The Phedan
Physical Info :

Originating from the beautiful tropical planet of Kamarr, the Phedan are a very aggressive race. These beings are presumed to be evolved from a hybrid of a reptile and a horse, the scale like bones pointing towards the reptile theory more. Standing at an average of 180 centimeters, Phedan are physically characterized by their bold predatory body builds. They are very quick and agile with exceptional reflexes and a wiry strength in their long, thin, limbs. Running down the back of a Phedan head and is a layer of long quills with a soft down feather undercoat, the same quills can be found on their upper forearms, and a stripe of soft feathers run upwards from their pubic region. Their skin comes in limitless shades and patterns, making them easily identifiable from each other visually. Phedan are capable of living in extreme environments and weather conditions without the presence of a “ideal” or comfort zone. They can survive and remain operational in environments from -5 to 50 degrees Celsius. They're known life span is about ninety years on average.

Phedan are known to be one of the hardiest races of the Verona system, having a reputation of being extremely durable and flexible both physically and in terms of environments. They are capable of eating nearly any organic substance and because of this, do not require large amounts of external nutrition. Their circulatory system consists of two hears rather than one, should one heart give out, the other can still operate, extra nutrition is required if such circumstances are at present. They have four long pointed ears in addition to pair of vestigial ears that are hollow and without openings.

Phedan heads are protected by extremely resilient bone coverings, they offer additional protection to their brains in addition to their already strong bone structure. This crest, along with additional bone plates all over the body are the most durable parts of a Phedan body. A Phedab's powerful grip is even further reinforced by their dual opposable thumbs, a trait shared by the Tsudayins, unlike Tsudayins however, Phedan fingers end in razor sharp talons. The largest of these claws is located on the big toe which is capable of moving independently of the others, and is back by strong muscles and tendons. Phedan are able to quickly flex this toe in wide arcs causing it to be formidable even if the rest of the leg is hurt.

When try to tell a male and female Phedan from one another, take into mid that they have generally the same anatomy with the exception of reproductive organs. Many of their traits borrow heavily from mammals including reproduction and females having breasts for nurturing infants. Male Phedan are usually larger, but both share the same sinewy muscle mass.

Behavior :

Phedan are very intelligent and cunning with attitudes that could be described as aggressive but polite. Although not necessarily in negative ways, Phedan often display aggressive attitudes rather than passive. They are very persistent and follow their goals to the end, however, their common but clashing traits of aggressiveness and patience often give rise to internal conflicts within themselves. They often take the easiest ways of completing a task, but would spend the time to do something right if they could see the benefits of it. They are very ambivalent about learning and only spend time to discover new knowledge if they can see an immediate benefit to their interests. Phedan are known to have fast paced lifestyles and can have difficulty seeing into the future. While not down right antagonistic, Phedan often enjoy roguish be havior. A Phedan's libido is above average with sexuality having minor social functions, it is mostly thought of casually but some instances could be used as a power symbol in high social castes.

The Tsudayins
Physical Info :

Hailing from the extremely windy and frigid world of Dageron are the tall and sinewy race of the Tsudayins, standing at 213 centimeters on average as of of the tallest races in the Xarelto Empire. They posses a wry amount of strength and are alarmingly agile for a race of their size. Long White manes adorn the back of their lanky necks, growing out to about the middle of their back. A single tail hangs off their backside, thin and mostly used to assist in keeping their balance. A Tsudayins taut and leathery skin ranges from deep crimson to a dusky rose hue, specialized to regulate and insulate their bodies from the harsh elements. Although they can withstand warmer temperatures than they would normally encounter on their home world. Tsudayins are most comfortable in temperatures ranging from -2 to 10 degrees Celsius. They have a pretty decently long life span of 120 years standard.

