Time - sometime after noon

Location - Somewhere deep in the forest.

Posted Image

After walking for what had seemed like hours with the two strange men and battling the thoughts of betrayal swirling through my mind we finally arrive to a clearing with makeshift tents, firespits & wooden pens housing supplies and other stuff. I am utterly shocked by how organized everything is.

"How in the name of Sithis did you get all this? We've only been on the island for a month...." I ask the tall white man while the short one walks in front of us. The fire crackles as suddenly a bunch of people emerge from the tents. Some with spears and other makeshift tools and others that look like crack addicts. I somehow deep down could swear I saw everyone here at camp before....

"It's Drake.... the weirdo."

"It's the guy who killed that elk!" One laughed amazed

"It's the Reaper of The Forest !" One mumbled in a sarcastic tone.

"Lol he's that antisocial freak from CF?" Another snickered.

I pick up the small utterance of words amongst the chatter as the people gather around me in a circle. I become a little uneasy. This camp was bigger than I thought for the little amount of people here... at least 10-12 people hid out here counting Devin and Tyler. I was positive all were from camp. Some dressed in ragged clothes and others in makeshift militia gear. What the hell was this? Why did they build a big camp? The short guy from earlier finally takes off his mask and reveals his face before speaking. He had green eyes, no facial hair, thick and short brown hair and a mild featured face. He barely looked older than me.

"My name is Devin, and the white guy you saw me with is my little brother Tyler. Welcome to our hideout Drake." Devin laughs taking his shirt off and showing his bare chest. I glanced at his chest before quickly turning away creeped out.

"The people you got here.... I don't like them..... they're pissing me off with the snide remarks..." I growl looking at everyone.

"You've got quite a bit of explaining to do Devin." I speak still looking away from him and staring at the people surrounding us. Tyler takes off his mask revealing his face, soft featured, short curly black hair, brown eyes, and a small bit of chin hair. He yawns before speaking.

"Ask away Drake, we know we can trust you won't rat us out." He finally speaks in a calm tone. I am dumbfounded by that statement.

"And how the hell do you know I won't rat you out?" I ask sharply throwing my hood off my head. Devin laughs.

"Because we have things you want, if we didn't.... from the stories about you that we heard. You would have tried fighting us and dragging us back to camp. Am I wrong?" He asks thinking he's got me on the ropes. I laugh shaking my head before folding my arms.

"Yea, you're dead wrong. Truth of the matter is I may have only agreed to join you guys so that you would lead me to your hideout where I could kill both you and your brother and bust this entire gig. Still think you've got me figured out?" I finished with a highly arrogant tone. A long silence ensued followed by more chattering before Devin speaks again.

"Ah, that was a pretty clever reply, but I'm more shrewd than you give me credit Demon of the forest. We both know your real reason for coming here is to check out our animal taming operations. The look you shot us after I told you it earlier gave it all away. Now can we quit the talk trying to size each others intelligence up?" Devin laughs giving me a fake smile. The wind whistles through the trees.

"Why does everyone call me the Reaper? Or a demon? I'm no different from you. Sounds like a cheesy ass name if you ask me. I don't like it." I speak coldly. Why did people title me as a bad omen?

"You slaughtering that Irish Elk with nothing but a tomahawk and knife says otherwise. That couple with the speed and strength you showed coupled with how you managed to kill a bald eagle ambushing you in a flawless move begs to differ. You & that, what do you calk him? Zachary? Could prove to help us." Devin says popping his neck. My eyes widen.

"Zachary? I'm guessing you have been spying on my friends ever since the elk incident." I reply back uneasy.

"Ah yes, something about this island is influencing you two, and we could use it." Tyler butts in.

"That explains why you made such a ruckus with the body near where I sleep.... you were basically baiting me." I reply still looking away.

"Ahhh you're not as dumb as you look Drake. Excellent." Devin laughs aloud. I shoot him a menacingly cold stare.

"Insult me like that again and I will paint this entire camp in your blood." I snap at him. He seems stunned by my reply.

"Well then...... anyways any questions before we begin?" Tyler asks kneeling down to tie his shoes.

"When did all this start?" I start barraging him with questions.

"As soon as we landed." He replies keeping up with my game.

"What's your game?"

"We want to influence the camp, someone has got to be in charge."

"And you achieve that through murder and fear?"

"Hehe even you know it's more efficient than what Walter is doing."

"How long have you been watching us?"

"Since Zachary killed those coyote with his teeth."

"How did your business go so long unnoticed?"

"We worked away from your friends or anyone you knew."

"What do you want with Red and Walter?"

