I know they have have a similar playstyle in that they both have at least 3 modes: one for long range, one for mid, one for melee. I'm just curious what exactly it has over (or worse) than Strike, especially since it's a 2500 unit over Strike's 2000. If I remember correctly Impulse doesn't have a machine gun for its subweapon but I'm not sure what his own subweapon(s) do. Can someone explain? Thanks. |

- They have slightly different armaments during each mode compared with Strike (especially during Force and Blast). - Being 2500 give Impulse slightly superior performance in damage and Boost amount. - Strike mode interchange can be done either from AC button (4, 6, or Neutral depending on the mode and 2 for IWSP) or from melee origination (which will continue into melee set), while Impulse mode interchange can only be done from AC button (4, 6, or Neutral depending on the mode). But it has 2AC or 8AC variation depending on the mode you are currently in which let you change pack while shooting or attacking immediately (which Strike only has as melee origination). For example : Force Impulse A : Beam Rifle CSa : Reflection Shot (Shooting Beam Rifle using shield as reflection) AB : Beam Rifle Shot while separating AC : Silhouette Change (4/left or 6/right depending on mode you want to change into) 2AC : Silhouette Change into Blast Impulse while shooting Kerberos (Blast main weapon) Blast Impulse A : Kerberos CSa : kerberos (Gerobi) B : Missile Launcher 2B : Beam Javelin Throw AB : Railgun BC : Missile Launcher Barrage AC : Silhouette Change (4/left or 6/right depending on mode you want to change into) 8AC : Silhouette Change into Sword Impulse while thrusting with Excalibur Sword Impulse A : Beam Boomerang AB : Beam Rifle 3 Shots AC : Silhouette Change (4/left or 6/right depending on mode you want to change into) 2AC : Silhouette Change into Blast Impulse while shooting Kerberos (Blast main weapon) |

I think the biggest difference is that impulse's mode change is noticeably faster than Strike's. You can actually swap in mid combat and not look like an idiot. |

@roxas You should probably read again my post carefully. What brett mentioned is faster time for changing pack using normal AC (which is noticeably faster than Strike). And to boot with, Impulse can do Change Pack+Instant Fire/Melee while Strike have to originate from melee as an alternative (which is not viable in most situations). I think what Impulse lacks is the Form equal to IWSP or otherwise Burst Damage. Strike although in many ways does not excel, he still got burst damage out in IWSP mode. Impulse however don't have it which only keeps a overall low attack(2500-wise) output all the time. |
