OOC: Everyone signed up should join this thread It was an interesting mood that was going through the Town of Hiyle, Reports had been coming in of late that some of the town further east have had people abductions. It was just written up as wolves and exageration however now things were starting to hit a bit more close to home. over the past week or so people have been going missing, maybe it had been going on longer? The Authoraties have admitted it is hard to keep track of these thigns and the citizens are started to get concerned. The streets are alot quiter then usual, nearby there is tape surrounding a house, informing people to keep out, apparrantly the occupants have gone missing... ---- Sherlock walked through the streets, smoking his pipe and simply watching the people go by. This was quite the puzzle, in a morbid way he was quite excited, people are dissapearing, no evidence, no suspects, no motive! It was a blank canvas, his mind ran wild with ideas of conspiracies ranging from government to magical. He sat down on a bench nearby and started to scan through a list he pulled out of his pockets. On the list was a list of people that had gone missing, "Patterns, patterns everywhere, but not a drop to drink..." |

It was hard to believe this town was going to host a spring festival in just a week's time. Belruel thought as she patrolled the street. The mayor's efforts at putting guards on the streets have had little effect in helping assuage people's fears. Apparently, a number of the guards had begun disappearing as well. Although whether or not that was due to kidnappings or desertion wasn't quite known. It was perfectly understandable, Belruel thought, The guardsmen had wives, children, and family in town. If they felt they couldn't keep their own flesh and blood safe, then it was only natural for the family to take an extended vacation somewhere safe out of town. The only problem with that chain of thought however, was that it meant more people were leaving the city. Even if they weren't technically disappearing, the rest of the neighborhood was put in a considerably flighty or panicky mood. And the result was these empty streets, and not enough guards or knights stationed to patrol the city in pairs. Belruel was one such person chosen to patrol the haunted streets of this city alone in hopes that her presence would help keep people calm. While it may calm the citizens, it certainly wasn't calming for the knights. At least not for Belruel, who thought her commanding officer had finally cracked under the pressure and was now putting his troops and herself in unnecessary risk. Which was why she had veered off her prescribed route and was investigating the house of the most recent kidnapping. At least, this way she thought she'd help further the investigation and end this farce of an assignment. As luck would have it, she happened to see someone suspicious loitering outside the building. What kind of person would possibly loiter outside a crime site in a city where everyone was afraid to go outside? "Ahoy there!" The knight called out to Sherlock, "You with the pipe, what are you doing there?" Edited by Belruel, Mar 2 2012, 07:08 PM.

OOC: was hoping more people would join T_T Sherlock looked as the knight appproached him. "So then! A knight, not night time indeed but in the day! Pleasure to meet you Mr... someone? Ah as to what I am doing, that is a very good question, one that I will no doubt answer at some point in this sentence!" Sherlock said before closing the page on the files he was looking at. "Clearly there could be nothing here that could interest no? Unless of course you care about the dissaperences, I think if you were to look and I hope you don't, you might find that this is a list of all those who have dissapeared, a list I procured from you sergeant, not the most observent of fellows is he! You are under Sergeant Worst no? Oh maybe that female sergeant! One of those two I guarantee. Oh I forgot, what did you want me to do again?" Sherlock said, being quite loud and bombastic in how he spoke. |

OOC: Sorry for the late post "A house that is off limits to people? Interesting, better go check it out!" Cheng Wei had just sneaked out of home to seek for an adventure but he had just been distracted by a seemingly interesting house. Unfortunately, he saw a strange person chatting with a knight near that particular area. "Guess I will try to bypass them, I would be questioned heavily if I asked for permission for an entrance." He thought, running into the house at top speed. "I am crazy, for me to oppose a knight like that, hope she wouldn't be a violent one" He said to himself sarcastically Edited by NoobCW, Mar 7 2012, 03:12 AM.

