Time - A bit before noon the next day Location - Drakes' Tree ![]() I wake up as the bright sun shimmers its rays through the cirrus clouds before barraging through the green leaves and thick branches of my tree hitting the greyish black hooded cloak wrapped around me as I snoozed in a small crevice near the top of my tree. I open my eyes groggily before pulling my hood off of my bandaged forehead and face. A loud yawn escapes my jaws as I smack my lips before looking down out the tree to its base. "Hey Axel, you there buddy?" I ask with a raspy voice before reaching into my bag and throwing down a large sliver of meat wrapped in deer skin. There was no reply. I wake up a little more uneasy. "Axel? Axel where are you?" I say with a bit more haste in my voice. The leaves sway as the branches rock through a gentle breeze. I leave my axe and bag in the tree as I descend down the tree before hitting the ground in a roll. I look around, no sign of Axel. "Axel! Get here now!" I yell in annoyance before I suddenly hear the sound of Axel growling and the hiss of what seemed to be a cat. "Axel, is that you?" I ask whistling for the figure when all of a sudden a cougar leaps out of the bushes and springs towards Axel. The black wolf retaliates by lunging at the cat with jaws of black steel and teeth like rail road spikes. I can do nothing but watch in shock as Axel blindly charges at a tom cougar, he by sure was not a basic grey wolf. Axel barks loudly as he snaps his vice grip jaws at the bronze colored cat, the cougar leaps back dodging his bite but is caught off guard when Axel still charges into the body of the cat. They slam into each other and roll in the dust and leaves for a bit as Axel bit and snapped viciously at the puma. "Axel!" I yell as I got read to charge in to save him from the cat with my knife. I started to descend the tree when I stopped again in shock. Axel tanked a few swipes from the cats razor sharp claws, the blades hooking into his loose skin unable to pierce its elasticity. The black jawed wolf then smashed his vice grip jaws onto the right paw of the cougar when it swiped again, a loud crack can be heard a his overwhelming bite crushed the small bones in the cougars wrist. All the puma could do was let out a scream of pain before Axel swung his head from the beasts wrist and seized the screaming cat by the throat crushing its tracheae before viciously shaking and biting the injured male cfilid more in his jaws. Soon enough the body stopped resisting as the wolf dropped the cats mangled corpse and proceeded to lick the blood off his midnight muzzle. I finally drop out the tree utterly astonished, Axel right before my eyes took down a cougar.... I glanced at his body, he suffered a few shallow cuts from tanking the hits and what seemed to be a grazed bite mark on his neck, but he was pretty much fine. "My hunch was right...... you are not a normal grey wolf.... what in the hell type of animal are you?" I think to myself as I watch him cover up his kill. I shrug before walking back to my tree to get my things, as long as he wasn't trying to kill me I didn't care. Axel emerges from the bushes and starts following me again. Something about Axel kept ringing in my mind.... "Come on Axel we're going to meet Iris, it's almost noon." I speak to the wolf as I descend the tree geared up with my Tomahawk and Knife. I whistle for the wolf and we start walking back towards the camp grounds. As we walked the memories of the conversation I had with Iris kept flashing into my mind. "I want to study you..." "You haven't done anything to scare me really...." "If you prove your reputation to me.... I'll be your new friend..." I walk through the ground of dirt and leaves barefoot with Axel hot on my heels. I didn't understand anything Iris said, it's as if she was speaking riddles. Study me? Nothing I did scared her or seemed unnatural? So why did she want to observe me firsthand? Question circle around my brain before I get agitated. "Fuck! I give up trying to figure this shit out." I mutter kicking away a stick. The wind blows a little harder, I grab my cloak shut with my hand using it as a windbreaker. The walk back to camp was roughly a mile long, a good deal away from the camp, but worth every step. Out here it was just me and Axel, I didn't have to worry about any camp drama or crime, no worries about getting into unwanted fights. It was my kind of style to stay isolated from that bullshit.... A mile walk later........ Me and Axel emerge from the brush at around Noon by the CF campsite. Zero is the first to greet me. He looked cleaner than normal, probably bathed in the ocean or boiled some water and washed with that, ah well. "Drake, word is you're going on a hunting trip with some girl right?" Zero says shifting the katana on his back before folding his arms. I hesitate before speaking. "Yea that's right, why you wanna tag along or something?" I offer him an open invitation, it would help ease the awkwardness of the whole thing. Zero immediately nods his head before tapping me on the shoulder. He as well seemed not to be scared of Axel standing right by my leg. The wolfs head was at my thigh. "Sure thing, I been dying to use this sword again ever since the wolves, I been practicing with it ever since we got back. So when you leaving?" Zero asks dusting off his pants and the black hoodie he was wearing today. "We're leaving in a little bit. I'm gonna go get Iris, you go tell Paul and Walter to be ready to prepare the kill for the camp when we get back, and goddammit tell these people to clean this damn camp up. I'm surprised nobody here has caught a viral infection yet." I say in disgust of the camp. People and kids who probably haven't bathed ever since we arrived here were prancing amongst the trash and waste among the camp. Blankets and the remains of already eaten carcasses from previous feasts littered the ground while the ravens descended and picked at the garbage heaps. Only camps that were clean were the CF camp and D&R Inc where only a few people stayed, the main camp however was disgusting. "You know I've been trying to keep my tent clean, had to beat a guy up the other day for throwing his trash in my area. But anyways I'll round up your friends and see what we can do about cleaning this place up." Zero says with a scent of assurance in his voice. I was starting to enjoy his company, he was always one to be friends with everyone despite all the drama going on. In fact I saw a lot of myself in his attitude, carefree on most occasions yet not afraid to get serious when needed. "Very well, I'll go get Iris. Meet back here in about half and hour, can you tell time by the suns position?" I ask him feeling smart. "Nope I got a digital watch." He replies laughing as he walks away. I stand there feeling like an idiot. "Why did I ever learn that stupid skill from Paul?" I sigh before traversing deeper into the camp. The sounds of chattering revels with the sounds of birds cawing and coyotes yipping amongst the garbage. The smell was horrid. Thank god Iris lived along the edge of the main camp where it was a bit cleaner. My hearing picks up the sounds of all kinds of chatter. As I walk I take the time to pick up a few scraps of chat here and there. "Give it back it's my lamp!" Two girls argued passively over a lamp to my right. "it's mine!" A couple kids yell out to each other as they ran with something in their hands. However one particular conversation caught my interest. It was between a young man and woman to the northeast of me about 10 feet away. "Why hasn't anyone tried to escape this island?" The female mumbles to the man. The male shuffles his hair through his hands before speaking back in a ominous tone. "Best believe me we have been trying. But it's like every time we manage to build some sort of a raft something goes wrong. Last week Jarren built a 20 by 20 raft of wood and vines and drifted away with his girlfriend. He offered me to tag along but the raft didn't look safe enough so I declined. Couple days pass and his raft returns to the beach broken and destroyed with no sign of them anywhere." The man finishes blowing into the air. The womans eyes grew. "Pfft maybe they got killed by sharks or something?" She asks. The man shakes his head and shrugs. "i don't know, but it seems like the island doesn't want us to leave...." The man trails off. I start pondering over this nonsense. The superstition was getting stronger and stronger on this Island. I brush aside the discussion before continuing my walk to Iris tent. After a few more minutes I arrive at her tent. "Iris.... you in there?" I mumble before peeking into her tent. She's in the middle of hooking her grappling hook to her belt loop and putting her knife in it's stitched in sheathe. She spins around and looks at me. "Ah great to see you made it, only a few minutes late." She jokes while walking past me and outside the tent. I roll my eyes, never been scolded for arriving somewhere a couple minutes late. I turn around and follow her out the tent. "So did you decide to bring a friend to help you?" Iris asks eating a granola bar before spraying herself in air freshener from her tent and fixing her hair. I guess she didn't like smelling like everyone else in the camp. "Yea I'm bringing Zero. Can you toss me that air freshener?" I ask Iris. She