Server Connection Issues

Hello everypony,

I have received several reports of server disconnect issues. Now, our host site has had a few minor problems this past week, but just in case there are still issues, I want you to post them here.
Firstly, I did run a diagnostic check, and everything checked out clean. Of course, that doesn't mean a whole lot. As someone who has dealt with networks for the better part of two decades, I know that the problem can disappear right when someone's checking, so I'll be watching closely. After the diagnostic check, I ran a server connectivity check, and everything came out clear. In fact, I was getting rather rapid feedback responses from the international servers.

I then ran a domain check, and while most of the tests passed fairly well, a few key areas were thrown caution flags, and so I will look into the problem on that end.
So I suspect that the issue may lie in the domain server. If you continually get issues coming to BK via the www.bronykingdom.com link, try our alternative internal link: http://w11.zetaboards.com/bronykingdom until I can give you the all clear.

So remember, if you're having connection problems, post them here, and I'll add them to the list of checks and tests I'm running.
Together, we'll get to the bottom of this. :)

Has everything cleared now? There was some instability as we switched ISP hosts. Hopefully that has been resolved.

I just keep getting Connection closed by remote server error. This gets annoying when I want to do/post something.

I'm getting this right now when trying to post this.

It's a guest side issue (it's on your end). Try this:

If you use Windows
Go to START > Run
In the command prompt that pops up, type "ipconfig /flushdns" (without the quotes).

In OSX Leopard
Go to Terminal
Type "dscacheutil -flushcache" (without the quotes)

In Ubuntu/Debian Linux
Go to Terminal
Type "sudo /etc/init.d/nscd restart" (without the quotes)

That should clear your DNS cache.
Let me know if this works.

Hey, it seems to work. Thanks, Dashie!

I figured that it could be the problem at my end, as other devices of mine work fine with this site. :)

I've had the problem before, myself. So I figured that had to be it. :D

I think this goes here...

Alright, so Im having a strange issue, that doesn't happen anywhere but this site. I often open multiple tabs, and when I do that here, it usually works fine. But then, if I try to do anything that would require the page to reload or load a new page (Like, if there's more than one page of new posts, and I have to go to the next page) it will refuse to do so, and simply say that the web page cannot be loaded (Or whatever you get when you try to access a page when you have no internet.)

Or, to be clear:

BK is on Tab 1. I open the RPETYE thread in a different tab, Tab 2.

I can do whatever I want on Tab 1, but if I try to post, or refresh, or go to another page on Tab 2, it won't let me.

The weird thing is, it seems to do this randomly. Sometimes it will do it, other times it won't.