Instead of having the more common ears for hearing. Tsudayins pick up sound through the four horns on the sides of their heads. Hollow and spaced with various sensitive sinus cavities, their horns can detect vibrations and changes in the air pressure like more traditional auditory systems. Additional outstanding anatomy worthy of note is their method of smelling, which differs from most traditional sentient species. Two sent organs begin at the base of the neck and run down to the upper chest. Although Tsudayins have nostrils, they use them for basic breathing, while these sent organs are what pick up carious scents. Out of all their senses, a Tsudayins sense of touch and sight are somewhat lacking. While similar races fingers and toes end in nails or claws, a Tsudayins long phalanges end in hardened cartilage, no nails present. They possess two opposable thumbs on each hand, as well as being the only known Verona System race to have an opposable toe on each foot. This digit is more vestigial than anything, but could still support a Tsudayin at a healthy weight hanging upside down.

The difference in physiology between male and female Tsudayins is not prevalent as other Verona System races. Aside from different productive organs, males have a large durable plate on their foreheads, used in their ancient past to headbutt other males as a sort of mating display for females. There is also a slight difference in overall since and muscle tone with females being smaller and less built than males, additionally, females are a lighter shade of red. While not being mammals, Tsudayin females give birth to an average of one infant after a gestation period of 0.8 standard years. Tsudayin partners most commonly choose companions of the opposite gender for life, but are physically attracted to either gender.

Behavior :

By nature, Tsudayins are often very serious and take their duties with a sense of responsibility. Typical Tsudayins are stubborn and are prone to anger. They are capable of feeling the full spectrum of emotions and are more than capable of complex abstract though. Though Tsudayins prefer to keep their minds grounded or on tasks at hand, seldom wondering about unknowns. Tsudayin sexuality has little social function and primarily ensues biological reproduction, their libido is generally low in an overall comparison to most other races. Motivation is usually because of outside stimuli; the average Tsudayin has little inner drive ot aspirations. However, certain Tsudayins are the complete opposite in psychology. These Special Tsudayins often have an affinity for leading other, pay more attention to inward thinking, have higher libidos, and are far more prone to internal emotional conflict.

The Kheroda
Physical Info :

The Kheroda originate from the turbulent and rainy world of Vagra, having athletic and limber builds, Kheroda come to an average height of 205 centimeters. Although they have compact and strong muscles, most of this is to support the durable pale carapace plating that covers a Kherodas body. Completely devoid of any hair. Kheroda have softer and less durable skin around their joints, lower abdomens, and the front of their neck. Instead of toes, a Kherodas feet end in hooves which are durable and sited for the colder, rockier regions of Vagra. Kheroda are easily irritated by humidity or warmer weather, without well developed means of ridding themselves of excessive heat. Living in the dry and chilly regions of Vagra, Kheroda are comfortable in the temperature ranges of 10 to 22 degrees Celsius. They are known to have a life span of 110 standard years.

Like a Tsudayin, a Kheroda does not have the common ears most traditional races have. They instead pick up sound through two horns growing from the back of their heads. Hollow and spaces with various sensitive sinus cavities, these horns can detect vibrations and changes in air pressure like more traditional auditory systems. As with other life on Vagra, Kheroda have six nostrils, three on each side of their neck which are used both to breathe and smell. With hard plates covering most of their bodies, a Kherodas sense of touch is considered weak, with stimuli having to press hard enough on a plate to reach the nerves. Vestigial spurs grow outwardly from the upper back of a Kheroda, unknown in function but thought to have been failed anchor point for additional limbs back in their evolutionary history. A Kherodas eyes are one of their most sensitive and receptive parts. With an odd reversal from more traditional eyes, a Kheroda has a dark pigmented sclera, and protective but translucent white cover over the pupil. This gives a Kheroda the appearance of inverted eyes. The white cover acts as a focusing lens of sorts, giving the Kheroda great vision for distances, but relatively poor vision up close.

Differences in physiology between male and female are generally minor, both are commonly of equal stature and build, but have different respective reproduction organs. Females are usually colorless while a males body takes a slightly lavender hue, the color being more prominent on the plates than the skin. Males also have large, prominent curving horns that grow on the sides of their heads. These horns sever little function at present, but were much larger and widely used in the past as goring weapons. Kheroda Females giver birth to an average of one infant after a gestation period of one standard year. Kheroda infants are born with miniature and underdeveloped plates, allowing for easier labor for the adult females. The plates of a Kheroda begin to grow a year after bring and finally cover the body after nine years later.

