[PS3/360] Armored Core V General Thread; Developed by From Software

I plan to do so on PS3 and I was hoping we can get some sort of group going for the game's online mode before it comes out. Despite the terrible base framerate in the demo, I still really enjoyed what I played of it. It's a shame though that From Software has succumbed to pressures of its publisher, Namco Bandai, to release exclusive preorder parts for Gamestop. They're trying to make the pace a hybrid of the original games & 4 + FA. The compromise is actually pretty interesting to me, but of course, mileage may vary per user.

Nexts were odd enough and now they turned into Chrome Cores... I like slim, sleek ACs. not hunky chunky with a whole lot o' funky... AC: AA had the coolest cover AC.. I never did get to build him / :,

(punintended) But the new Doomsday trailer is sweet. Also I'm actually feeling the song. Just hope there is less of it in the actual game other than the actual song used for the trailer. I love AC soundtracks... so good.

V (five) is shaping up to be a solid title, but For Answer left me with such a emotional scar.....I don't know if it's because I suck at games or something but I failed at that game! I love the graphics of V tho. This title is much more visually appealing to me than 4 or For Answer, probably due to the scale of the mechs and the overall perspective..

In general the stages are longer than traditional for AC, but the game is still pretty short (can be cleared in under a day). -No branching routes/endings. -Story has no closure, ends with a to be continued. -80 order missions, but the vast majority are stuff like "kill a bunch of weak enemies" which can be cleared in 2-3 minutes. -Rock-paper-scissors system is stupid. -Tanks are now useless. -The emphasis on online, even when you want to play solo, is fucking stupid (you have to log in to get access to ** that otherwise isn't available at all in single player) -Painting is improved a lot. -WALL KICKINGS IS AWESOMEFANTASTICS =/ Edited by Arawn of Annuvin**, Feb 17 2012, 11:36 PM.

It barely even existed with For Answer. Which in itself was a huge disappointment once you realize all the stuff that was never completed for it and left out. It doesn't help that getting the full gamerscore/Platinum trophy for it was impossible.... EDIT: ALso the one issue at least from the visual stand point is that I highly dislike the fat AC's. Back in 4 and For Answer, I essentially had a mini Over-Flag armed only with 2 moonlights which murdered everything. And if it was an Arms Fort, the Revolving Stake (Kiku blade?) would pretty much one shot everything in existence aside from Spirit of Motherwill. Edited by Arawn of Annuvin, Feb 18 2012, 02:10 AM.

I just don't have it in me to skip out on an Armored Core game haha.
