Cruor, God of Blood

Mankind overtime had become sinful, corrupt and materialistic. The first of these sins to become apparent was Pride of one’s heritage and blood, and out of this sin numerous wars had come to pass. With blood being of utmost importance to mankind a second sin also came to light – Lust. So bad were mankind’s desires to have the “perfect blood” that many became overly lustful of the important families. This was seen as important due to the wars that had been fought at the time, since a decrease in population left mankind worried. As well as a desire to have the perfect bloodline, the constant wars formed another form of Lust, in that people felt that they had reason to rejoice in being alive still, and worried that the next day may be their last. Thus Lust in the form of fornication was born. Out of these sins the first of the Gods was created – Cruor, the God of Blood.
Cadaver, the God of Embodiment.

Now, as mentioned before Pride was the first of the sins to manifest itself upon mankind. It did not just hold one form, but two. As life began to get better, the wars very slowly dwindling, so did prosperity. Men and women alike began to take Pride in their appearance, viewing it as an indication of their wealth and again their heritage. Those who were viewed as poor often lacked Pride, and out of this manifested Envy. The poor grew envious of the rich. They wanted what the rich had; they wanted their appearance, their pride, and their goods. While the poor got poorer, especially during the war in which the poor were sent more so to fight than the rich were, the rich grew richer. They even found every way they could to take even more from the poor, and thus Greed was borne. Whilst the poor were envious, with good reason, the rich grew greedy. And thus the second God was created – Cadaver, the God of Embodiment.
Belua, The God of Sacrifice.

With materialistic greed came hunger, and with hunger and wealth combined came over consumption. Whilst the poor dwindled the rich became bulbous. They ate to the point of Gluttony; all the while wars were still raging. The rich were willing to send off anyone to fight for them, uncaring of the fact they were sacrificing a life that was not their own. This sacrifice was the final part that was required in the making of the third God – Belua, the God of Sacrifice.
Letum, The Goddess of Death

Now, as mentioned wars were still raging throughout the lands, mankind unable to make and keep peace between one another. Men were dying left, right and centre, including the rich. There just weren’t enough men to fuel the fights, and things began to look bad. If the wars continued there would be no mankind remaining. Destruction was all around, hatred alongside it. What was more, death surrounded everyone. Every family had lost a loved one, if not more. Wrath had been formed. Through this the first Goddess was created – Letum, the Goddess of Death.
Various, The Goddess of Change

The four Gods manifested themselves to the Heads of each of the major families, warning them against their ways, against their sins, telling them of what would happen should they continue. The Gods tried to inform them in several ways, but none of the families were willing to listen. Out of all of the major families, only one individual stepped forwards, the only one out of them all who had not sinned, he succumbed to no lust, or pride, he was not gluttonous nor was he wrathful, he did not want to see helpless individuals sacrificed. His name was Unum, but he was not enough to make a difference. The Gods deemed mankind as unwilling to change or grow as individuals, unwilling to put aside their feuds, and thus the final sin of Sloth was formed, and with it came the final Goddess – Varius, the Goddess of Change.
Unum, The first Vampire

The Gods then turned on mankind for their sinful and corrupt ways. They deemed all as being sinful, from the lowest of peasants to the highest of kings. No one was deemed pure of heart. No one, that is, save Unum. They took the pure of heart and embodied themselves within him. They damned him for the actions of the sinners. Letum drained Unum of his purity and in doing so, killed him. Cruor then instilled the need for blood in order for Unum to survive. Belua manifested inside Unum an inner beast, which caused his desire and drive for blood. Only then did Cadaver bring Unum back into a new, immortal vessel. Cruor offered Belua the blood that had been drained from Unum, and Belua fed it to him. Varius then awakened him to his new state, unlocking the darkness within him to override his previously pure nature. Thus the first Vampire was created.

In an act of revenge against both the Gods and mankind Unum lashed out at those who had caused his damnation, man, and cursed the worst of them to live as he now did; in order to spite the Gods by destroying the race they had worked so hard to keep pure. The Gods realized what he had done and made Unum a God, to keep him from meddling further, yet this did not stop Unum’s kindred from passing on the curse.