looks into my eyes before speaking. "No, I'll spray you myself. Hold still." She says calmly. "Wait wh-" I start coughing as she douses me in the strong smelling aroma. Axel steps away from me sneezing while I shake the mist off my face. "Ughh, what smell is that?" I ask still coughing. "Lavender." She dryly replies before grabbing my cloak and yanking me way. Now I was getting dragged around by a girl and I smelled like a fucking flower. This day wasn't starting off in my favor. Axel trails behind us. "Where are we going now?" I mumble as my feet rapidly tap the ground trying to keep her with her fast paced walking all while I don't fall. She swings her head at an angle towards me. "We're going to get your friend, what's his name? Zerox?" She speaks I face palm myself. "His name is Zane but we call him Zero." I reply correcting her. She simple says ok and then lets my cloak go. "Why do you wear that thing?" She asks in a serious tone as she looks at my cloak. I couldn't tell her an explanation, even I didn't know myself why I wore it. When I first arrived on the island I was wearing a adidas jacket without a shirt... then after that strange dream I awoke with this cloak around me. "I uhhh...... I use it as a wind breaker?" I reply. She scans my face before shrugging. "Hmm seems legit, alright lets go." She says yanking my by my neck. I pry her grip from my neck. "i got 2 legs and know how to walk ya know?" I scoff popping my neck and fixing my blackish cloak before walking with her, Axel trailing behind every so often. a few minutes later...... We arrive up at the CF campsite, I see Walter, James, Soren, Paul, Adam, Alex, Darrius (Theropods real name), and Seamus gathered around a fire roasting their fish. I as expected, didn't see Zachary. I shrug at the thought of him chasing after that girl of his. Soren is the first to speak to me. "Drake finally you came to visit us!" He laughs giving me a pat on the shoulder. I simply nod at him and look over to the rest of the group coming over to me. "Drake how ya been?" Paul asks me, I haven't really hung around him ever since the expedition. "I'm good." I reply. Paul looks over to Iris. James however beats him to the punch. "Drake, she your new girlfriend?" James rudely says aloud. Soren and Paul shake their heads, Iris looks back at me. Her soft grey eyes staring into mine with a wild look. "New girlfriend? No we aren't dating." She says still looking at me. I tried to figure out what she meant by that but couldn't find any clues in her facial expression or body language. Preferably her body language was what I was looking at. Darrius just looks at me with a smile while Seamus just walked away. I never really talked to those guys like I used to, one day I was gonna have to change that. I look back at Iris before speaking up. "Don't look at me, I never mentioned you to any of them." I rebuttal her cold stare. She turns back around and says hey to my friends before pulling me to the side. More and more I realized how unpredictable she was. "So Drake where's this Zerox guy?" Iris says seemingly forgetting what just happened. "His name is Zero or Zane, not Zerox." I say with a heavy sigh. "And I don't know where he is, he said he'd be ready by now." "Well if he doesn't arrive in a few minutes I guess it's just gonna be you, me, and your little wolf friend." She finishes before reaching down to scratch Axels head. "No wait that's not a good id-" I start to say before getting dumbfounded by what happened next. Axel was kicking his leg as Iris scratched him behind the ear in a passionate show of affection. "Axel?" I say looking at the black wolf. This was really surprising me. "Awww he likes me." Iris laughs kneeling down and continuing to scratch him. He rolls over on his stomach and she keeps going, his leg moving ever faster. He was like a little puppy. I get enough of this and stop it. "Alright that's enough now here comes Zero." I snap my fingers as I spot Zero across the camp emerging from his tent. Even though he wasn't a CF member he was a close enough friend to live in the camp. Iris stands back up and fiddles with the grappling hook strapped to her belt. I still had no idea how she planned to use that thing. "Alright guyssssss wow so this is Iris?" Zero says looking Iris up and down. I shoot him a look that what he's doing is not a good idea. But Iris shoots him down before I can stop him. "Please don't look at my ass ok?" Iris says turning to face Zero. Zero is speechless but quickly apologizes. "I-I'm sorry Iris." He lowers his head in submission. Iris simply looks at him before looking back at the group of people surrounding us. "Alright Drake's friends, I'm