When Malori was first impressed by Nimhailleth 19 turns ago, she became envious of Sahannah, her competition for the Queen she was searched to be impressed by. However, over the years, that envy became a hybrid with longing. Until recently, her feelings had been kept silent, kept under a mask because of J'xon, Sahannah's weyrmate. How could Malori expect Sahannah to choose her, over the Bronzerider that was bringing back prosperity to the weyrs.

This went on for many years, Malori secretly pining after Sahannah, and Sahannah already knowing, being the wise Weyrwoman she was. After Shadanth's first Queen, Priorith rose for her second flight, Malori slipped into the Weyrwoman's quarters and professed her attraction to Sahannah, whom promptly, but politely, turned her down.

Under the hurt, and anger at being denied the love of Sahannah, and the control of the Weyr it would be accompanied by, she devised a plot to secretly murder the Senior Weyrwoman. That night, she slipped a poison into the tea that Sahannah had requested be brought every night. To be sure, she slipped it into both cups. Later she realized that J'xon was out on a flight training with the graduating weyrlings, so she was denied that small pleasure at the destruction of the one who became an obstacle for her object of affection.

Only later did she realize what she had done, sadly it was too late to go back, and she mourned the loss for a couple weeks, and is still pretty surly to this day. A change her student Weyrlings are well aware of. As she used to be a kind Weyrling Master, now is filled with rage, and hate.

To date, no one has been able to link her to the crime, though it's possible the Weyrwoman may have discussed her affections with others, because some of the other goldriders have their doubts...

When Priorith rose for the first time in the beginning of her 4th turn, the Bronze riders came from all the Weyrs in Pern for the chance to be the mate to the new queen. However, the Bronzes from Bendan adamantly refused, without the others knowing why. They had grown along with Priorith, and seen first hand what a handful she was and could be. They had had no desire to be tied to that, save one male, Monolith whom was sent in the batch of eggs from Fort Weyr to be hatched and Impressed in Bendan.

When she was in the center of the bowl, with all the males around, the riders witnessed a rare happening, the Queen roared at the Bronze dragons attempting to start before she. The riders of Bendan Weyr shrunk back into their caves, knowing full well this wouldn't be a typical rising. Then one Bronze, barely mature, was over eager before Priorith even rose, she promptly slashed his left wing and roared in his face. With that male down for the count, she took off flying, but as each Bronze moved to catch her, she turned and bit him. She had a goal in mind. She would reach the highest point she could. The males that couldn't get to her, or the ones who were over eager were beneath her.

As she climbed higher and higher, more and more Bronze dragons were injured, or fell behind the pace she set. The one she'd seen flying around everywhere was still just out of reach, This one's smart... she told her rider, who didn't give an answer, but that was OK with Priorith. As she reached her Altitude goal, she looked back still seeing Monolith slightly behind and the other bronzes further away, or on the ground already, having their wounded pride nursed no doubt. She slowed slightly for the bronze to catch her. Through the link, she could feel her rider's pleasure, but that was all secondary.

Nothing else mattered in this moment but the male who'd caught her, the male who had flown the highest, and been the most tactful, he was the wisest, and he was now hers. And she was his in comparison. Their dragonets would have brains and wits with them, not like the stupid, over eager males that came before. When they were done, her flight had left them with many leagues left to glide back to the Weyr, and they did so, but closer now, then on the way up.

The last clutch of Priorith's eggs, upon hatching, went along with their new riders to the other Weyrs for Population Control. A transfer program that had been implemented to prevent the overpopulation of one weyr, and under population of another. Shortly after the dragonets had all been sent to their new homes, Infinis, rider of Astaroth, from Priorith's first clutch, bid her friends a farewell. She was going to be spending some time in Fort Weyr learning the Healing Arts.

With a saddened leave, the other riders mourned the loss of the newest Jr. Weyrwoman, but took slight joy in the knowledge that she would be returning once her training was complete.

Updates on Infinis' progress:
[x] Has left Bendan Weyr
[x] Has arrived at Fort Weyr
[x] Has begun her studies
[ ] Has advanced in her studies
[ ] Has completed her training
[ ] Has taking the final test
[ ] Has left Fort Weyr
[ ] Has arrived back at Bendan
