(Reddit) What Book Got You Back Into Reading?
Quote:

I know I'm not alone when I say that reading took a backseat for a long time to the rest of my life. I was an English major in college which didn't help, since reading 2-3 books a week burned me out on the hobby for awhile. Now I'm trying to get back into it, but I'm finding that books just don't have the same hold on me anymore. It used to be that I would spend hours and hours reading (I even got in trouble for it in elementary school since I was too busy reading under my desk to do math). Now it seems like reading is a chore.

I think for me, it's because books just aren't as surprising anymore. They all follow an established set of writing "rules" and plot lines. Books were unpredictable when I was a child, and now I feel like I can see where they're going from the start. This might be a problem on my end with my book selection though. I recently read "Gone with the Wind," which was the first book in years that I was excited to read every day, so I feel myself climbing back up.

SO. What about you guys? Did you drop out of reading for awhile? If so, what sparked your interest again? (Reddit user galaxydrift)

I never "got out" of reading, so I never had to "get back into" it.

*scratches head in thought* ...neither did I, for that matter... :devil1:
