Good job, Birk! I was too lazy to do this! ![]() One thing: (not a critique, just an idea) Could we add in a procedure for officials who leave the region without a visa? Maybe give them two days to return or remove them from office? Not to recall them (You know where I stand on mandatory recalls) but just assert that you must be a citizen to hold office. What do you think? |

Thanks!
Well, with this proposal, if a person leaves the region they aren't a citizen any longer (except with a visa, which expires in three days). If we amend the constitution to state that government officials have to be citizens, this would be covered. That would make them constitutionally unqualified to be serving in the government, which would annul their place in the government, so an election would need to take place for the vacant seat. |

Just clarification, would this amendment, Birk, clearly state a new election would be held? I think it should... I believe this is my 1000th post...

Well, if a person is invalidated and removed from office, there'd be an election, correct??? Yeah, you're still ahead of me.

Yeah, but that's covered by the constitution where it states that when a vacancy is created an election is held.
The margin between our posts is getting smaller, I'm only about 20 posts ahead of you now. |
