Weapon name: Izanami no Mikoto ("She who invites," also known as "Izanami-no-kami.")
Weapon genre: Sharp
Weapon type: Twin Swords
Material: Mythical metal that responds to the bearer of the Enjin no Taiyou.
Size: Varies.
How is it carried around: Carefully sheathed on each arm, strapped to her forearms in such a way as to not limit her mobility.

Appearance: http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_4MUf6T4VzPw/SYRY...-papercraft.jpg x 2

Amount: 2
Abilities:

These mythical weapons have a few stereotypical abilities: they respond to the one who wears the Enjin no Taiyou, so no other hand can touch these weapons without being scalded and terribly burned. As Kin is the only one who can use the Enjin no Taiyou, then by association only she can wield these swords.

They have very minor control over the length of their blades, allowing them to shrink enough to fit up Kin's sleeves or lengthen out to 1.25 feet long.

While not outright unbreakable, they do have a great deal of durability, much harder to break than any normal weapon, and tend to actively resist being broken. Also, upon broken, they use their natural heat to fuse the shards back together, and if broken, the swords will naturally attract each other.

They are quite light and are easy to wield quickly, but are ill-suited to blocking. The weak weight allows for very easy parries and counter-strikes.

For outright offense, the swords emit a blazing heat and are always surrounded by a heat blur. This makes even the slightest cut much more painful as it burns while slashing, but the heat will cause any wounds to instantly cauterize any wounds, so while blood loss is no threat, opponents will deal with rough, painful scars to limit their movement. The cutting power is nothing exceeding, not quite worth being compared to specially forged weapons, but they do surpass conventional smithwork.

At will, Kin can release incredible searing flames from her sword slashes, the heat determining the color of the flames, which serves as a sign of the strength. Red is Low, Orange is Moderate, Blue is Medium, White is High, and Black is Very High.

The weapon's skill of "Razzia" allows Kin to release the flames in the forms of flying crescents that slice into a target and then explode, with the strength determined by the flames' color.

The weapons can be linked at the hilt and wielded together, though this does not affect any of the weapon's strength. While linked, Kin can generate barriers of flame to shield herself, with the strength once more depending on the color of the flames.

Finally, the weapons have the natural property of having their flames be immune to water. The flames can be smothered with dirt or deprived of oxygen, but no amount of water will put them out, allowing them to cling and spread to a target, even capable of attaching to chakra-based defenses.

The most dangerous aspect is a power referred to as "Ame-no-nuhoko," or Heavenly Jeweled Spear. Named for the mystical naginata used by Izanagi and Izanami to create the world, it is a powerful, all or nothing attack that is the perfect incarnation of Izanami's symbolism of bring death to the world. If Kin has not used her Mangekyou Sharingan in the battle, she can summon Susanoo while wielding this weapon. Due to Kin wielding the Totsuka sword with her Susanoo due to receiving it from Itachi, her Susanoo can use its sword to adopt the flames from Kin's blades and slash outwards in an attack designed to incinerate anything before it, carrying an insanely high payload. This strike does NOT carry the sealing attribute of the Sakegari, but a defense would have to be truly frightening to block such an attack.

Ability chakra cost or requirement:

The actual flame manipulation costs almost no chakra in and of itself, and the attraction/re-forging work the same way. Much of the chakra costs come from the amount poured into the flames themselves.

Red Fire: Very Low
Orange Fire: Low
Blue Fire: Moderate
Red Fire: Medium
Black Fire: High
Susanoo Combo: Very High+Cost for the fire color.

Attachments: None.
Special notes: The individual swords are titled "Gan Jiang" and "Mo Ye," and are referred to as "Izanami" when in a pair. This comes from a Japanese and a Chinese legend:

In the Japanese myth of how Death entered the world, Izanagi and Izanami were the creators of the world. Izanami died in childbirth, and Izanagi lamented the death of Izanami-no-Mikoto and undertook a journey to Yomi ("the shadowy land of the dead"). Quickly, he searched for Izanami and found her. At first, Izanagi-no-Mikoto could not see her at all for the shadows hid her appearance well. Nevertheless, he asked her to return with him. Izanami spat out at him, informing Izanagi that he was too late. She had already eaten the food of the underworld and was now one with the land of the dead. She could no longer return to the living.