"Now now.... that would be telling."

"You're a bunch of criminals."

"Than why are you still here?"

I finally stop with my questions. These guys were doing more than I thought. I guess that's human nature, sooner or later someone tries to rule. I walk over to Devin.

"Show me these animals you've been taming...." I look him in the eyes. I still had many unanswered questions but figured it'd be best to follow up on them later on. Right now something was killing me. Something I was dying to find out about.

"Right this way." He smiles pointing to a small clearing over a fallen tree. We start walking. Me, Devin, and Tyler.

5 minutes later.....

"Wow..." I mutter looking at the sparse pens holding in the animals, there were 3 wolves, 2 larger than normal ones and an average sized one, 3 bald eagle penned up together, a bobcat, a stellar sea eagle, and last but not least a large black bear similar to the one VD killed. All of them however were dead silent as we walked by. Not a hint of aggressive intent. I squinted in shock before speaking.

"I'm no gonna bother asking how you obtained these creatures.... but why are they not going nuts?"

Devin spins around and stops in front of the wolf pen. Inside were the 3 wolves, all jet black in fur and male.

"We put anxiety reducing plants in their feed. Makes them less tempermental. This islands got a lot of Valerian and Calhume flower." He finished.

"Natural drugs huh? Nice." I laugh staring at one wolf. It was the smaller one of the 3. He looked like he was trying to figure out what to do. Devin opens the pen. I jump back expecting them to leap out at me but am surprised when they just sit there.

"Go ahead pick one as your down payment." He laughs pointing at them. I was utterly amazed at that.

"A fucking wolf? Huh sure then, give me that one." I laugh eagerly pointing at the wolf that I stared at earlier. It raised its ears as if it knew I was talking to it. It almost felt as if I had some sort of connection with him.

"The smaller one? He only weighs 130lbs, the other two way at least 150lbs." Devin says shocked at my choice. I shrug as I snap my fingers at the black wolf who suddenly gets up and walks towards me. I extend my hand out and watch him lick it.

"Huh..... seems like he thinks you're the leader..... he needs training in attacking on command still, hell we haven't had any luck training any of the wolves... only keeping them calm... but he should be ready to go as far as being loyal to you since he moved when you pointed at him." Tyler speaks closing back the pen as we stand outside. I glare into the wolfs yellow eyes for a minute. Its as if I was one with him.

"He got a name?" I ask scratching his head. Devin shrugs

"Give him one."

I look at him then back at the wolf. I found a name for it.

"I'm calling you Axel, hows that?" I ask smiling at the canine. Axel tilts his head before giving what seems like a smile with his dagger like teeth.

"I guess he likes it. Anyways Drake you should get back to camp, I'm sure you can lie about where you've been and how you got Axel. We'll meet you again by your tree in 2 days with your first task. Do as we say and Axel won't be your only perk from us." Tyler says. I shrug in agreement.

"Might as well, VD and Apex pets ain't got shit on Axel." I laugh as I say goodbye to them and walk back to camp with Axel.

"This is the beginning of a wonderful partnership." I mumble as me and my wolf vanish from the secluded camp into the forest again.

To be continued.......

BI why would the wolf join such a shitty pack? 1 other male? How is he ever going to have even a chance at mating when he only has another male around?
Ypu failed to address the incamp coyotes, you failed to address the greater independance, are you going to watch it 24/7? No, he can just wonder into camp if he is hungry, he could look for a pack that doesnt suck, he could attack people assuming they are infringing on his territory, he could be seen as a problem wolf and killed, you simply are not going to manage having it near camp.

My point is that if the wolf isnt domesticated which you cant do, you cant keep it near camp.

If that were true, why did they suddenly knock him to the bottom of the ranks when he left and returned? Simple, he wasn't there to assert his dominance, not because of the "fatherly love" shit you're putting on the wolves. Wolves are not humans, they will always try to usurp the leader unless you always assert dominance.

HE was restricted to raising puppies for several reasons.

1. He could not just go out into the forest and beat the shit out of a dispersal male or alpha for dominance, he would surely get killed. In SIS Drake is more than capable of killing Axel in a second. Hence, he will ALWAYS be Axels alpha

2. He doesn't have the connection i do to wolves in the story. In the story I'm a werewolf shifter, and though I cannot transform as of current, I still share more of a connection to the wolf than the guy in the doc, hence I emphasized it in the story.

3. SIS Drake is capable of repeatedly repelling and submissioning Axel each time the latter tries to usurp him. Thus even if I did leave him like the guy in the doc, when I return, if he suddenly thinks he's the alpha. I will beat him back into knowing i'm the leader of the pack, not him.

