Tifa always seems to get a lot of shit as a character. She gets called slut, a bad mother, a stereotypical waifu, and that she's boring with nothing to her.

Most that I've seen hating on Tifa have been anti-cloti's that are absurd in their ship and say things like "Tifa and Cloud aren't even friends. " these same fans have a tendency to turn Aerith into Jesus who walks on water and turns water into wine.

Tifa also gets called overrated quite often and how she's just a clingy dependent woman on Cloud.

The critics disagree with that to the NTH degree.

Although Aerith was a well received character as well, Tifa's numbers went off the charts.

Tifa has been beloved ever since her release. She is even compared to video game badasses such as Lara Croft.

Most say, strip away their big breasts and they're nothing, but here's what people don't seem to get.

Tifa is hot. She's gorgeous, and her outfit is skimpy. However, she is RESPECTED and not your typical damsel in distress.

Tifa and Lara were both created when women were prizes to be won. And both Lara and Tifa had their breast size reduced in recent years.

Tifa shows that having large boobs doesn't make you ditzy, or even mean you have nothing going for you but your looks. Tifa does a pretty good job on keeping up with the males in her group and I describe her as "a lady among boys"

She even plays a large role in saving the planet, and proves that the main protagonist needs HER a lot more than she needs him. She is able to look after herself, deal with her own problems, and look after children as well, all while keeping in shape.

She is a model of feminism and proves that women can look damn sexy, and be a strong, respectable person anyway.

In FF7, Cloud goes to rescue Tifa and then finding out she didn't NEED to be rescued, she had everything under control. She has been shown to be able to go toe-to-toe with Sephiroth, and even overpowered Loz, a MAN who is much taller, bigger, and considerable more muscle than she is.

He wins, because he needs a WEAPON to help him win. Tifa was too fast and strong for him to handle without the help of his electricity, and even when she's HIT with it, she just SHAKES IT OFF.

She just shows that women can be anything. They can wear whatever the hell they want, and be a respectable person. Although her clothes is most definitely a source of eye-candy, she proves to be a woman of substance.

Tifa has more emotional fortitude than the main protagonist, and earns a special place as a well deserving heroine.

In media today, women are conditioned about their looks all the time. You can't have small breasts without getting made fun of, you can't have large breasts without being made fun of and being turned into a sex object, you can't wear skirts that show a lot of leg without getting deemed a slut or like "she's looking for attention" or even like she's giving that as an invitation to be harassed.

Not only that, Tifa IS NOT MACHO. Tifa has emotions. She gets jealous, she gets worried, she makes mistakes, AND she lashes out at people.

She remains strong, but remains a woman too. She shows that she has love for a man, shows that she can be a stay at home mom, and still have a job. She's shown to manage the bar, children, and Cloud's work too.

She also always stays by the side of her man, instead of being very "I don't need a man! I'm not a housewife! I'm a warrior! I'm a woman to be respected!!!"

In the words of Sten from Dragon Age. "I don't understand...you look like a woman. Women can't be warriors. Why would women wish to be men?"

And in the words of my female character "I'm a woman, and I'm fighting. Women don't wish to be men"

Tifa shows signs of vuneralbility. She shows signs of being a girl and taking pride in her appearance, and even shyness of people seeing her underwear. She shows signs of loving a man, and leaning on him for strength, but alternatively, she shows that she doesn't NEED a man.

She shows that she can function on her own, but that doesn't mean she is unaffected by her man's actions.

Tifa is a strong woman, and a positive role model to ALL females everywhere. She shows that just because you're a woman, you can be beautiful AND tough. You can be a housewife, AND have a career. You can wear whatever you want, AND be respected for it, and expect to be respected because YOU ARE NOT AN OBJECT.

She shows that you can be a woman fighting alongside boys. No one ever gives Tifa the line "but you're a girl!"

At least none that I can recall.

Boys also love Tifa, and not just because of her big boobs. I showed a friend of mine Tifa, and he immediately judged her based on her clothes and her boobs, UNTILL he saw her fight.

I heard him yell "HOLY SHIT SHE KICKS ASS!!!" and within seconds was cheering her on.

Men love Tifa because she's NOT PERFECT. They love her because she is a strong woman who is shown to function and be their to help. You don't always have to worry about protecting her, or that she'll be in danger. You have some idea that you're ok because she's got your back. She can help you carry a burden, and that she'll always be there for you.

Tifa shows obvious signs of weakness in the game, yet it's proven that the ability to admit to feeling these is a sign of strength. She also doesn't come out of these trauma's unaffected. She is VERY damaged by the end of the game.

Despite that, Tifa never loses her sense of self. She picks herself up and doesn't give up.

Tifa is strong, not impervious. And was very difficult to create because "there's so much to her"

Tifa is very complex, and is not a boring or flat character. People who define Tifa as such are clearly missing the point of who and what Tifa Lockhart is.

She is shown to have girlish, princess like fantasies, yet still be a strong warrior. She's an empowered female. She also uses her female-ness to her advantage.

Tifa acts like she's weaker than she is. Such as in Dissidia when she's with Kain and she says "girl like me? I probably can't make is to cosmos on my own"

When we ALL know that is complete bullshit.

She bats those pretty eyelashes and catches her opponent off guard, which is just what she did to Loz. He laughed at her, and said "this should be fun" next thing he knows, she's beating the shit out of him.

I feel that one thing rings true for Tifa, is when Morrigan in DA says "men are always willing to believe two things about a woman. 1) that she is weak. and 2) that she finds him attractive"

Don Cornero anyone?

Tifa got all dolled up, using her sex appeal to her advantage. Here comes a beautiful girl, and no one expects she is a fierce brawler under her gorgeous and girly figure.

Tifa lives on as one of the most adored females for a reason you know. She's a very positive role model.
