Kahlenberg Champion: Match Day 1 The CFF Opened with a 3-2 victory for Kahlenberg inside a packed stadium in what was a grueling ninety minutes. The home side took the lead on the 17th minute through Lionel Rinoldi who, from a Chris Mihill corner, headed home from close range. The lead though only lasted six minutes when the visitors leveled the score after some great play. It ended 1-1 at half time. Kahlenberg began the second half the brighter side and with two goals in two minutes from Johan Soderburg the hosts went 3-1 up. The first came from the back line with a long ball hit up field by Gillroy, nicely caught in the air by Soderburg who hit an unstoppable volley from 30 yards out which went straight into the top corner. Soderburg's second came from great play down the left handside, a cross from Manuel Suarez along the ground found Soderburg unmarked who calmy slotted the ball home from inside the 18 yard box into the bottom right hand corner. With a minute to go the visitors got a second goal but couldn't get the ball once play restarted. Full time score Kahlenberg FC 3 Silent Raid 2. (Rinoldi 17, Soderburg 56 & 58) (Yellow card(s): - ) Kahlenberg Champion: Match Day 2 Match day two ended honours even between Ellani and Kahlenberg as they turnedout a scoreless draw. Dominic Suarez came closest for the visitors and could have scored on several occasions, even hitting the post twice. Ellani had their fair share of the chances and indeed the possession but also managed to do everything but score. Full time Ellani Dragons 0 Kahlenberg FC 0 (Yellow card(s): - ) |

CFF CUP NEWS U.S.N.A. Team Leads Division I After Two Days WASHINGTON - The United States of Nova Angleterre's Democrats lead the Division I of the Commonwealth Football Federation Cup after only two days of play. The first match against Kurosiana, an Atlantis nation, was believed to be the opening salvo for an untested Nova Angleterre, considering this was the first time the U.S. had convened a national soccer team in its history. In the opening match, Democrats striker Christopher Hayes (Scosglen) and center forward Christopher Matthews (Sescheron) became the first Nova Angleterrans to score a goal in an international match in what was a coming out party of sorts for two players who were not well known amongst their fellows. Hayes, Scosglen's "silent striker", nearly led his team to a USFL League Championship in 2010 but was defeated in the semi-final by eventual champion Travincal. Matthews, a 12-year veteran center forward from Sescheron, who in 2006, helped guide his team to USFL League Championship, Sescheron's first, and thus far, only title. Hayes' and Matthews' goals were unanswered by Kurosiana, who failed to score once during the game. After 90 minutes, the Democrats were declared the winners by a score of 2-0. After the victory, the U.S.N.A. tied with The United States of Europe's Ermonte for first place in Division I, based on Ermonte's victory over 98X. The second day's match was with host nation Lemurian Islands. Many expected the hosts to defeat the Democrats, but in a shocker, they failed to do so. Once again, striker Christopher Hayes came to the rescue, scoring the game's only goal in the dying minutes of the battle. The shock in the crowd at the host nation's loss was visible when there was a nearly silent reaction when the final whistle blew before the U.S.N.A. claimed a second straight victory. With the victory, and Ermonte's scoreless draw with Atlantis's Ellani, the U.S.N.A. claimed a 2-point lead over Ermonte and fellow New Sorvun nation Ironicness in the Division I standings, giving the U.S.N.A. considerable momentum heading into Day III. Day 2 It had been a ok ish start for the Castilian team. Two draws in two matches hadn't really set the scene for a smashing start of the season. King Charles was happy more or less as 6th position in the division two is better then last place and will make for a great scene to watch as they rise to the top of the table. While not expecting it to be an easy climb to the top it was something all castilians were anticipating and wanted especially after all the recent troubles in the Atlantean region. |

