Welcome back to your second week of Charms! Being, and becoming, a werewolf is probably one of the nastiest diseases that you could have. Once a month, at full moon, you will complete a painful transformation into a werewolf and lose all sense of self along the way. Once transformed, you could, and would, kill your best friends if they were close. Luckily, there is a Potion that can make one keep their sense of self. But we're not here to discuss Potions or Defence Against the Dark Arts but the latter falls into this week. There is a charm which has the ability to change a werewolf temporarily back into their human form, although it is unknown if they regain their sense of self should they not take the potion. This is called the Homorphus Charm. The Homorphus Charm is pronounced Hom-OR-fuss and the wand movement is a 'lasso slash' towards the werewolf. It is, however, an extremely complex spell which is why many don't perform it. There is to evidence to suggest that if performed incorrectly you will remain forever in werewolf form but people don't want to take the risk. This spell was supposedly used by Gilderoy Lockhart to cure the Wagga-wagga werewolf, but we all know what Gilderoy's mind was like! You might be asking yourself "Why are we studying this if it is more to do with Transfiguration?" ~ the simple answer is that it is named 'Charm' ![]() Homework Please write me a paragraph or two on the following question: Would a Werewolf regain their sense of self after this spell had been performed on them without them having taking the Potion previously? |