gonna borrow this guy and Zerox here." "Zero...." I mumble under my breath. "Yea that, for a hunting trip which will be about an hour or two. I've been tracking the location of a small group of boars outside the camp." Iris talks. My gut feels heavy. "Ah great, she really wants to see me tackle a boar..." I mutter to Zero. He gives a blank look and turns back to Iris. Axel sits down panting. "I want to see if you wouldn't mind me using Drake and Axel for initiating the ambush, where me and Zerox..." "Zero....." "Yea whatever, we will initiate the killing of the boar." Iris finishes. A long pause ensues before everyone of my friends nods in agreement. "Go ahead." Walter nods as if he already knew Iris. Iris runs her hand through my hair before turning my head towards her and looking me in the eyes again. "Be a good boy like Axel and do as I say and this will go fluidly ok?" Iris says patting me on my head before pulling the bandages off my forehead and tossing them in a nearby waste area. I reach my hand up to touch my head where the bandages were. "Never knew I was a dog..." I mutter at how she rubbed my head. "Oooooooo Drake got bitched." James laughs lowly thinking I didn't hear him. I kick him in the gut and send him cringing for a brief moment in agony. "Shut the fuck up." I say before Iris comes back over to me and Zero. "Alright I'm ready lets go." Iris says before grabbing me by my cloak again and dragging me with her. "Come on Axel." Iris whistles for my dog. I didn't expect him to listen to her but was shocked when I saw him walking right on her command. "So it's like that you damn dog?" I mutter in annoyance as he and Zero trail behind us into the forest. 30 minutes to an hour later........ we arrive at the hunting area where Iris tracked the boars... ![]() I sit in my ambsuh spot from the treetops while Axel hid in a thick clump of bushes. I still could not understand for the life of me how he was so intelligent to quickly learn commands and how to execute them in such short time. He truly wasn't a regular wolf.... he had the intelligence of something smarter.... yet something was off about him... something I couldn't put my finger on..... as if I was looking at myself. "Just a matter of time Axel..... the pig bitches should be here soon...." I yawn closing my eyes and remembering the plan Iris gave us. a bit earlier...... "When you hear the calls wait for them to pass your tree, then make Axel flush them from the back while you hop through the trees to keep them on the designated path while you do that, I want you to mark the one you see as the best choice by throwing you axe into its side, once they get close enough Drake break rejoin the chase and attack the boar with me and Zero. We'll wound it even more with Axel and you go in for the kill with your tomahawk and knife." Iris says drawing a picture of it in the dirt. "You sure this will work? I don't think Axel follows commands well." Zane says scratching his head. I cut him off with a rebuttal. "Axel should be good, this is similar to how wolves hunt anyways, once they start running his predatory instinct should kick in." I refute him. "And if the boars fight back instead of run?" "Then I'll force em to flee by wounding them." "And how the hell you plan to do that?" "I'll slash the tendons in one of their legs and make em limp away." I finish the back and forth. I snap back into the present as the sound of boar calls greets my ears. I could hear them at the same time as Axel... I snap at him. "Axel go go!" I yell at the wolf. Axel runs into the brush and everything gets quiet. I pull my tomahawk out it's sheathe on my shoulder before taking out my knife from my calf. The wind blows the leaves and sways the branches as the sun dips behind the clouds withdrawing its holy light from the demonic appearance my cloak gave me. I toss over my hood and crouch on the edge of a branch. I had to chase these beasts to Iris and Zero a few ways ahead. I stay still for what seems like an eternity before the sounds of barking and calls get louder as Axel chases 2 boars out of the brush snapping viciously as their heels. "Time to go!" I laugh before throwing my tomahawk into the side of the larger boar, and old looking male. The axe crashing into his skin and bone as the beast lets out a bellow as blood gushes from the wound. "Alright it's marked for you!" I yell over to Iris across the hunting area. I then follow chasing them from the trees while Axel pursues from the ground, my enhanced speed and agility allowing me to traverse the canopy with the speed of a tempest. Before I knew it I was already at the area where Zane and Iris were hidden. The 2 boars