Behavior :

The Kheroda mind is a stubborn one. They are prone to not listening to others opinions, sticking their own viewpoint above all else. Though they can be swayed to different viewpoints, it takes a considerable amount of persuasion even if proven wrong. There is also a fair amount of mystery involving the structure of their brains. Anatomically, it appears almost as if there is a more newer portion located around the older, dated brain structure. This suggests that Kheroda are actually the oldest known sentient species in the Verona System, but had experienced some sort of evolutionary setback that forced them to “Re-evolve” mentally. Kheroda are often subject to what appears to be brain blocks regarding higher science or theories where they are simply unable to comprehend the theories, almost like a mental barrier. Kheroda sexuality has large social function, with marriages often portraying various power and political structures. A Kherodas libido is average in comparison to other races.

The Kuma
Physical Info :

Originating from the beautiful and mountainous planet of Valeria are the inquisitive Kuma race. Standing on an average height of 150 centimeters, the Kuma are the smallest known sentient race of the Verona System. They are considered weak, but fairly nimble for a species of their tiny stature. A Kumas body is covered entirely in fur, which ranges from gray to a lighter shade of tan. Their fur serves to insulate and retain their body heat among the tallest mountains that make up a majority of Kuma habitats, where air is thin and temperatures are low. Being most comfortable in environments with low air pressure and lower gravity, Kuma are capable of contently living within the temperature ranges of 8 to 25 degrees Celsius. They have a life span of approximately 50 years.

Kuma are a nocturnal species, living most of their lives during the night cycles of Valeria. Their eyes are specially adapted to low light areas where they are able to see far better in the darkness than most other races. They have fewer cones in there eyes however, so as a result are unable to see colors as vibrantly. Developing is areas with low oxygen, Kuma can seem lethargic, and have poor olfactory senses. The winds that blow in the mountains of Valeria where the Kuma live are strong, and as a result most Kuma keep their eyes shut when outdoors. It is a trait they carry with them from birth, and unless indoors, can usually be found squinting in the face of powerful gales. If brought off world, Kuma usually keep their squinting habits, usually due to bright lights they are unaccustomed to. The colorful scales that cover the bridge of a Kumas nose serve very little functional purpose. While not downright brittle, they are unsuited for protection and are thought mostly to provide further differentiating features from individual to individual. Other popular theories suggest that the scales are a mutation that ended up being a dominant trait and winning out during evolution, as the scales are only present on a single part of the Kumas body. The large ears of a Kuma are specifically adapted to detect changes in the constant whistling of wind and are particularly sensitive. Kuma are often uneasy in environments that are silent or with a steady noise present.

Male and female Kuma share all of the same anatomical features, save for different reproductive organs. Female Kuma however are often built larger than males, and are significantly stronger due to this. Aside from this difference, male and female Kuma are essentially the same. Kuma females usually bare twins after a 0.3 year gestation period. Kuma babies are born with a covering of temporary fur which sheds during puberty and is replaced by a thicker permanent coat.

Behavior :

In general, most Kuma tend to be very inquisitive, honest, and blunt. Extremely vocal, Kuma have a habit of speaking before thinking, a trait that often causes conflict between Kuma but even more so with races that are usually more prone to anger. They are extremely social creatures often choosing to live very closely with one another; Kuma towns and cities are essentially connected, each being located in close proximity to another. Though not antagonistic, Kuma can be overzealous sometimes regarding tasks at hand. Their lethargy often gives them bursts of productivity but then leaves a Kuma with a period of exhaustion. Some Kuma are able to cope with this disability better than others and at time, their most productive cycles to accomplish some of their more lofty life goals. Although the average libido of a Kuma is relatively low, their sexuality has a large amount of social function. Marriages are usually arranged affairs, seen as a truce of sorts between two families.

The Kherodi
Physical Info :

The newest species on the planet of Vagra is the Kherodi, a mutation of the Kheroda species with an origin of history shrouded in mystery. Although they are technically a related mutation, they are capable of reproducing and are classified as a separate race. Colored an off-white, Kherodi are built strong and come to a height of 192 centimeters. Unlike their Kheroda cousins. Kherodi have soft skin covering most of their bodies, without any durable plates present. A white mane grows from the back of a Kherodi's neck , often with streaks of orange in the layers. As with Kheroda, Kherodi feet end it in hardened hoovers, more suited for rocky terrain than the muddy warm regions of Vagra. Unlike the other two races living on Vagra, Kherodi are less sensitive to temperature and climate change, temperatures ranging from 5 to 35 degrees Celsius are considered livable conditions. Kherodi have a known life space of 90 standard years.

