Section One: Spells
All spells are verbal and do not require "action markers". If you choose to use action markers with a spell it will NOT be deemed void.
Section Two: Creating Spells
If you create a spell that is not on our offical list (to be added), it will automaticly be deemed void.
Section Three: Hearing Spells
If a spell is cast upon someone they must be within earshot (i.e. they can see the text appear on their screen) otherwise the spell will be deemed void. For instance two people on opposite sides of the room would not be able to hear each other and therefore if a spell was cast it would not be acceptable.
No matter the distance, you will not be able to hear a spell if they cast it non-verbally. To cast a spell non-verbally, you must use two semicolons around the word, however the mistake of only putting one semicolon is valid. For example:
Petrificus Totalus! is valid (if the spell was cast verbally)
;; Petrificus Totalus ;; is valid (if cast non-verbally)
;; Petrificus Totalus; is valid (if cast non-verbally)
; Petrificus Totalus ; is valid (if cast non-verbally)
Section Four: Apparation
In order to successfully Apparate or disapparate, you must use five (5) lines at minimum. An example of roleplaying apparation is as follows:
-I turn on my heel now-
-I focus on my new spot-
-smoke forms around my body with ease-
-I raise into the air here-
-and I then apparate from this area with speed-
(only 7th years or above can apparate)
Section Five: Defensive Charms
Not all defensive magic is valid in -H-, there are some we find to be unfair for this roleplay and have decided as the leave them out of the roleplay. Most defensive magic you find in our archives, and refrences (such as the Harry Potter lexicon, Harry Potter Wikia, or even the more canon books and movies) will be valid to use, however the following are not:
Repello Inimigotum (Reasons being it was found too overpowered)
Protego Maxima (Same spell as Protego Totalum)
