Thoughts? If someone were to open an encyclopedia and look up the phrase 'evil genius', Carleton Gajdusek's name/picture are on a short list there; as much as one wants to tout the man's medical accomplishments - as Richard Rhodes puts it in Deadly Feasts, 'all roads in rare CNS illnesses eventually lead to Gajdusek'....one can't forget that the man was also an unrepentent pedophile. |