Izanagi was shocked at this news but he refused to give in to her wishes of being left to the dark embrace of Yomi. While Izanami-no-Mikoto was sleeping, he took the comb that bound his long hair and set it alight as a torch. Under the sudden burst of light, he saw the horrid form of the once beautiful and graceful Izanami-no-Mikoto. She was now a rotting form of flesh with maggots and foul creatures running over her ravaged body. Crying out loud, Izanagi could no longer control his fear and started to run, intending to return to the living and abandon his death-ridden wife. Izanami woke up shrieking and indignant and chased after him. Wild shikome (foul women) also hunted for the frightened Izanagi, instructed by Izanami to bring him back.

Izanagi-no-Mikoto burst out of the entrance and quickly pushed a boulder in the mouth of the Yomotsuhirasaka (cavern that was the entrance of Yomi). Izanami-no-Mikoto screamed from behind this impenetrable barricade and told Izanagi-no-Mikoto that if he left her she would destroy 1,000 residents of the living every day. He furiously replied he would give life to 1,500.

G¨¡n Ji¨¤ng and M¨° Y¨¦ was the name of a famous swordsmith couple in the Spring and Autumn Period of China, and also the name of the famed twin blades named after the two. The yang sword is "Gan Jiang" while the yin counterpart is "Mo Ye".

According to the Wuyue Chunqiu, King Hel¨¹ of Wu ordered Gan Jiang, who studied with another famous blacksmith Ou Yezi, to craft two swords for him. However, Gan Jiang found that his blast furnace failed to melt the metal. His wife, Mo Ye, suggested that there weren't enough human qi in the furnace so the couple cut off their hair and nails and cast them into the furnace while 300 children blew air into the bellows, and Mo Ye herself jumped into flames in order to melt the metal.

The resulting two swords were called "Gan Jiang" and "Mo Ye" after the two blacksmiths who forged them. Gan Jiang kept "Gan Jiang" for himself and presented "Mo Ye" to the king, who was first angered by the slow forging process but delighted with the result. However, after an underling told him that the male sword of the two was kept and secretly hidden by Gan Jiang, he ordered Gan Jiang's death.

The son of Gan Jiang and Mo Ye later used the sword Gan Jiang for revenge by giving the sword and his own head to a traveller who tricked the king to look into the head that won't rot even when boiled for 3 days and nights. The traveller cut the king's and his own head off to help complete the revenge. The three heads was buried together since none of the features were recognisable. The king's vassels thought that the two young men were so honourable that they, too, earned the title of king. Thus the tomb was called the grave of three kings.

Mind giving me an example of the strength of, say, a red explosion and a black explosion, just so I can see how strong they are?

The weapons can be linked at the hilt and wielded together, though this does not affect any of the weapon's strength. While linked, Kin can generate barriers of flame to shield herself, with the strength once more depending on the color of the flames.

Same as above. A few colour examples so I can tell just how strong they are.

Finally, the weapons have the natural property of having their flames be immune to water. The flames can be smothered with dirt or deprived of oxygen, but no amount of water will put them out, allowing them to cling and spread to a target, even capable of attaching to chakra-based defenses.

This I’m unsure about. While this isn’t such an issue outside of combat, in a combat situation the opponent isn’t really going to get a chance to put out the fire any way that doesn’t involve water.

>_>;

Let me get this straight. This ability allows Kin to use her most powerful technique as long as she doesn’t use her Mangekyou Sharingan. Which would then make using her Mangekyou Sharingan pointless to activate, if she can use Susanoo straight away. And on top of that, seeing as she isn’t actually using Mangekyou to summon it, it appears as if she also bypasses the main side effect of using Susanoo, the deterioration of her sight.

Am I mistaken in any part?

Red's about as strong as a firecracker, black's about as strong as the explosion from Itachi's Bunshin Bakuha.

Same as above. A few colour examples so I can tell just how strong they are.

Flip the above answer from defensive to offensive and that should clear it up.

This I’m unsure about. While this isn’t such an issue outside of combat, in a combat situation the opponent isn’t really going to get a chance to put out the fire any way that doesn’t involve water.

Guess so....can I have at it so that "normal" water won't work, but Suiton (that is, water+chakra) will work?

Nonono. That line meant that she can't have used Amaterasu or Tsukuyomi, as using one of those two immediately ensures she does not have the chakra for Susanoo. In order to summon Susanoo, Kin must have the MS on but NOT used Tsukuyomi or Amaterasu. The Jeweled Spear is basically combining her fire from the swords with Susanoo itself; all side effects of Susanoo and MS still apply.

That is fine.

Oh. >_> That's more reasonable.

Approved.