![]() (provided by )Welcome to SPORTSnet, a channel of Ironicness Review- my name is Jack Gambit. I'm live here in the stunning Lemurian Islands, where my team and I are monitoring the opening games for the CFF. It's been great out here, lots of enthusiasm for the eighteen national teams playing. Let's take a recap of the past two days. Game One was packed with excitement- the Cardinals were up against Ellani's Dragons. Ellani started out with a quick goal past goalie Jay Moore- and you can see his disappointment there. The first quarter was somewhat uneventful after that, very evenly matched, until number 64, midfielder DuSance, number 64, snuck in a quick pass to winger Aropostable, 25 who scored, to even out the score. In the second half, our amazing Center Forward Fletcher Leon went straight for the goal- missing at first but then pounding it past the goalie on the second, making it two to one. Ellani made a few attempts at scoring but couldn't make it past a rejuvenated Moore. A quick pass in near the end made another point, and the Cardinals won three-one, putting Ironicness third in the Commonwealth league. The second game, I'll admit was a bit more intense. Coming up against Lemmingtopias National was a bit frightening, but I will say that this one was a shine for our defense team. Repeated attempts to score were blocked consistently by defenders Rickson and William, 43 and 22 respectively, both out of Spaget. I must say, they're making a name for themselves. The offense was very evenly matched, though, and didn't make many attempts. It ended up with a tie- we're looking forward to seeing that rivalry play out next game. Back at home, Prime Minister Bowron applauded the team in his Monday morning press conference. Responding to a question by iReview reporter Shawn Connri, he said, "I hear our Cardinals are maintaining third ranking down there in Lemuria. Not bad, considering that's the same place I came in my first bid for Prime Minister," he joked to scattered chuckles. "I wish them well back here in Jasperion, and can't wait to meet them all personally again in the Championships." According to sources in the Silver Center, the Prime Minister has been planning a trip down to the Islands for weeks and wants to combine the visit with a CFF game. Politics and playing, quite a duo down there. That's all I have today, Allan, but as a promise for tomorrow I hear Fletcher Leon's staff have been arranging a little visit with SPORTSnet. <Allan Rochester, in-studio> Thanks for the update, Jack. We'll be right back with baseball summaries from today. Don't forget to tune in at 6 every weekday for recaps from the CFF live from Lemurian Islands, as well as at game times, posted on our website sportsnet.tv/cff. I'm Allan Rochester, stay with us. Parna Courier - Sports Many Football fans crowded pubs throughout the country to watch The wraiths play in their first match in the CFF. Their match against FC Los Cojones went well. At the 19th minute, the wraiths very own Pollomo managed to get the first goal of the match, with an assist from Fulleur. The wraiths took this lead into the second half. At the 47th minute, FC Los Cojones managed to tie it up. As the match was nearing the end, Wayne Ballart managed to get the ball and get it Dennis Swark who scored a 56th minute goal to seal the deal. The final score was 2-1 with the wraiths victorious. The next day saw the Wraiths face off against the Royals. A 27th minute goal by O'Neil and a 44th minute goal by Swark brought about a 2-0 victory for the wraiths. Manager Ryan Kalmar was very pleased to see the Wraiths start off undefeated and at the top of Division II, crediting the players as well as coach Davidson's expertise. With such a hot start, Wraith fans are fired up and ready to cheer there team on to further victories. |

CFF NEWS U.S.N.A. Loses Div. I Lead; Draws vs. Ironicness The U.S.N.A. Democrats battled the Ironicness Cardinals to 1-1 draw today after the Democrats took two straight victories against two Atlantean opponents. It was a battle of New Sorvun teams as the Cardinals and the Democrats waged soccer warfare. The Cardinals were hoping to improve their standing in the CFF League; at the time they were running third, behind Ermonte and the U.S.N.A. The Democrats, on the other hand, were looking to improve to a 3-0 record in league play and extending their lead in Division I. The Cardinals drew first blood, which surprised Nova Angleterre's faithful who were not used to opponents scoring on their team. Democrats goalkeeper Eddie Monsoon (GK-Wortham) became visibly irate at his defense, who just let the opposition score, as did team captain fullback James Raynor (FB-Bastion's Keep). The Democrats' offense, however, would not let the score go unanswered. Raynor personally led a charge down into Ironicness territory and shot a pass to attacking midfielder Robert Desmond, who attempted a shot but was deflected by a Cardinal defender. Raynor stole the ball from the Cardinals' offensive surge and passed it to center forward Ed Schultz (CF-Washington), who fired the tying goal in the 50th minute, much to the pleasure of Democrat faithful. But after that, for forty minutes more, neither team managed to pull together a game-winning drive, and because of that, the match ended in a tie. The result somehow cost the U.S.N.A. its sole Division I lead. The draw put the U.S.N.A. in a tie for first with the United States of Europe's Ermonte, who has traded the first-place position with the U.S.N.A. in the first three days of competition. Ironicness, meanwhile, slipped one spot in the Division I rankings, with Atlantis nation Mestra clinching 4-1 win over fellow Atlantis nation Kurosiana. The Mestran Imperials had fought viciously in their two matches. First wining by a single point against 98x and then clenching a resounding 4-1 victory over Kurosiana. The national convention who oversaw the team weren't happy about the initial Division ranking of 6th, but were happy with moving up to 4th. The team continued to practice and with their track record for a strong defense, the Imperials and their fans hoped they would continue their momentum. The team had undergone many changes sense the last public appearance at the IV Atlantis Cup, now set on the world stage, the Mestran team had its sites on the Commonwealth Cup, only time would tell. |

