Just a little rambling about something that I find strange... TokyoPop released ACQUA part 1 a month ago, with its second and final part to be released next February... Thing is, ARIA, which is the sequel to ACQUA, had its release last January 8th, being that I even already bought it. And in its initial page (I only read that page for now) it even makes a recap for those who "have not read ACQUA yet".... Well??? How come I could have read ACQUA if its final issue will be released in February 2008?! Now I have ARIA awaiting here, until I get ACQUA final issue... Ok, ARIA could be read without ACQUA, as the anime itself starts with ARIA, with only references and memory shots from what is covered in ACQUA, but if you are releasing the first book, why not finish it before starting the main series? That does not make much sense to me, but anyway... And a note to ARIA issue 1 cover: It is simply gourgeous! A real piece of art, in pair with the lovely anime, which is another piece of art. |

Two different translation teams working simultaneously? I don't know. That's my only answer at the moment, lol. |

That's about the best guess I have as well. I don't understand 3/4 of the time why they screw up the translation times of arrival anyways. |

Maybe that is what could have happened, but not on this case. ACQUA is actually a re-release, as VIZ was the original publisher, and both issues of ACQUA were released a long time ago by them, being now reissued by Tokyopop which bought its rights and ARIA as well. So it is not a matter of translation. They had ACQUA long before ARIA... |

Actually, it was released by ADV, and they only released 3 volumes of Aria (not Aqua). And Aqua isn't so much as a prequel. The name just changed from Aqua to Aria when the manga switched magazines in Japan. And why do ya'll spell it Acqua? It's clearly Aqua on the manga cover. Is that like a "direct Japanese translation" or something? |
