From over 1,000 earthquakes a year, and recently a swarm of several dozen in a small area over a short time.... Yellowstone has gone quiet. ![]() http://www.seis.utah.edu/req2webdir/recenteqs/Maps/Yellowstone.html Edited by DrLeftover, Feb 1 2015, 10:12 PM.

*scratches head in thought* Wasn't Yellowstone the location of that supposed supervolcano of millennia past? |

"Supposed"? That's an odd word for it. Every few hundred thousand years the 'hotspot' over a deep magma plume 'cooks off'. You can see the trail up the Snake River where entire sections of mountain ranges have simply vanished in an old trail that leads from near the Pacific coast toward the park, including the Craters of the Moon in Idaho. I did a lot of research into it for the story where I put "no National Parks were destroyed in the writing of this story" in the introduction.
