I wanted to make a playstand for my cockatiel and parakeet because the ones at the pet store were really expensive. Here is how I made one for really cheap. First I found a couple of bird safe branches and cleaned them with a watered down bleach solution. I then put the branches in the oven at 275 degrees for an hour or so. Next I bought one of those vinyl coated boards for the base so I could wipe the droppings off of it. Then I ran a screw thru the bottom of the board into the branch to hold it upright. Here is a picture of the one that I made:

Good job.. They do charge way too much for 'store-bought' playstands. I made one years ago that was just a large branch (with smaller branches) stuck in a big pot of dirt. They really enjoyed playing around on that.

I bought a "playground" and Sky only used it to wait when I was putting her cage together on day one. I tried it on several other occasions and she acts like it is a "waiting" place. Now my desk is her playground. And she has her own remote control to chew on, mouse pad, as well as my favorite pens with rubber grips.
