((Why, hello there! I see that you've stumbled upon the backstory of Sabrina Flynn, an acrobat from the past with a love of flying. This will explain why she is the way she is today. There are several things you should know first, though…. -The story will be told mostly in third person point of view, but it will also told in letters between Sabrina and other characters from her past and journal entries written by Sabrina. -Sabrina was born in Ancient Rome, so she's fluent in Latin. When the characters are speaking in the now-dead language, the words will be in bold. -The journal entries and letters will all be italicized. -Storywise, the journal entries might be written in Latin, but to make your job as the reader (and mine as the writer!) easier, they will be written in English. -Depending on where she is, Sabrina will go by a different name, so throughout the backstory, I will use several different names when referring to her. When the name used for her is switched, I'm going to attempt to make that as clear as possible. At a first glance, she just seems rude, but this will truly explain why she does the things she does. Because it goes so in depth with her character and there's so many things to cover, it might be a bit long, but hopefully it makes understanding her easier, and you enjoy reading it! It might be a bit dark in places, so the tenderhearted should beware! Alright, I think that's everything. If you're still here (I didn't bore you to death, did I?) then please enjoy learning about the past of Sabrina Flynn!) Edited by thetotalsimsgeek, Aug 22 2014, 11:37 PM.

The Next Day, Early In the Morning... Rena crept into the kitchen so start the fires for the days work and was shocked to find a familiar reddish-brown haired young man sitting at the table, working on something. "Bennet?" She questioned. He turned to face her she gasped. His lip was cut and swollen, there was bruises and cuts all over him, and dried blood in his hair. "What happened?" Rena asked worriedly, stepping towards him. Bennet swiftly slid whatever he was working on behind his back. "The hero fought the dragon," he responded sheepishly. Rena hurried over and got a wet wash cloth. She gently dabbed the blood off his face as she asked, "You went and spoke to Master Marcus for me?" Bennet nodded as he held out his left arm and hand for her to wrap a bandage around a nasty cut. He ran his right hand through his hair in an effort to get some of the dried blood out of it. "And he kicked my a**," he sighed. "But you went and stood up to him for me?" She repeated, awed. Benner shrugged. "Well, yeah." "But why?" "Why not?" Because I'm worthless, Rena silently sighed, but out loud she said, "Because he's nobility!" "He's an a**hole!" Bennet insisted. "I'm sorry he hurt you," she sighed. He grinned. "Will you kiss my injury all better?" He chuckled, pointing to his cut lip. Rena rolled her eyes, but gently kissed him and then blushed. Bennet was grinning from ear to ear as she turned to the fireplace and began to start the fire. |

A Year And A Half Later... Bennet Markwell studied the book he had written and illustrated for Rena. He traced the words "Once Upon A Time..." on the cover with the pointer finger of his right hand and smiled slightly. The story was about a boy named Bennet who wanted to be a hero and a girl named Rena who wanted to be a princess. Bennet rescued her from an evil dragon named Marcus and he became her hero and she became his princess. He studied the ring in the palm of his left hand. It was silver with diamonds and sapphires decorating it. It had been his mother's ring. "Is this a good idea?" He wondered aloud. On one hand, Rena could freak out and backtrack, destroying all the progress she'd made with her issues, but, on the other hand, she could realize Bennet really was in love with her, and she could say yes. Using some ribbon he may have stolen from the duke's eldest daughter, he tied the ring to the last page of the book, looping the fine red ribbon through a small hole he had cut. Bennet closed the book and sighed happily. He slid it into a white, cloth bag and threw it over his shoulder as he headed out the door. Rena had headed into town today to do some shopping for the cook, and then she was going to meet Bennet up at the stables, so he walked towards the stables, his mind going over everything that could go wrong. "You don't have to marry me today, but knowing that you will someday is all I need to know," he rehearsed. "No, that's not poetic enough. Marry me today or marry me in ten years- I don't care when because I'll love you forever... no, that's stupid..." He stopped his speech rehearsing when his ears picked up on faint crying. Bennet's eyes widened when be realized it sounded like Rena. He broke into a run and found her sitting outside the stables with her head in her hands and her back against the barn doors. Her platinum blonde hair streamed down her back, not in its usual braid. That was the second sign something was wrong (the first was that she was crying). Her dress was torn, her lip was cut, and her feet were bare, revealing burn scars all over them. "Rena?" He asked cautiously, sitting beside her. She sniffed, trying to pull herself together. "Yes?" "Sunshine, why are you crying?" He asked. Bennet shot a concerned glance at her feet before returnjng his attention to her face. She wiped tears from her eyes. "It doesn't matter," Rena insisted. "I can't help if you don't tell me, sunshine," he sighed. "It's nothing," she said in response. "You have to trust someone at some point," Bennet said softly. "Marcus." "Marcus what?" "He.... he... raped me..." "What?!" Bennet shot to his feet and began to pace. He was angry, so very angry. How dare someone do that to Rena. She was so amazing. How could someone hurt someone so wonderful in such a bad way, in such a possibly permanent way? "Bennet, it's okay," Rena told him. "It's not okay!" He exploded. "That a**hole! I'll kill him-" "Bennet. Stop." The reddish-brown haired young man turned to face her, his eyes wide with anger. He took a deep breath and pinched the bridge of his nose, trying to figure out what to do. Finally, he took her hand and pulled her to her feet. "C'mon, sunshine," he said quietly. "Would you like to fly?" She nodded eagerly, swiping at her tear-stained face in an effort to make it look like she'd never been crying. Her effort was pointless, but Bennet didn't care. He dropped the white cloth sack inside an empty stall, and then lead Rena over to the horse stalls. She sent a curious glance at the cloth sack but didn't question her friend. Rena followed him to where he stood in front of the stall of a black horse that was well groomed. She gently rubbed its nose while Bennet opened the stall door and lead the horse out. "Climb up," he said, holding out a hand to help her up. "But I'm in a dress," she replied. "You think I care? You can show a little leg and I won't tell, sunshine," Bennet laughed. She pulled her skirt up a bit so that she could climb knto the horse's back, revealing a bit of the lower half of her leg. She took Bennet's hand for balance and swung up onto the horse's back. Bennet climbed onto a white horse and lead the two horses out of the stable. "Kiss and kick to make her go," he told Rena. He squeezed the horse's midsection with his heels and made a kissing noise. The horse broke into a trot. She did the same as he did and added a kick, and her horse went a little bit faster. She stuck her tongue out at him and grinned. Bennet laughed and called, "If you make him run, it's like flying!" Then he kicked his horse and slapped the horse's behind. He took of running, and Bennet balanced by holding onto the white horse's mane. Rena grinned and then followed his example. Her horse took off running, and she laughed delightedly. It was like flying. The air rushed past her face, blowing her hair out of her braid and making it stream out behind her. Her blonde curls caught the fading sunlight and were shining brilliantly, Bennet noticed, and then scolded himself for noticing. He wouldn't give her the ring or the book today. He could see the fear she felt in her eyes, and he knew he needed to be someone she could depend on, not someone that was throwing hard decisions at her. Rena pulled up her horse beside him. She was smiling. He could tell she'd loved it. "Hey, Bennet," she said cautiously. "I had an idea..." "What?" He questioned. "I can't stay here," she admitted. "I need to leave." "Where were you thinking of going, sunshine?" "Remember when we went to the circus?" "Yeah..." "I heard they could use a few more acrobats." She paused and then asked hopefully, "Will you come with me?" He thought for a moment, and then Bennet nodded. "Of course, sunshine. I'd follow you anywhere." |