ooc Although Belruel's face could not be seen behind the full helm, her expression ran the full gamut of emotions while listening to her suspect prattle on. Strangely, he didn't run away at the sight of her, nor did he behave in a way that suggested he felt guilty. Of course, a more seasoned guardsman would recognize that itself may be a danger signal. However, for the newly knighted Belruel, the detective's demeanor was completely unbalancing. Belruel's suspicion changed in to confusion as Sherlock seemed on the verge to introduce himself but suddenly changed topic to a list he got from Sergent Rorst. Almost immediately however, she found herself tickled by the man's irreverent assessment of the sergeant's abilities and a quip about the man's name. And then came the alarm. Did this man just profess to stealing a list of evidence from her sergeant? Or did her sergeant just happen to have a very eccentric friend? Belruel's world spun as she tried to figure out what this man in front of her had just said. "Did you just say you stole that list from the Sergeant?" Belruel finally managed, her voice having the coarse and strangled quality of someone who just saw a blur jump over the police line and run in to the house. The poor knight found herself caught between two suspicious persons, one a possible thief of confidential files, and the second a fool who crossed a police line in front of a knight without hiding. If she could, Belruel would have split herself in two and went after both. But from the rattling of the armor and the silent scream of anguish she breathed out, it was very possible to imagine that she had somehow cut her body right down the middle and both halves were each trying to grab their respective lawbreakers. Sherlock Shrugged with indifference. "Can one really own a list? Really all it is, at its most fundamental level is simply a coalation of names. Now I could get these names anywhere, the only realy distinctive thing about these names is that thye are all catagorised by a simple binary characteristic. Have they been abducted, yes/no. Of course if you are to say getting a list of people who have been abducted is stealing, then yes I might have stole it, but this is my copy, Rorst just left it in sight, I wrote it down after the fact... Isn't it funny how people think just because its not in focus its n ot there. Take you for example, what you ate recently isn't in focus, but it is all there, if I felt so inclined I could probably work it all out... but enough of you, you bore me. Sherlock said as he then turns his attention away from the night and the other person that approached them at a great velocity then would indicate a conversation. "Ah... who may you be..." Sherlock muttered inder his breath, his world slows down as he intakes every little bit of information, the style of the boys run, the pant of his breath, cracks in the ground. As he runs past Sherlock has already run through 50 or more scenarios in his head and then attempts to trip the boy as he goes past. *Dexterity buff* |

"Ouch!" Cheng Wei had tripped onto the man's legs, falling down to the ground. "Oh, this is ridiculous... Me to be caught before getting inside..." He glanced angrilly towards the man, shouting in rage as he stood up,"Hey, whats that for?! Umm... umm... I am just trying to run back home but its so scary in the middle of the night!" He tried to lie towards the man and hide his intentions of going inside (Even if he did a bad job by some hesitation).

Sherlock's whirlwind explanation and self-indulgent display of intellect had left the knight dazzled, tongue-tied, and that complex feeling of being insulted, shamed, and reduced to a rank below a rambling sociopath the local guardsman had colloquially termed, "sherlocked". The man hadn't explicitly broken any law, but Belruel felt that he should have. Somehow, Sherlock had worked around the system in a way that should not have been possible, and knowing he had done this had left her nerves slightly frayed. And then she remembered the word of caution Rorst had given her before she left. He had told her to be careful of a vigilante detective called Sherlock... "You're that private eye I've been warned about, Sherlock, aren't you?" She was about to ask when Sherlock stepped to the side and tripped a man running towards the house. There was a moment's pause as she listened to the man's obviously fake excuse before she reached for the man's hands to place behind his back. "Is that your house over there?" the knight asked, pointing towards the abandoned house currently under investigation by the guard. Then as an aside to Sherlock, in a rushed tone and the hint of an embarrassed flush, "Thank you for the help. I'm sorry for my questioning earlier, but I'm glad you're trying to help. Please call me Belruel Du'Lac." Edited by Belruel, Mar 15 2012, 04:47 PM.

Sherlock was quite bored with the knight at this point in time, so while he heard everything the knight said he didn't appear to be listening. Instead his focus was on the boy, the one he had jsut tripped up. "Don't be daft, of course he doesn't live there, Just look at him." Sherlock mumbled as he looked at the boy. "So then, you wished to enter that house, that much was obvious, although of course I couldn't have you doing that, I had a question to ask... What was that question... I am sure it will come to me anyway. Oh Knight, you should not apologise for interregating someone, don't take anything at face value. However feel free to apologise for you poor observatory technique." Sherlock said primarily to the new boy but then added that last comment to the knight without turning to face the armoured figure. "In other news, what is your name run into a police scene boy? I could keep calling you that but it is rather long winded don;t you think? Apprantly I am long winded enough without dessignating people 8 syllable names based on immediatly observable characteristics." |

"This guy is smart..." Cheng Wei thought as that man figured out that he did not live at that house and intended to trepass it. "Screw it! My movement's restrained by that stupid knight!" Cheng Wei turned to look at the knight, whom he heard her name as Bulruel, and stuck his tongue out towards her in frustration. That man asked for Cheng Wei's name. "I am Cheng Wei, so can you let me go now please?" Cheng Wei responded in a very cheeky manner. |