barrage through the bushes as Axel manages to bite the flank of the marked boar and held it in place. The large boar was now dragging my dog all over the ground trying to get at him with its tusk but Axel kept a firm grip on its flank until he managed to rip a chunk from it and lost his grip as the meat ripped of the boar and into his mouth. The suid bellows in pain as it turns to attack Axel but before he could do that Zane burst through the bushes and slashed the suids back legs cutting clean through the tendons and ligaments holding them together and leaving long gashes in its hide. I sit in the tree waiting for my chance to finish it off but then see the other boar running away and gun it and chase after it by myself with just my knife. "I'll get this small one! You guys just hold that one till I get back!" I yell at them as I leapt from the tree onto the head of the smaller female boar and smashed its skull into the dirt with my foot, figured why not just kill them both instead of one ya know? The female lets out a loud scream as I reach out from my cloak and grab onto the lip of the small boar as it rampaged into the brush with me on its body away from everyone, even though it was small it still weighed a bit more than me. I start to rapidly stab at its throat and jaws with my knife. Blood gushes out onto my hand with every slash and stab of my my dagger, the female suid manages to dislodge my grip off her tusk and caused me to fall off her back and get dragged across the leaves and dirt as I held onto my knife embedded in her jaw with one arm. The boar sow drags me for about 15 feet before I managed to shift my weight all onto her face and neck causing her to lose balance and topple forward as we both crash into a tree base. I rip my knife out and then proceed to thrust it down the pigs throat and rip it back out. The female bellows before falling over dead. I get up and look around taking a photographic image of where I was in my mind before running back to the others, using the sounds they made and the scent of the boars blood. "One down, now for the male." I say to myself before scaling a tree and hopping back to my original position. I get there only to see they still haven't managed to weaken the boar enough for the final kill. Axel ran back in and bit the male boar on the lip trying to secure a hold but was quickly repelled by the beasts flailing head. Zane attempts another slash this time at the neck of the boar with his Iron sword. As he raises his weapon he is knocked off balance by the boars barrel shaped body hit him. "Zero!" I yell at him as he is launched back into a small boulder. He gets back up with his sword still in his hand. He stumbles for a bit before shaking it off and continuing his coordinated assault with Axel. Iris was nowhere to be seen yet. "I'm ok! Iris now!" He yells for her. Iris suddenly leaps out of the brush of a over hanging tree with her grappling hook in her hands. She lands right on the boars back before hooking around the boars right tusk with her hook and ripping into it with a repeateded jack knifing motion. The boar yells and squirts blood from its face as it kept trying to buck her off. She maintains her anchor point on the boars back for a brief moment before ripping her grappling hook out of its face and hooking into its foreleg holding it down. Zero runs in to slash the tendons in the boars remaining leg as Axel bites down with his jaws on the boars nose and lip. I get ready for my ever imminent final blow as I throw my cloak around me and crouch down like an assassin. "Drake finish it off!" Iris yells at me as she, Zero, and Axel restrain and pin the still struggling boar. Without a word I leapt from the trees like a monkey with my knife already at the ready and hop on the boars back where I rip my tomahawk from its flank and proceed to hack and slash away at the boars neck until it's nearly decapitated. The boar screams one final song before collapsing dead. Blood pools around the carcass as I hop of its back and onto a rock while Zero and Iris already have backed away. Axel starts munching on the back leg of the boar as he yanks it from the socket and trots away to a spot near me. I hop off the rock where I am greated by Zero and Iris. "My god.... that grappling hook is a horridly messy weapon to use. Anyways I killed the other boar it's over there." I say in pointing as I flick the blood off my black steel tomahawk and knife before sheatheing them. Iris picks off the hanging skin and tooth shards on her hook before straopping it back to her belt. Zero wipes his sword with a cloth from his pocket before sheatheing it back on his back. "Yep, I love this