Saikawa Daily [bigSports[/big] Saikawa United took another significant step towards the title with a 0-0 draw at Indie Lovers on Tuesday. Saikawa now have 5 points, eight behind of division leaders Parnaria. Saikawa would feel they were on the wrong end of some controversial decisions by referee Lee Crookey, none more so than in stoppage time when Seiji Maeda fell when clear under a tackle from the opposing teams defender. Crookey decided Maeda had dived and showed the Sainamian striker a yellow card. On another day it might have been a penalty. Indie had an excellent first half but came under severe pressure after the break and did well to hang on to a point which takes them to fourth spot and well clear of the relegation zone. In truth United were never at their most fluent and clinical and Toga Hara , Maeda and in particular Reizo Sasaki all missed chances they might normally have taken. Indie goalkeeper saved well from Maede early in the first half but the best United chance fell to Sasaki in the 69th minute, placing a shot wide when it looked easier to score. |

Ermonte Post: Matchday three say Kahlenberg FC climb to the sumit of the table with a 1-0 victory over Lemmingtopias. Dominic Suarez secured all three points in the 12th minute of the match with a well struck volley from just outside the box. A brilliant chip throughball from Soderburg enabled Suarez to flick the ball left, wrong footing the defender and unleashing a monsterous shot into the top right corner. The ball travlled 56 yards before eventually hitting the ground in the back of the Lemmingtopias net. Suarez had the chance to double his tally for the season late on but couldn't find the target from close range. Two clean sheets in two games for Flores. Final score Kahlenberg FC 1 Lemmingtopias 0. (Suarez 12) (Yellow Card(s): Leiva, Manuel Suarez) Port Fallon Observer: Kahlenberg's title aspirations hit an early bump after a lackluster performance lead to a 2-0 defeat to Democrats. Dominic Suarez could have opened the scoring but dragged his effort wide. Lionel Rinoldi and Chris Mihill both picked up injuries which look to have left both out until at least matchday 8 meaning Conrad Connors and Lauri Sanchez are in line to start matchday 6, with Kahlenberg having matchday 5 off. The result leaves Kahlenberg 4th after 4 games. Final Score Democrats 2 Kahlenberg FC 0. (Yellow Card(s): Mihill, Doherty, Tracey) Edited by Zander, Mar 12 2013, 09:01 PM.

CFF Cup News U.S.N.A. Knocks Off Ermonte; Stunned by 98X The U.S.N.A. had a mixed last couple of days in the Commonwealth Cup. First off, on day four of competition, a battle to secure Division I's lead against leader Ermonte (The United States of Europe). The match took place in Washington, and the Democrats were intent on humbling Kahlenberg FC on their home turf. That's just what they did. After a shock draw against the Ironicness Cardinals (New Sorvun), the U.S.N.A. reverted to their winning ways, with a 2-0 win over the once-leading Kahlenberg FC team. Striker Christopher Hayes (S-Scosglen) and full back captain James Raynor (FB-Bastion's Keep) scored the two goals that sealed Ermonte's fate. With the win, the U.S.N.A. secured a 3-point lead over Ermonte and the surging Atlantis powerhouse Mestra Imperials, and the U.S.N.A. was running high with a record of 3-0-1, an unbeaten record. But day five changed that. The Democrats were away against 98X. Many observers noted that many Democrat players seemed exhausted from four days straight of competition, and it showed. The 98X offense penetrated the Democrats' defense, and goaltender Eddie Monsoon (GK-Wortham) was unable to prevent the only score of the game, as the Democrats were stunned by the visitors 1-0. The setback downed the U.S.N.A. to a tie for first with the surging Mestra Imperials (Atlantis), and the Democrats' record is 3-1-1. Edited by Deckard Christopher, Mar 13 2013, 04:32 AM.