Anymore you need cleared up? As I said, your ignorance on wolves is astounding.

Pre existing pack is an undefined term. In the REAL wild dispersal males will sometimes join up with any number of wolves be it a female or anything else. And your ignorance is about as astounding as apex's. ONLY THE ALPHA MALE OF A PACK HAS THE RIGHT TO MATE! I will be that alpha male therefore until Axel usurps me, which will never happen, he doesn't have the right to mate. It's simple wolf ranking.

Nope, wolves are independent to an extant when in a pack. If the Alpha male doesn't allow it, the subordinates won't enact it. Unless they are trying to dethrone him.

Read above. Your ignorance on wolves is astonishing. Axel doesn't have a territory, I the ALPHA MALE has a territory, therefore Axel is basically in my territory, he has no right to one until he usurps me.

1: When with there are no females to usurp from you, therefore he has no chance of ever mating as long as he is in your pack, Why would he join such a dead end shitty pack?
2: when the Alpha isnt present even decently behaved dogs will do whatever they want so i repeat how do you plan adressing its independance?
3: dumbass your a pack you share the territory, his and your territory is the same thing.

Your ignorance is astonishing. Not every male wolf mates in his lifetime infact some even grow old and die without ever mating, only a rare few that become alphas are eligible to mate as females won't choose anyone that's not the alpha, hence why most packs consist of a father and mother and their pups. Once again, I strongly suggest you stop making yourself look stupid, or are you just trying to troll again? Wolves usurp for leadership, not for females. I suggest you stick to your varanids.

Axel is always gonna be near me. Tell me where the fuck am I gonna disappear to on an island without him?

*You're the dumbass not me. I am the owner of the territory, he just lives on it. If you were intellignet enough you would have understood that. Here's an analogy, you can rent an apartment on my land, but if you stop paying rent or something similar, I can evict you out. Same applies to Axel and me. He doesn't own any territory, he is simply living on it because I allow him to.

wow
point 1
wolves will often usurp their father, thats the only reason they joined him in the first place
Point 2
if i somehow kick the alpha wolf to death the rest of the pack wont magically join me, I am not a wolf, not even close to one. By that defenition youd have packs of wolves following grizzly bears aroundwhen it kills their leader

It funny how you proclaim to fully understandwolves but cannot comprehend this is not a domestic dog a wolf doesnt care if you share more traits with them than an average human, you are still a human and will never replace the character of a real wolf.
Wolves arent going to be your new friend if you try to raise it from the wild, this isnt a disney movie the fact stands a human could not make a pet out of a fully grown wild wolf shifter or no shifter

1: no your stupidity is astonishing, he has no oppurtunity to ever mate, as long as you ate in a pack that has females you have a chance of becoming alpha and mating, why do you think male wolves leave there home pack? Because they plan on becoming an alpha and mating, so its best to leave and avoid inbreeding, why would he join a pack where he has no chance of ever mating because there are no females?
2:So ypur going to watch him like a hawk, got it all i asked was for you answer a simple question.
3: oh okay so only alpha males defend territory? Only alpha males consider it there home? Herp derp derp derp?
No the whole pack defends the territory, pull your head out of your ass

Please just stop, this here just knows you no nothing on wolves.
Quote:

A wolf can stay with the pack into which it was born and bide its time until it works its way up the dominance hierarchy or it can disperse. A dispersing wolf leaves the pack to find a mate and a vacant area in which to start its own pack. Both strategies involve risk. A wolf that bides its time may be out-competed by another wolf and never achieve dominance. Dispersers must hunt on their own until they form or join a new pack, and they may be killed when they invade the territory of other wolves.

Please cut the bullshit. Those wolves couldn't disperse therefore they had to try to usurp him. They didn't have a choice.

Wrong yet again
Quote:

In a Yellowstone wolf study, which is a study of a population that is not hunted or trapped, the death of one or both members of the alpha pair usually resulted in another adult wolf coming in to replace the one that died. Sometimes it led to dissolution of the pack. Packs sometimes adopt unrelated dispersing wolves that could also become alpha members of the pack. When packs dissolved after the death of an alpha animal, new packs formed in those areas

I'm adopting Axel into my pack. Because I'm the alpha and also because I'm a werewolf shifter.

You know what's funny? How you claim that you know about wolves "coz they're my fav animal once" yet the post you just made just goes to show you absolutely know zero about them. You go from asking how I can keep axel to now bitching about something else because I just exposed how little you know on wolves. Nice try tho.
