Hey there! This is the story of the wonderful Ben McGill. Although he may seem snarky and a little bit flirty to the naked eye, there's much more to him than that. His story is quite dark, so if you're not a fan of the dark stuff I advise you go somewhere else. Still here? Awesome. The story is set in Simbridge, which is basically a medley of a few Scottish cities I've lived in and been to over the years. His younger cousin Uma might appear a lot in this, but it's the same for him in her story. The two have always been quite close, but I'm not revealing too much yet. That's for you to find out! As the story progresses, a few slang words might slip in. If you don't understand them, PM me and I'll add them to the glossary in this post. Can't have you stumbling over my rubbish slang words, can I? Now that we've got that all cleared up, enjoy! |

Ben - Aged 10 Mum's cooking has always been better than the other ladies' cooking. Personally, I think it's the meat she uses. It's so chewy and tender... not to mention how well it locks in the flavour. She never tells us where she gets it though, which is a shame. Whenever I have friends over for dinner they always drown her in compliments but she always looks worried. Like she's hiding something... but she's always told me it doesn't do well to dwell on the past. Focusing on the present is what got us here today. A big, happy family in a nice house on the edge of the estate. Come to think of it, Mum and Dad never did tell us what they worked as. I guess it was just some dull office job that we'd show no interest in. I frown as my younger siblings burst into my bedroom. "Ben, Ben!" grins Jordan. "Come and see my truck!" "Yeah, come and see his truck!" giggles Steven. "Not now." I huff. "I'm trying to watch TV." "Peter!" howls Jordan. "Ben doesn't want to see my truck!" "See his truck, Ben." grumbles Peter. "No, I don't want to." I say simply. "Fuck off then." huffs Jordan. "Come on, Steve. Let's go and make Rachel test drive the truck." "No!" I whine, clamouring to my feet. "She's only three. Don't make her do that!" "You can't stop us." laughs Steven. "Oh yes I can!" I counter, thundering down the stairs. "Mum, Dad! Steve and Jo are making Rachel te-" I stop myself immediately. I can hear something. Curiosity gets the better of me as I sneak over to the kitchen door. I take a deep breath and swing the door open. "What on earth?" I gasp. |
