I've read the Dark Tower series, and was so impressed that I decided to buy into the hype and read something else by King.

I picked up The Stand and found it to be a good read, but not anything beyond that. The story was wonderfully told, yet I failed to really identify with any of the characters except for Nick Andros (who embodied only a small fraction of the story).

Have any other King fans liked any of his other books more? Which ones have characters you really loved? (Reddit user btiz)
