All right here is just a normal symbolic post I have always seen in FF7. Aerith = Humanity: Kindness, innocence, humility, childish, naivety, sympathy, foolishness...etc. Cloud = Mankind: All people, the human race, cold, arrogant, distant, materialistic, lost, struggling...etc. Tifa = Love: passion, warmth, selfishness as well as selflessness, affection, most beautiful and most painful, unconditional...etc. Sephiroth = Corruption: moral perversion, depravity, malevolent, poison, decay, deception, cruelty...etc. So basically FF7 is a story about mankind. Mankind has become bleak and cold, yet arrogant. This is why the setting of FF7 is so dark and dreary. It just seems cold. It takes place in a very industrial place where lust, greed, and violence seems to run wild. It shows what mankind has become. They have reached the peak of engineering and even a strange energy source, and yet, it is far from a utopia. Many people have lost their lives, their homes, friends and family along the way, and decency seems to be a thing of the past. There is love, but the world has become so cold it can rarely notice love, or what love even is. In the end this love will usually cause pain or go unnoticed. However, then there is humanity. There is one shred of humanity left in the world that still manages to touch mankind. This only bright thing that seems to bring light into such a broken world. Mankind now has both love and humanity, yet struggles to find out what the two actually are. In the end, corruption ends up taking humanity, leaving mankind with only love. This love that causes great pain, but also great happiness. Mankind then worries about becoming corrupted. Without humanity, one will surely be corrupted, even with love. That love can be easily twisted and perverted. In the end though, mankind realizes that humanity is not truly dead. humanity will never cease to exist in the world. Mankind must keep their senses open to truly allow humanity in. Mankind cannot be completely corruption free, but must keep humanity and love close at it's side. |
