I don't think there was one book, besides the Bible of course, that motivated me like that. I wasn't a 'horrible student' in high school, but I was as mediocre as you could get. I had a solid "C" average from junior high school through college. In my graduating class from college, my GPA was just about in the middle of the class. It wasn't until I was out of college that I realized that I had been through 16 years of the education system, and had never heard of the majority of more interesting topics on 'Jeopardy'. Something I have since rectified. PS: I won't try out for the show because they always have a category or two about "pop culture" and "celebrities" and I honestly don't give two hoots in a hurricane about those. |