Most noteworthy of a Kherodi's physical anatomy is the unique fact that they are simultaneous hermaphrodites, this is to say that they are considered both male and female due to have both sets of reproductive organs. Although only having faint physical reminders of their Kherodi cousins, Kherodi inherit the color of Kheroda females and the horns of Kheroda males. Their body shape is, for the most part, considered to have more female qualities compared to most other Verona System races. Without plates covering most of their bodies like Kheroda, Kherodi are quite receptive to touch in comparison. Similarly with the Kheroda, Kherodi also hear using the horns growing outward from the back of their heads, which pick up sound like more traditional ears using a series of sinuses to detect changes in air pressure and vibrations. Vestigial spurs grow from their upper backs as with the Kheroda, however, a Kherodi's spurs have a layer of soft light fur growing out from under them, usually in an orange or purple color. As most life on Vagra is without any sort of hair, including the two other sentient species, it is unknown as to where the Kherodi's hair may have come from during their original mutation.

Kherodi also share the same inverted eyes as their Kheroda cousins, but are able to see at close distances significantly better. Although they are of equal physical strength and posses sharper senses than the Kheroda, Kherodi have irregularly weakened immune systems, leaving them naturally more susceptible to illness and infection.

Although Kherodi are Hermaphrodites, they are incapable of self fertilization; requiring another partner for mating, Kherodi do not take individual roles as male and female. Instead. It is common for Kherodi to take turns and male and female roles, neither partner retaining a dominant role in the domestic relationship. This often leaves both partners of a union pregnant, with the off spring of being raised by both the parents that give birth to them as well as that parents partner. Kherodi give birth to infants after a 0.4 year gestation period. Kherodi babies, with their races already compromised immune system, require very special care and attention to survive infancy.

Behavior :

Kherodi, apart from the puzzling Maralyn race, are the smartest known species of the Verona System. Possessing genius minds from birth, they are curious and eager to solve puzzles and discover knew knowledge. Unfortunately due to their relationship status with most Kheroda, who promote and regularly carry out genocide actions towards Kherodi, they tend to have extremely shy or alienated personalities towards anything other than other Kherodi. While it is a learned and not natural behavior, Kherodi are characterized as being easily frightened, skittish, and occasionally self-loathing. Many Kherodi struggle with the fact that. As mutants of the Kheroda race, they do not have any particular customs or heritage of their own. Kherodi sexuality has moderate social function, with partners often being bound by law to one another. A Kherodi's libido is average in comparison to other races, despite the torrid rumors that often surround their special combined genders.

The Pakan
Physical Info :

Residing on the rain soaked planet of Vagra, the Pakan are one of three races said to have originated there. In having an irregular stance from more common sentient races, a Pakan stands at 115 centimeters tall on average, but are just as wide. The Pakan walk on what most would consider arms and use smaller, but more dexterous legs and toes and hands and fingers. Having an awkward gait, most Pakan are fairly slow, only capable of moving quickly if the path is unobstructed. Their large heads host an abnormally shaped brain with several tails growing off the sides, with the largest tail at the back of the head. These head tails contain scent glands Pakan use to mark territory or to leave scent messages for other Pakan. As a camouflage of sorts, their durable skin is a muddy olive green or a brown color. Pakan inhabit the warmer and more humid regions of Vagra and thrive between the temperatures of 22 to 40 degrees Celsius, and live to about 70 standard years on average.

