((Callie’s story goes back so far as to show that her family wasn’t always the way they were. She actually was born into a nice, normal family that changed somewhere along the lines. You can see the change in Ozzie through this. It’s not huge, but you can see where he began to change.)) Callie Coleman Nox Born Callie Elizabeth Coleman to parents Ozzie Fredrick Coleman and Ophelia Jackson Coleman. It wasn’t a dark and stormy night. There wasn’t even a cloud in the sky the day she was born. Surrounded in a very normal hospital by two loving parents and her older brother Gavin Cage Coleman, they were the picture of a perfect, happy family. Ozzie had met and fallen in love with Ophelia in college where he studied computer sciences. She too was enthralled into the same studies, and so it was a match made in heaven. The two became such an item that it already appeared they were married to everyone who knew them. Both were well liked and active within the college taking spots on several teams from debate to basketball. Never appearing to be the nerds they truly were, they began to redefine the very term itself. After college both were headhunted by major companies as their grades and test scores were off the charts. Having made the news, in fact, as being among the elite society of those actually scoring perfect scores on key parts of their final examinations, these two were easily sought after for their knowledge, skills, and drive to not only be the very best at what they did, but to also seek to explore and expand their chosen fields. It wasn’t long after being picked up that Ozzie knew he was ready for the next step. Picking out the perfect ring, the perfect setting, all that was left was the words and the answer. He proposed to her atop a run down, shabby building. Ophelia was shocked, but she happily said yes to the man down on one knee before. After the ring was on her finger, and he was in her arms, she quickly shifted gears wanting to know what the building was for. “My love I have designed my own computer with capabilities far better than any model on the line today. I was offered a large sum of money for the patent on it. I turned it down. Instead I bought this building. It’s were I’m going to open up shop and together we’re going to manufacture and produce my line of computers. This is it Ophelia. I’m taking a chance. I want you to take this chance with me? Will you?” She would smile, embrace him, and emphatically say, “Yes my love. I will.” The two began to clean up the run down building transforming it into what would become Coleman Computers Inc.. Ozzie and Ophelia worked tirelessly for hours on end until finally he was ready to bring his model to the patent office. Coleman Computers was soon on the map as he was approved without hesitation. Putting himself even further into debt, Ozzie hired a team of workers, bought newer equipment, and flooded his space with parts. He even had a sign made for the run down building. “My love I thought you were going to have the sign read Coleman Computer Inc..” “I was, but that was so many more letters. It would have cost a fortune. I’ll change it later if you wish.” She smiled. “No. I love it. After all, you did say this is where you were going to open up shop.” The sign read in big, bold, red letters : The Shop Within two years, Ozzie had made back his money several times over, and he and Ophelia were living a very good life. Ozzie still continued to work several hours as the rash of supernatural coming to light had sparked a new interest for him, and both of them were known for running away with their interests. He was working late one night in his office when Ophelia knocked on his door lightly. “My love, we need to talk.” “Sure.” “Ozzie, I need for you to listen to me.” “Sure. I’m listening.” He kept working about with his test tubes and boilers the entire time not once looking at her. “Ozzie I’m serious.” “Sure. I’m listening.” She sighed heavily knowing this was as much of his attention as she would get. “My love I’m pregnant.” “Sure.” Seeing him not stop, not even flinch, she turned to leave with the door still open. “Sure. You’re pregnant. I can handle that. I just need to….pregnant?!” He dropped his test tube smashing to the floor and chased after her. Catching up to her, he grabs her arms smiling down at her. “Pregnant? Really? A baby? My love, a baby? You and I are going to have a baby? You’ve a got a tiny baby growing inside your tummy,” he said touching her tummy gently. He leaned down to softly kiss her and his new child within. “Hello in there. I’m your daddy. I can’t wait to meet you. I already love you far more than I ever knew I could love any person. Be safe, and I will be here when you’re ready.” He looked up to her before slowly standing upright once more. “I love you my love. This is wonderful.” He lifted her from her feet spinning her around. Seven months later, Gavin Cage Coleman was born. He was the son Ozzie wanted. An heir to his name and fortune. Gavin grew up with the model childhood that any one person could hope for. Everything seemed right for the little family. Coleman computers climbed to the top of the line. Unbeatable and unstoppable, at the time no other computer could even begin to compete with them. Companies went out of business even trying, and the Coleman family was living the good life. Ozzie went back to his studies on supernaturals, and Ophelia took a seat next to him to assist. Working endless hours, the two finally reached a point where it was clear what they needed and had to do. Answering an ad he had seen, a nameless young man walked into The Shop for testing. He was filed away as Ozzie began to test this man’s abilities to move objects with his mind. Captivated by this, the loving team exhausted every means they could to study him. When he finally decided he had to leave, and that the testing had gone on long enough, Ozzie convinced him to do one more test. As he was walking away from The Shop, the loving man and wife watched and conversed. “We needed him longer. We were so close.” “I know my love,” he said rubbing her back. “But we can find him again.” “How? He will never come back.” “If need be, he won’t have a choice.” She looked up to puzzled. “What do you mean?” “I mean exactly what I said my love. I placed a tracking device inside his brain. We can find him if we need to, and I can send people after him if need be. I’ve spoken with one of my workers. He will handle the task if need be.” He looks over to her and smiles slightly. “Jonathan will be happy to take the extra work. His wife is expecting twin boys, and they need the money. They already have the names picked out,” he laughs. “Josh and Gracin” “Really,” she smiles. “Well tell me, my love, what do you think about the name Callie?” “Callie? That’s a girl’s name. She’s having twin boys.” “Yes, but I’m having a girl.” His expression softened as once more he lifted her from the ground spinning her around. “A girl! A baby girl! I have a daughter,” he shouted placing her down gently. Once more he leaned down to her tummy. “Hello in there my beautiful daughter. I cannot wait to meet you. I already love you with all that I have.” He kissed her belly before rising to kiss her. Again, seven months later, on a beautiful, clear, blue sky day, Callie Elizabeth Coleman was welcomed into the Coleman family. It made all the papers and magazines. Ozzie held her tightly, looking down into her bright green eyes. “I will always love you. I will keep you safe. Nothing will ever harm you. You are my precious angel, and I will move the earth, the stars, the moon, anything for you.” Her tiny fingers wrapped around his finger. She cried loudly, and he smiled. “I think someone is hungry mommy.” Suddenly a bottle flew from the nightstand against the wall. Diapers flew from the changing table. The blinds rose up and down over the window. The room door opened and closed. As Callie stopped crying, it all ceased. “Ozzie,” Ophelia whispered. “What was that?” He looked down at Callie looking up at him. “I don’t know my love, but believe me, I’m going to find out.” |