Match Day 5 Castilian Sports news It has been 3 days since our last update in which we have seen a lot of action including our first win and loss causing us to go all other the ladder in division two. While our intial preformance was great in day 3 with win which fans all over Castilis celebrated with joy as we closed in on the leaders and were placed second in the table. The following 2 matchs were met with disappointment as the Gold Eagles were unable to keep their winning streak and dropped back down with a draw and a further loss which has dropped us in 4th in the table. King Charles the main sponser of the team had this to say; "I believe the team has preformed well in past few games and it was a unlucky roll of the dice for us in the last game. But this one loss doesn't mean that we are out of the competition. It means we now have something to prove as it is my goal for the Golden Eagles to finish in top position of division two and show the world that we are cretainitly no push overs in the world of football" |

Saikawa Daily Saikawa United started the day in perfect fashion as it strolled past a resolute Stoke side with a comfortable 3-0 victory. The visitors were able to frustrate their hosts for the majority of the first half but had a little bit of luck to stay level, however that luck ran out in the 43rd minute as Reizo Sasaki opened the scoring after the opposing goalkeeper cleared a low cross into his path. And Izumo Fukazawa doubled the home side’s lead at the start of the second half with a simple tap in after the goalkeeper had failed to deal with Fukazawa’s low shot. The win was secured in the 74th minute as Seiji Maeda fired home a controversial penalty after Denbe Sato had been tripped by an opposing player. The hosts dominated possession throughout the opening half and could have been further ahead than they were at the break after they wasted some excellent opportunities. The main culprit was Seiji Maede who had chances to score before the deadlock was finally broken in the 43rd minute. The Sainamian’s first sight of goal came from a beautiful chipped through ball from Denbe Sato, he controlled the ball well but lashed his shot over the bar much to the relief of the opposing goalkeeper. His other chance of the half came nine minutes later when he met a Sato cross at the front post but his header crashed against the post. The second half began in the same way the first had finished with the hosts on top, but Saikawa didn’t have to wait long before its second goal as Fukazawa applied the finishing touch following an Maede shot. The victory was secured in the 73rd minute as Sato was brought down on the edge of the penalty area, although it looked to be outside the box a penalty was awarded and Maede made no mistake from the spot as he fired under the dive of the Goalkeeper. |

![]() <Allan Rochester, in-studio> We're back on SPORTSnet, and the work going around the street: A tie streak! Yes, this is what our good boys down in the Lemurian Islands in the CFF are going though, somewhat odd. We are joined once again by our Head CFF Correspondent Jack Gambit. <Gambit, in front of CFF stadium> Thanks, Allan. It's a bit of a windy day down here in the Islands, and it's been a windy couple of matches today for the Cardinals. As you said, we've somehow managed to tie three games in a row. Game three was a bit of a toughie, as you know the Democrats have been at the top of the league two games in a row. We got in a very good goal at the beginning, then lost one to USNA's Shultz, and couldn't pull it back together. What a shame- it moved us down to fourth. Then we had a bye on Day Four, leaving us to move down one more under 98x. Just this morning, ANOTHER ravaging tie with Kurosiana, leaving us in fifth under Ermonte and 98x. At this point, our friends in the USNA had moved down to second under Mestra- it's getting pretty upset here down in the Lemurian Islands. Fans were screaming at this last game, and Ironicness' record is now 1-3-0, but still remaining with no losses. Seems our boys would rather go for the draw rather than make that extra kick. Unfortunately, the Cardinals management put out a release today that the players would be in training until 8, which leaves us no time for an player interview on the air. However, we did manage to get a few responses via email from Assistant Manager Trillian Bosgart. When we inquired about the team's two-post fall down the board, Bosgart replied, "It's been a tough few days, no denying. I'm not at all ashamed about losing a place because of the USNA, because they're a very well-thought-out team and our defense was as tight as it could have been. What we're really bummed about is with Kurosiana. We could have tightened up on offense AND defense, but we were just off that day. It's no good. When I talk to you later in the week, we can lay out more in detail." That's it for now. A grim few days for the Cardinals, but things could be looking up. For I-Review SPORTSnet, I'm Jack Gambit. Back to you, Allan. |