While Pakan have nostrils on the ends of their snouts, these are used primarily for olfactory purposes. Like most life on Vagra, a Pakan breathes through six nostrils located on their lower necks. Their upper bodies are incredibly muscular in proportion to the rest of the Pakan body, in order to support their atypical legs. For a race of their size, their strength can be easily underestimated; Pakan are much stronger than races vertically larger than themselves due to extremely dense muscle tissue. While their legs and torso maybe the strongest parts of their bodies, their arms are extremely weak in comparison; they are best used for manipulating objects rather than strenuous activity. Pakan are Omnivorous creatures, bust mostly rely on an herbivore's diet. Until they had developed and learned to use traps in their early history, Pakan were to slow to catch other wildlife on Vagra and settled for making due with the easily obtainable flora. Because of this, a Pakan's jaw muscles and bite are fairly weak. With a need for grinding plants down to paste, a Pakan's teeth are large but dull and flat.

Male and female Pakan are identical with the exception of females usually being large than males, and the obvious difference in reproductive organs. Pakan have no trouble distinguishing male from female with the different scents given off by their respective head tails. The Pakan are one of few select races in Telaran who do not give birth, instead lay seven eggs on average per clutch. A male then fertilizes the eggs and two parents will often take turns guarding the nest from harm. After an average of 0.4 years the eggs hatch into infants.

Behavior :

Although being fairly intelligent on forward thinking, Pakan as a whole are notoriously selfish and willing to do nearly anything for self gain. They are capable of feeling all emotions, but jealousy and anger much more powerful in the Pakan mind than what would commonly be considered positive emotions, joy or love. Because of this, Pakan often enjoy activities that most would consider to be destructive or detrimental to overall society, and they find pleasure in lying, cheating, and fighting. Pakan sexuality has little to do with society and is mainly for reproductive purposes. This is thought to be the reason Pakan females lay large amounts of eggs, Pakan rarely mate, their libido is considered very low because of this. Females, being large and more physically powerful than males, often retain more dominant roles in society.

The Dmargo
Physical Info :

Dmargo are the native sentient species belonging to the world of Ceylon. At an average height of 182 centimeters, Dmargo are quick and have strong lower bodies. They are one of the most agile and dexterous Non human races, having an extensive control over even the smallest of muscles in their bodies. Although they are classified as mammals, the only hair to be found on a Dmargo are along the eye brows and hair that grows on to of their heads, running down the length of their necks. Aside from that, the skin of a Dmargo is very smooth, spanning a broad range of fleshy colors, though usually darker in tone. They have thin tails, although they are mainly vestigial and not used for much other than balance or grasping. As they evolved on fair tempered Ceylon, a Dmargo is most comfortable between the temperatures of 10 to 25 degrees Celsius and are uncomfortable in temperatures hotter than their normal. They are known to live an average of 100 years.

The delicate and narrow snout of a Dmargo houses a very sophisticated olfactory system, a trait common with most species of the Verona system. In general a Dmargo's senses are much more refined than the average race, with an above average portion of their brains dedicated to the senses. Their large eyes are very well developed and are able to see very clearly at extreme distances. While at first their ears may seem as though they are meant for exceptional hearing, this is not necessarily the case. A Dmargo's natural metabolism is hyper active and generates a large amount of internal body heat, in order to counter this, the ears act as large radiators, venting the heat away from the brain. Because of the network of capillaries in their ears, they often flush a red hue when a Dmargo is overheating, exhausted, embarrassed, or aroused. Of all their senses, the Dmargo's sense of hearing is actually the weakest, but is by no means lacking. Another side effect of their boosted metabolism is the need for more energy than what would be considered standard for a race of their sized. Because of this, Dmargo often eat multiple small means throughout a day. Like a Tsudayin, the tips of a Dmargo's fingers and toes end in small, sharp protrusions of hardened cartilage.

Male and female Dmargo have subtle differences between them. While both genders share nearly identical body build structures, male Dmargo have typically sharper features and slimmer hips. A female Dmargo has larger eyes, breasts for nurturing their young, and softer features. Both genders have typical reproductive mammal organs. Female Dmargo give birth to an average of one infant after a gestation period of 0.5 standard years. Male and female Dmargo may have multiple families between partners; although many Dmargo choose a partner for life later on in life, multiple partner families are also common. In comparison to other species, Dmargo have significantly more nerves throughout their bodies, reproductive organs included. Males and females alike both produce powerful natural aphrodisiacs when mating, often making them sought after partners for inter-species relations.