thing. And you killed that other boar by yourself? Good work, looks like we got more than we bargained for." Iris chuckles before walking over to the boar and taking her knife back out and a large black plastic bag from her pocket proceeds to cut into the boar and cache all the good parts in the bag. She takes a few minutes before leaving the remains for the scavengers. She then initiates me to go show her where the other boar is. After everything is said and done I stand around with my group by the male boards mutilated body where the flies and lizards already started to come out the woodwork. "Nice hunt guys, Drake you live up to your reputation. Never have I seen a guy execute a hunting plan as quickly as you. You even killed the other boar, way to over achieve." Iris says giving me a hug for the first time. I don't know what to do. I killed the other boar because I wanted the extra meat for me and Axel.... but it seems she took that meat anyways... I ponder over what I should do about her hugging me. "You could start by hugging me back." Iris says as if she just read my thoughts. I glance over to Zero, he urges me to do it. I then wrap my arms around Iris and we hug for a brief moment. We then break off the embrace as I finally rip the bandages off my chest and wipe the blood off my hands. "So we headed back?" I ask as I looked up at the sunny sky. "Yea lets get this meat salted and preserved for tonights feast." Iris says walking away in front of us. I look over to Zane. "Thanks for coming Zero, made this hunt a lot easier on both me and the execution." I say with a smile before tapping Zero on the shoulder. "Don't worry about it, lets go." Zero says walking away. I whistle for Axel and we make our way back to the camp. As we walk a male voice whispers in my head.... the same one I heard before the elk.. "Tomorrow.... she becomes like you...." the voice echoes in my psyche. I stop walking for a minute. Iris and Zero turn around. 'Is something wrong Drake?" Zane asks me looking concerned. I shake my head. "N-No... everythings fine. Lets keep walking." I mutter walking ahead of them. We had been out here for about two hours..... Later that night back at the main campsite.... ![]() We arrive to camp to see everyone in the middle of walking around the camp picking up their waste and burning the scrap of food and waste they left all around the ground in a pile. Others are bust picking up any feces they find and spraying tons of febreeze and spilling huge amounts of carpet cleaner and pine sol from the salvage of their belongings onto the ground to freshen up the area. I inhale the air deeply, it still stunk but was getting better and better. Axel rubs his paw on his nose at the strong smell as we walk over and set the meat down in front of Darrius and Paul who were already waiting for our return. "Here's the boar meat and bones we acquired." Iris said tossing the bag over to Paul who then gives it to Darrius for preserving it. The sky gets darker and the lights from the electric lamps and sparse campfires light up everyones tents. Paul looks at my barely visible silohuette before speaking. "How was the hunt?" He asks yawning. Zero replies wiping his hair. "Good, we killed 2 boars, a large male and a sow. I see the main camp is finally getting cleaned up." He finishes as Walter over hears us and walks over. "Yep, I got Dave, Nick, and Clint to help us get this operation going earlier today after Zero told us what you said although Dave and Nick won't be helping till later on. Can't believe we were so preoccupied with our own camps that we didn't see how filthy this place was. Anyways the cleaning process is off to a strong start but it'll be a minute before this place gets clean." Walter says crossing his arms. I look over at Alex, Seamus, and Bree down a few tents pointing and trafficking where to put things, Adam and Soren and James were over burning the scraps of food and waste a bit away from the center of the camp. Chattering and talking can be heard along with the barks of the coyotes. Iris looks at Walter. "Aren't they just gonna use the bathroom all over the place again and dirty it back up?" She says in a sarcastic tone. "Nope, Clint is making some guys dig ditches a little bit off the edge of the camp headed towards the beach. Everyone will use the bathroom there like we do, and when something gets near full we just bury the ditch. Boom problem solved." Paul butts in with a smile. "Nice job Paul, anyways I gotta go wash this blood off my body. I'll see you guys later." Zane says fist bumping everyone before running off to the beach. "Me and Paul better get back to it then. You guys have a good night