I got bored with it after two chapters, so don't feel too bad. XD Never understood what the hype was, because the characters seemed really "blah" to me. I even tried picking up the anime when it started on Cartoon Network, and that's boring too, though at least it's well animated. Also, One Piece. It seems really interesting, but the art is terrible and the story just drags on in typical shonen fashion and I gave up after slogging my way through about 50 chapters. It doesn't help any that all of the characters are extremely unlikeable and very annoying. |

D,: I thought the Naruto manga was -is- much better than the anime. One of the best manga I've read till now. Death Note was pretty cool until about the 55th chapter or thereabouts, when a very important event happened (I won't spoil it for those who haven't read till that part, but people who have read it wil know). After that, with the Near and Mello and random plot twists ad nauseum, the manga really went to the dumps. In this respect, at least, I think the movie did better.
Ditto. I really wanted to like it, but Luffy was just too annoying for me. Another manga I was very annoyed with was Claymore. I watched some of the anime, and loved it, so I decided to pick up the manga, but really, the way the artist illustrates people leaves a lot to be desired. They all look somewhat similar with round-ish faces. |

Tokyo Mew Mew (can't believe I read some of it actually!) I agree with Tommy though, I never liked Death Note. Only now have I taken a slight liking to it because the characters are cool, but the story, plot, and so-called "intelligence" of it sucks. Particularly that "intelligence" bit, I know there aren't that many smart mangas/animes out there, but Death Note has so many little flaws that it really drives me crazy. I mean L and Light are the only "smart" characters in the series and they only appear "smart" because all the other characters are stupid and say that L and Light are "smart." I really enjoy L and Light's slight insanity though and how much personality they have (most anime/manga characters have kinda shallow personalities, which leave the characters vulnerable for crappy fanfics. However, Death Note's characters have set personalities that make it impossible for fanfic writers to place them in certain situations). I have got to learn when to shut up. |

I've been a tad disappointed with Bleach the last few chapters. It was in a bad slump before the captains came, but then after the initial cool factor, it went right back into the slump-- the Byakuya fight was cool, the Mayuri fight not too bad, but the Zaraki fight was just plain boring. I mean, come on. One side goes "Hahaha you think you can beat me you f***er fuckity f**k f**k" and then the other side goes "lololololo fuckity f**k f**k dumbass f***er" and slashes at the other side, and then repeats itself again and again until, inevitably, the Espada dies. We know the Espada is going to die anyway, mind making it cool while it lasts?? And then this farce finally ends, I think "Gawd, finally there's going to be something interesting" and what happens? Aizen contacts everyone and tells them his entire plan and how smart he is and all that like some villain in an action B-movie. Well, whatever, Aizen-sama. I wouldn't say that I hate the manga per se, it definitely fits the bill of "had potential but bombed". I'll still be reading, but I don't think Bleach will ever occupy that special place in my regard again. |

Totally agreed... Bleach has dropped down from my favorite manga list.