Behavior :

Typical Dmargo are peaceful and have a strong desire to avoid conflict of any sort, external or internal. They are outgoing, friendly, and are often expressive while exuding a calm nature. Many Dmargo can come across as overly optimistic and naive, which can often lead them to be easily tricked by others with ill intent. Dmargo are not immune to more negative emotions, such as greed or jealousy, and are still effected by them and are occasionally driven to crime because of it. Though this is a rare occurrence in comparison to other Verona System races. As a whole, they enjoy learning and discovering new ideas or concepts, ad have a tendency to strive for what could be considered self actualization. The Dmargo mind is often set in a permanently insatiable hunger for knowledge and a respect for long term thinking and planning. Dmargo libido is often regarded as the highest among the non humans species and as such, Dmargo sexuality is very open and thought of very casually. Though males and females are physically attracted to one another, it is not uncommon to see a same gender relationship develop, with one Dmargo attracted to anothers personality rather than a physical attraction.

The Maralyn
Physical Info :

Very little is known about the enigmatic Maralyn race, thought to have originated from the molten world of Teraxis. Ranking in as a very large sentient race discovered in the Verona System, the Maralyn stands at an average height of a whooping 365 centimeters, while being about as wide as they are tall. Their tough external carapace is incredibly resilient to harm, coloring almost the entire body in a dull gray, sometimes black. Aside from the burning orange eyes, the only color to be found on a Maralyn's body is a crimson red spherical shell located inside the ribcage. While there is no known range of temperature for a Maralyn, they are known to exist on a planet that commonly reaches temperatures of 300 degrees Celsius and above. A Maralyn is known to live 200 years before expiring.

The Maralyn are a race that counts their lifespan not in years, but in life times. A unique trait only seen amongst Maralyn exclusively in all of known Orlon s their ability to live on after death. This is done through the use of an embryo located inside the red shell of a Maralyn's torso. As the current living body of a Maralyn ages and learns, the embryo carried with them since birth is neurologically linked with the parents central nervous system, and learns with the current body. When the current body dies, the embryo then hatches and having all of the old bodies memories and consciousness, is effectively reborn as the same Maralyn. Until the new Maralyn embryo comes to term, it does not pick up anything learned by the parent body as their CNS is not yet linked.

Maralyn have been shown to have machine precision in their coordination but are overall extremely slow moving. They are the only known sentient race known to use elements other than oxygen for cellular respiration, and can only survive in high pressure environments. The gravity of their home world is far more powerful than the rest of the Verona System planets, which actually makes Maralyn seem impossibly strong and fast for a race of there massive size when off world. A special third eye located in a Maralyn's forehead serves to give them an infrared overlay over their standard eyesight, when this eye is open, Maralyn senses are thought to be strangely underdeveloped, having sub-par senses of taste, touch, sight, smell, and hearing. Possible reason for this is that the usual portions of the brain are used for sensory information is has been diverted to more cognitive functions.

The Maralyn are a mono-gendered species and thus do not have male or female body types, all Maralyn share an identical build. Maralyn are devastatingly incapable of reproducing by natural means, only having the most faint vestigial traces of reproductive organs. In exceedingly rare occurrences, a Maralyn may form two separate embryos and upon that life's end, will give birth to a biological clone of itself as well as a new body. This is the only known way Maralyn are able to naturally increase their population size.

Behavior :

Maralyn are the most intelligent species known to the Verona system by a significant measure. Aside from snowballing multiple lifetimes worth of knowledge in one mind, a Maralyn has an unrivaled amount of focus and determination, and are innately born with an understanding of higher sciences. Other than these signs of extreme intellect, the Maralyn mind in an enigma in terms of function. It is unknown if they have emotions of any sort and the thought process do not follow any form of known logic. They are utterly unpredictable in every sense, having no clear motivations or reasoning behind their actions. Maralyn do not hint in the slightest of having a moral sense, showing no remorse in what seems to be randomly destructive behavior. Overall, it would be accurate to say that Maralyn minds operate on a completely different wavelength from the standard. Because of their severe difference to known sentient life in Verona, it is speculated if they are even naturally from the same galaxy. This, in tandem with their basic origin being completely unknown, makes for a popular theory.
