing to take it, for the most part. The idea of what being more skilled of a swordsman and the other being more skilled in fisticuffs, they could still take advantage of their respective skills to overcome one another. But there won't be speed and strength stats

Well like Ty said, I think that system works. Hell, a good example would be Jona vs Dagold. Jona is a very good mover and hakuda combattant, and alright at zanjutsu, whereas Dagold has the edge on zanjutsu and would mop jona up in a swordfight. |

Right, but I also think Jona's level as T7 should also convey some advantage in that example, due to additional experience etc. Not enough to be a guaranteed victory of course. |
