I love Death Note. I’m sorry, because I’m a bit of a fanboy, but this series (translated from Japanese, sorry) is an excellent mashup of police drama, psychological thriller, and other-worldly notebooks that kill people by writing their names in them. I used this to rehearse a convenient tactic; that is reading a story you already know. Practicing in this way is great for focusing on language, and how story elements are presented in the medium of another language. Death Note Episode 1 |
