Yup, we have our 2nd Hurricane of the 2007 Atlantic Hurricane Season.....Hurricane Felix! Right now it's passing the ABC Islands. The Weather Channel forecasts further strengthening. Right now it's a Catagory 1 Hurricane with winds up to 75 MPH! Jamaica and the Yukitan may take another harsh pounding as it's taking a much similar path like Dean. |

....What the hell are you looking at me for?

I haven't heard of this one but looks like it might go to category three and become a major hurricane if it follow the path that has been predicted for it.. ouch that's the last thing that area needs right now. |

I guess like BZ and myself who live in S. Florida, we really don't pay attention to hurricanes unless it becomes a threat to florida... |

...still my guitar gently weeps.

I think here, in Louisiana, gets the same feeling, lol. Even so people still decide to ride out the storm. |

Hurricane Felix is now a STRONG Catagory 3 with winds of 125 MPH and it is forecasted to become even stronger. Yeesh.......feels like Dean all over again too. Almost the same exact track except it's a bit further south. Jamaica may be lucky this time! |

Hurricane Felix is now a full blown Catagory 5 with winds up to 165 MPH. It's still days away from any land mass and there really isn't ANYTHING in it's way to weaken it either. (Unless it undergoes an Eyewall Replacement Cycle in which fluctuations in strength are common from.) It's quite common in STRONG Cat 4/5 Hurricanes. |

yeah pretty much that sums is up... if it isn't going to effect us then I really don't pay all that much attention but if a storm does head our way then I am carefully watching it so I know if I have to prepare for it or not depending on strength and where exactly it's heading. |

Hehehe, I was right! Hurricane Felix is undergoing an Eyewall Replacement Cycle. It's eye shrunk down today and it weakened a smigit.....although once it's eye restructures it'll probably restrengthen. Still a VERY powerful Catagory 5 with winds up to 160 MPH. Belize, Mexico and Honduras really need to watch this sucker. |
