Dennis - excellent review. You've captured the point of the article spot-on and recognized that the author truly wants corporations to take a long term approach. What do you think about creating societal value in those emerging economies where the value may not be immediatly recognized for a long time, but will most likely add value? For example, projects which represent CSV such as those in the most rural parts of China and India could pay huge dividends, not matter how small they are. At the current rate some of these parts of the emerging economies are growing, smaller projects could turn into very large accelerating gains independent of the immediate returns to a company through brand recognition or profits.
