When you go out to buy mangas, what do you look for in them?

I usually buy ones that are based on anime I have watched. I also read scanlations online then decide which ones to buy.

I look for manga that moves me. I like manga that has a good storyline.

Since I'm not really a manga otaku and do not know much about manga, I usually just check the Anime News Network's encyclopedia and feature articles for my selection.

Any manga that puts me in suspense would be a good manga. Like, one that has a climactic storyline, of a sort.

What kind of manga do you like? I might have some you would enjoy reading.

A good manga is one with good artwork, a good plot, and one that isn't dragged out so long it hurts.

I usually look for one that has an anime based of it already or might have. Otherwise i look for one with a good storyline.

A good manga in my opinion is something that catches my interest. I love romance but a bit of action, and I love different type things. ^_^ A combo of a few are what I look for.

I'm not a very big reader. I've only started reading manga this year. Right now, I'm finishing Genshiken and Monster. I'm open to any suggestions. I guess my manga tastes are similar to my anime tastes, which is pretty much anything. I really like things that are weird or original, science fiction, and light comedy. Also, anything that makes you think. Just not anything Naruto-like. I like shonen stuff...just not Naruto.

I don't usually go looking for manga. If I read one, it's because it's been recommended to me, or because I'd heard of it elsewhere.

A good manga to me has to do with three things. Plot. Character depth. Awesomeness Factor.

Plot is simple enough. Is the story followable? Is it unique? Interesting? Dramatic?

Character Depth is rather simplistic as well. How far into the persona of the characters does it go? Do you end up understanding the characters? Start feeling attached to them?

Awesomeness Factor is a bit more vague. It is just the feel of the manga that makes you think, "Holy s**t, this is awesome." Such examples may include Alucard at any given point in Hellsing, Ciel fighting Ahika in Tsukihime, or Shinji nearly punching Gendo in the face in NGE. If a series lacks this awesomeness factor, it usually loses me pretty easily.