now." Walter says patting my shoulder before walking away. I wave to Paul as he walks away as well before looking back down at Axel. I shuffle my feet in the cool dirt before breathing in the crisp night time air blown in from the tide. "Well, I guess me and Axel are headed back off into the forest. Bye Iris." I say my goodbye as I attempt to walk away with the wolf. Iris suddenly spins me around and yanks me by my hair. She brings her grey eyed gaze to meet mine. "No, you're staying here, You are gonna eat here and take a wash up. I can't stand watching you act so isolated and shit. Loosen up." She says letting my hair go. I simply look at her amazed at what just happened, never in my life has a female had the nerve to manhandle me by my head. I cough out some words rubbing my head. "Me and Axel don't even have a place to sleep." I give an excuse. She then hits me with a weird offer which quickly became a demand. "You can... no. You will sleep in my tent with me. I gotta keep an eye on you." She smiles before patting me on the jaw. I emit a surprised noise. "Um what?" I say trying to figure out if she really just said that. She grabs my hair again and yanks my head to hers as she began speaking into my ear. "You'll sleep in my tent with me. Don't think nasty or anything as I have a spare sleeping bag. Was initially ment for Bree my sister but I'm sure she's already huddled up under some stranger man." She finishes letting me go and pointing over to a pen by her tent across the camp where they kept the animals. "Go take a wash up, you stink of blood and boar meat. I'll go put Axel up in a pen and throw him some meat." Iris says whistling for Axel to come to her, for some reason the wolf would do everything she wanted but I had to argue with him just to get him to sit. I sigh. "Fine whatever, I'll meet you at your tent..." I say as she lets my hair go. I toss back on my hood and pad off to the washing area at CF camp. The sounds of cleaning and chatter asthe smell of burning waste and air freshener continued. 30 minutes later...... at Iris' tent... ![]() "Iris, you in there?" I mumble as I come back from my washup with a clean cloak and skin, I really needed one, all the dirt and grime was cleaned off of me and I smelled nice again, at least it wasn't like lavender again.. "Yea I'm in here, come in." Iris says from the zipped up tent. I look around before unzipping the tent and crouching to walk into it. I look amongst the blankets to see Iris in the corner reading a book, "Tale of two cities". I chuckle at the book where she lowers it from her face and looks at me. She was now wearing a fresh white tank top and some black shorts with black socks. I shake my head still laughing. "What?" She says with a puzzled look. "Nothing nothing just that Paul once read that book and hated it. I found it funny that you were reading it that's all." I laugh as I sit down across from her. She hands me a sleeping bag while closing her book and getting ready to sleep herself. "Zip back up my tent will ya?" She says pointing to it. "Oh my bad..." I get up walking over and zipping it up before I got in my sleeping bag thinking about Axel causing drama in his pen. He should be alright though. Iris looks over to me. "Drake, why do you act so distant and hate talking to people? I noticed you barely even talk to your own friends." She asks still sitting up. I put my hand behind my head as a prop before looking at the ceiling of her tent and speaking. "I don't know.... I don't have a good rep around here if you hadn't noticed." I say sarcastically. Iris thumps me in the head. I flinch in pain. "What was that for?" I mumble. "Don't be a smartass towards me. I only asked a question." She replies. "I'm sorry." "It's good, anyways I'm tired. We'll talk more in the morning Drake." She says turning off her electric lamp and rolling over in her sleeping bag. "Ok.... goodnight." I say before wrapping up in my bag. "Night." She replies. As I drift off to sleep I can't help but wonder why I didn't notice a girl like Iris until recently..... was this planned? As I doze off I remember that one ominous voice speaking to me in the forest... "Tomorrow.... she becomes like you...." To be continued................... Edited by Black Ice, Dec 28 2013, 09:33 AM.

Hudson bay company and its eventually more powerful younger rival the Northwest company were very successful Canadian furtrading companies that eventually merged with Northwest company pretty much buying out Hudsons bay company but they went with the name Hudsons bay company because it was older they are now a deparment store under the name "The Bay" they are Canada's longest running buisness |
