Old Washington, as the city is sometimes called, was once the capital city of Nova Angleterre, and as such, many of its buildings are reminiscent of days of old. Outside the former Federal District, Washington is sprawling and growing every day. Many companies have headquarters in the old Capital, and some federal agencies still operate out of their old offices in Washington. There are three major universities in Washington: Deckard University, Washington University and National University. The city boasts one of the best public school systems in the country, and its culture is diverse, ranging from street performers looking for a lucky break to thousands filling theaters and opera houses to hear amazing musical and theatrical feats. Safety Protocols in case of any attack on the city: The Washington Metro Police will be out in full force if the city is chosen to host. The police will have the backing of the USNA military. Number of Hotels in the downtown area or city itself: 6 within Washington itself, with the usage of 10-15 in nearby New Washington, Arlington and Alexandria Why do you want to host the cup? The people of The United States of Nova Angleterre are teeming with excitement and wonder about the CCF Cup, and the prospects of one of the nation's most historic cities hosting the event. Visitors coming to the Washington area will take in the grandeur that still exists within the Old Capital City, and have their breath taken away by the vibrant culture the city has built for itself over a long period of time. President Joesph R. Biden remarked, "We would be intensely proud to host an event of this caliber." |

Already said this in my original application ![]() I'll summarize: Ironicness loves the CTF. We haven't really gotten a chance to open ourselves up to the Commonwealth. We think visitors will love Jasperion City, and we would love to host the visitors. The city and national government is excited about the chance. |

Country: Karputsk City that will be holding the Cup: Prutin Population of that city: 17 million Types of Public Transportation: Bus, Train and Tube Number of and Capacity of Stadiums (if any): 23 city Stadiums (and many more smaller, non-city Stadiums) with capacities ranging from 20,000 to 75,000 Describe your city: Western-European in style. The centre is characterised by Museums, Attractions, the Houses of Parliament, Monuments et cetera while outside of the centre it becomes a lot more residential with flats being the primary residences closer to the centre and gradually they are replaced by rows of terrace houses. As you reach the suburbs of the City it takes on the look of a leafy, small town as terraced houses are replaced with detached and semi-detached housing. Safety Protocols in case of any attack on the city: A well funded Police force with riot training, and if necessary military backup. Additionally the country has a well funded Secret Service that would be of excellent use in ensuring any threats are not just correctly corrected but also prevented. Number of Hotels in the downtown area or city itself: Hundreds. Why do you want to host the cup? Karputsk's primary sport is Football and the country has one of the most watched and followed leagues in the world. We continue to attract large foreign investment and we have seen some of the world's best players flock to the country. Putskians are almost fanatic about their football and their passion will make the Cup one to watch. Other Attractions in your city: Museum of the Revolution (a must see for any history buff), The Houses of Parliament (heart and soul of the Karputskian political system), The ruins of the former Imperial Palace (after revolutionaries stormed the Palace the tyrant Karl Muskowitz set fire to the Palace in an act of defiance), the river Kunz (the lifeblood of the city and the reason for its creation) and other such places of cultural and historical significance. How big is your Airport, Train station or other means to getting yo your country? The Prutin International Airport is the largest in the country and lies just outside the City. It has three terminals and sees a large amount of traffic pass through it year round. It has excellent tube + train connections into the city. Additionally, the railroads are a prominent feature in the Karputskian landscape. It's very uncommon for a town to be without a Train Station and regular services are to be found in almost all corners of the Country. If, however, the train service is not present then there is a sizeable private Bus industry. |

| Post #12 Feb 10 2013, 03:59 AM | Lemurian Islands | ||

Country: Lemurian Islands City that will be holding the Cup: Caeruleo, the capital Population of that city: 5 million (including suburbs and satellite towns) Types of Public Transportation: a monorail, a bus system, an underground metro and trams in the city centre. Number of and Capacity of Stadiums: There are 9 large football stadiums. The largest three are: the National Stadium with a capacity of 100 thousand, the Marino Stadium with a capacity of 50 thousand, el Estadio de la Luna with 40 thousand. Describe your city: Caeruleo has a rich history going back more than two thousand years. Roman settlers named it "Caeruleo" (Latin for blue) due to the dazzling blue of waters in the bay it is built on. Baroque is the predominant style of architecture in the city centre, although there are some sleek modern buildings as well as some remaining ancient architecture built in the Roman or Atlantean styles. The city centre also has many greenbelts and parks scattered around.The coastal side is on the west, with its many piers, marinas and the docklands. On the eastern side, beyond the suburbs and satellite towns, are mountainous lands where there is a forested national park. Lemurian Islands has a warm temperate sunny climate (it was rated best weather in Atlantis), which means tourists can enjoy the many outdoor attractions. Safety Protocols in case of any attack on the city: Caeruleo has a well funded police service with riot training that is well capable of maintaining order in the city. Until recently, the Lemurian Islands had been run by a dictator who left behind a strong military. The miltary should be able to keep order in an emergency where the police cannot. The bay of Caeruleo is constantly patrolled by the navy, in case on a foreign attack on the city by the sea. Number of Hotels in the downtown area or city itself: 54 luxury hotels, over 200 non-luxury hotels. Why do you want to host the cup?: Lemurian Islands is fanatical about football. In the second Atlantis Cup, they came in second place, after Mestra. In the third Atlantis Cup they came in first. The people in Lemurian Islands hold football in high regard and would be honored to host such an event. There is also a second reason why the Lemurians wish to host the cup. Lemurian Islands had been run by a dictator named Romulus Thorne who styled himself “Emperor” for a period of 6 years. Over six months ago, he had been overthrown in a revolution that returned the nation to democracy. The people of the Lemurian Islands are eager to present themselves as an orderly and democratic nation on the international stage. Other Attractions in your city: As mentioned, Caeruleo is by the coast. Tourists can walk on the piers, rent yachts or saiboats, go on whale watches, or relax at the pristine beaches on the north and south sides of the city. In the city centre, there are many fountains and parks. One notable park is the “forest of Diana,” an ancient Roman temple to the goddess, surrounded by a wooded a area. Another popular attraction is the Caerulean Cathedral, which had been converted from an ancient temple to Poseidon/Neptune. There are also many theatres and concert halls spread throughout the city. Tourists who like history can visit the many museums detailing the long history of Lemurian Islands, and Atlantean history. Parts of the Presidential Palace are converted into a museaum and are accessible to the public. In Caeruleo, there are hundreds of high street shops, markets and malls where tourists can shop till they drop. Caeruleo constantly receives tourists, and the tourist office is well experienced in helping visitors enhance their experience. Pamphlets in hundreds of different languages are given out, and guided tours can be arranged. Most Lemurians speak either Spanish or English as their first language, and often know one or two others (such as French or German) from school. Any tourists speaking those languages should not have much problem communicating. How big is your Airport, Train station or other means to getting to your country?: There are two airports in Caeruleo. The Caerulean International Airport receives 40 million passengers annually. The Aquila Airport receives 27 million passengers annually. Caeruleo is coastal, and can also receive millions through its ports by sea. Caeruleo is also connected by high-speed rail to other Lemurian cities. Edited by Lemurian Islands, Mar 12 2013, 06:45 PM.
